Well, we have rain this morning, then possibility of a thunderstorm with "small hail" this afternoon.   Bleh.

That's a first. I've never before heard the complain, "My hail is too small." :P

I wasn't blehing over the size of the hail, but that it existed at all.

You're really sure that's what you meant, right? ;)

Maybe you were hoping to get in a few rounds of golf, and "Hey, free ice golf balls!"

How do Iceilist balls fly?

Hmm. Interesting question. While ice is not known for its structural resiliency, hail is probably on the high side of that, as it's built up in layers. It is a low density material, which says that when you to take a whack at it, it should offer little resistance. So I'm going to guess that a proper golf ball sized hailstone, hit with a drive, will have some spalling and goflying in a wobbly-assed manner, as opposed to explosively fragmenting or fracturing into major pieces.

mlooney, care to test?

You make a large assumption about my access to golf clubs.  And for that matter the frequency of golf ball sized hail.

Test called off due to insufficient hail.

Well, it's not like you can plan a trip to get some - it doesn't last long enough for you to go to hail.

To say nothing of going to Hail and back.

Yeah, but you keep getting stars and underlines, plus some arrows...

Oh come now! I've been a proud member of The List since 2016, and I'm still not up to oak-leaf clusters?

Well, \me doesn't do oak-leaf clusters, that what the stars and underlines are for.  Plus the occasional elder sign.

Weather underground is saying that we have an 80% chance of rain tonight and a 60% chance of thunderstorms in the morning. Based on previous storms, I suspect that around noon tomorrow I'm going to either have a very needy cat or Explorer the Cat is going to hid behind the TV in the closet.

I just had a single thunder clap. Woke me up and was followed by Explorer the Cat being extra needy. It wasn't followed by any thing else so she's curling up at my knees like normal.

She is back to hanging out near my head.  Right now she's not freaking out, but she isn't acting normal either.  It's still raining a little bit, she might be hearing thunder that I'm missing.
