Just heard from the guy in Oklahoma, apparently a small tornado touched down in the Broken Arrow area, didn't sound like it did too much damage though, still JML is in that area right?

I do believe he is.

After a foggy start and a drizzly lunch hour, this afternoon has been gorgeous!  It's 7:30pm and it's still light out, almost 70°F and not too much wind.  If my pup weren't recovering from a cruciate issue I'd be walking him for sure; I may yet take myself for a walk without him if it stays this warm long enough.  :-)

This Space weather watch was published Friday, May 13, 2016 17:26 UTC

I hope they actually meant MAY 16, 2016

Otherwise, someone at the Space Weather PREDICTION Center needs a refresher course on what is meant by words like WATCH, FORECAST, and PREDICTION.

Getting some pretty nice weather here, not yet hot enough to discourage outdoor activity, bouncing between warm coat, windbreaker, and no coat.  It was nice and dry today, next couple of days have a chace of rain but after that it should be lovely weather for walking for at least several more days.

(Which probably means I'll be tied up at lunchtime all week, except the rainy days, but oh, well.)

We had a lot of rain. About 5 inches over the past two days. Other areas to our south and southeast had 10 inches today alone—enough to force the closure of a major Interstate (I-45 coming from Houston to Dallas, closer to the Dallas end). Plenty of wind, but no damage around us. Some trees in other parts of Garland were uprooted. We got lucky in our part.

...and guess what? We're having our ancient HVAC unit replaced today. A 6-hour-long operation with no A/C and no way to leave the house. Hell of a day to pick to do it.

Sounds like the old joke of the man who complained about the leaking roof while it was raining, but could not fix it while it was raining.  Then when the rain stopped, he would not fix the roof because it was not leaking now.

"There's a hole in the bucket, dear Liza, dear Liza ... "

They are definitely working on our A/C now. Replacing the whole thing, inside and out. Going from an 10 SEER rating to a 16 SEER, complete with a free Nest thermostat.
