While not as extreme a swing up here, it's still a bit of a roller coaster with temps below freezing one day, above freezing the next and repeating.

It's 75 right now.  That's not why I'm posting.  Between noon Saturday and midnight Sunday we are projected to have a 50 degree temperature swing.  Mid 80's on Saturday, mid 30's on Sunday.  That is roughly 1 and third degree an hour change over 36 hours.

There is a reason why the national weather service's main location is in Oklahoma.

I don't think that rate is unusual - but to continue at that rate for that long...

Reminds me of a story my late friend Jens told me of the time he visited Moscow. It was in late autumn. One day the temperature was 20 degrees Celsius/68 degrees Fahrenheit. Twenty four hours later it had dropped to minus 20 degrees Celsius/0 degrees Fahrenheit. I am starting to understand what fun it must have been to be a German soldier in the drive on Moscow in late '41. Or better yet, a soldier in Napoleon's army in 1812.

They lied. It's going to get down to 40 tonight.  So only a 47 degree swing which isn't so bad.

Currently 40 degrees.  Expected to get no higher than 50 in the 36 hours.  Raining.  Expected to stay that way for 18-24 hours

Rain early...then remaining cloudy with showers overnight. Low around 40F. Winds NNE at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 100%. Rainfall near a half an inch. Locally heavy rainfall possible.

Which explain my early morning headache and body pains.  A front rolled in.

As long as it isn't the East Front. I don't like the looks of that munitions stockpile Marshal Zhukov is lugging along.

It's not unusual to rain in my part of the world, but it is unusual to have it rain constantly for so long. Yesterday it started raining around 11AM local time and basically kept raining until roughly 10:30AM earlier the next day, and it's still overcast so I'm wondering if it'll come back for round 2. You know it's bad when classes were suspended even up to college level because of the flooding in the downtown area.

Currently 73 degrees F.   But that's not why I have body pain and a mild migraine

Showers and scattered thunderstorms. Low 59F. Winds SSE at 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 90%.

That would be why.  Weather fronts suck.

The active front has rolled over us, but in about 4 hours the tail end of the pressure system is going to pass over.  Changes in pressure, either up or down, cause issues.  My cup of joy overflows.

It's February 25th, it's 18C and it is thundering and lightning and pouring rain like crazy here.

Normally we're at of below freezing and having blizzards this time of year.

It's 34 and calm, but that's not why I am posting

It's the start of tree pollen season here in North East Oklahoma.  My one seasonal allergy1.  Time to refill my pseudoephedrine stash.  I'm going to need it for the next couple of weeks.

I am less than fully gruntled by this.

1Actually I'm rather specific about what tree pollen I have trouble with:Oaks.

That most assuredly doth suck. Do you stock up  on an antihistamine as well?

I've been taking prescription Zyxal for several years now. However, I've recently discovered it's about to go OTC, and at a price that's more expensive than what I'm paying now through Blink Health (Blue Cross doesn't cover it). Not a happy camper, I.

I've also been taking hydroxyzine to back up the Zyxal. Together, the two put a dent in my serious year-round allergies.

Just curious as to what you use.

I've experimented a little, enough to develop a belief that Allegra works better for me than Clariton.  As I tell my clients, if the same antihistamine worked the best for everyone, we wouldn't have so darn many of them competing!

Benadryl seems to work just fine for me.

It's 46 and calm, but the wind is going to pick up soonish which is  why we have a "Red Flag" warning for brush fires.  First of the year and a bit early.  Odd.  Tree pollen is higher than it was yesterday, which means I'm taking pseudoephedrine and benadryl, which as the odd effect of making me wired and drowsy at the same time.

And I can smell a little bit of grass fire smoke.  News puts it on the other side of the river, so I am not worried right now.

It is a drizzly 52°F outside, and my Nest thermostat tells me it's 74°F inside. However, for some reason I feel as cold as the inside of a freezer. No idea why. Maybe it's the time of day: 5:51 a.m., and I still haven't had any coffee.

/* goes off to try and rectify the problem */

57, high winds, still have a Red Flag alert for brush fires.  Supposed to rain either tonight or Monday, which will help with the brush fire issues.  I suspect the rain is ProfessorTomoe drizzle coming north.

77 degrees F.  "Windy with scattered thunderstorms. High 78F. Winds S at 20 to 30 mph. Chance of rain 40%. Winds could occasionally gust over 40 mph."  They say we are due a thunderstorm around 18:00

75 and thunderstorm.  Radar shows a big arsed rain front coming our way.  I suspect that my body will be telling me all about in the morning, if not later tonight.  My cup of joy may overflow, depending.

Also "Tree pollens" are at "high", which is less than optimal and also adding to the cup of joy issue.

For the next ten days, there is a chance of rain every day other than Friday.  They are saying a 100% chance of rain on Saturday.  We also have the wind from all points of the compass in the next ten days.  I am not sure how I feel about all this.

We don't get any higher than a 60% chance during that period. Looks like all of the wet stuff is going to stay north of D/FW during this round.

I'm putting this here because I got it off of weather.com.  It is a Californa fire as it happens, but what makes it epic is the way the firefighter is standing.  That's pretty much "Oh, yeah, no big thing, just a wall of fire 20 feet tall.  Must be Tuesday."
