Celeste The Pirate - Issue 04

I'm just posting here because nobody has in ten days and it was getting depressing seeing that.
To everyone: There will be a special wallpaper next week. What's so special about it? Well, anyone who POSTS here will be emailed a copy. So even a (genuine) "I'm enjoying Celeste." is enough. More will be deeply appreciated, but I want to try and stir up some conversation here.

I hope all Celeste fans have remembered that today is Talk Like a Pirate Day! ARRRR!!! What better comic to read today than Celeste, after all?
(BTW, sorry I haven't posted much. I HAVE been reading the comic, but can't seem to think of a good comment, plus I'd hate to make a comment or prediction that accidentally spoils a future plot point by taking the surprise out of it. I suppose I'm being hypocritical, though, as I frequently get annoyed by the lack of posts on my own forum. The irony hasn't escaped me here. In any event, great comic; it's been keeping me on the edge of my seat.

I'm getting caught up on things. I've been out in field camps most of the time here so far so I can't access the internet as often as I like. Oh, in case you're wondering it's a nice spring day of -13F with a windchill of -39F
I'm wondering why Celeste doesn't want any crew from the beyond the mid 20th century. I think it would be interesting to see the crew and the mix of times/experience that they bring. I'm also interested in seeing what Gideon's story is and what he knows.
I'll post when I can.

Sorry guys, but Celeste is taking this week off. Our favorite time-traveling pirate is ready and rarin' to go, but the fact is the creator/writer is just plain bummed out. I'm sure I don't have to go into reasons why.
Anyway, just let me get my batteries and enthusiasm for the project recharged and we'll pick it up next week, okay?
Oh, the free wallpaper offer is still in effect. Those that post here in the month of September will receive a wallpaper of Gideon. Those who donate will receive the Gideon wallpaper as well as a second wallpaper of the next crew member to be recruited. We already know who it is and Lily has inked it, but we're keeping it a "sorta" secret. (Though I'm pretty sure I mentioned it somewhere.)
Sorry about this unexpected week on hiatus. I just need it to look over how I'm going to move forward on this wonderful story with such a small audience.

I've just got back in from a field camp and finially being able to catch up on things. The weather has just been playing havoc with moving people and equipment around. I've been hoping to see that the hiatus might be over but sadley no.
I may be pretty much out of comminication at times but I do think about you all and really do pray for the best for you.

Kat.
Now for a well deserved hot shower before heading back out in a few days

What happened to us???? I have no wondered why anyone not give feedback about the Angel of St Thomas.
I am kinda of disappointment-- that's all.

I've pretty much said all that I think I needed to say in the "Agonizing over Hiatus" thread... Mainly, I've been watching the comic to see if there would be an update, and thus some new news, but haven't seen anything so I've kept silent. Still hoping something good happens for you guys!

I leave for a couple of months and everything ground to a halt!
I am flattered!

Actually, I think Lilly and Pete are having a severe case of writers block ala Anne of the Wotch and she is waiting for encouragement.
Very Well

Yikes!
I shall repost a new message and use my spell checker.
It could be that RL has interfered with the story.
Hopefully, all is calm, all is bright
Ifi Lilly wants encouragement, I, for one shall give it in spades

Hi hi, Dreamer!
Not so much real life as much as real ego. The truth of it was that Lily and I were getting virtually no feedback and monthly donations from only a few patrons. For all we knew, we were posting into a void. And the honest truth was that we each have audiences in other endeavors - Lily with her art and myself with my novels - that we couldn't justify continuing Celeste, as much as we wanted to. I was making no money and Lily was being paid far, far below her talents.
For what it's worth, there's no writer's block. I have Celeste story scripted out for the next five or six years. After this five issue limited series, I have enough ready now for about 20 more issues. For a writer like myself, that means those 20 issues of story would spawn another 20 issues, and so forth. The man you see at the end of Issue 03 of Celeste already has a name, back story, mission, affiliation, and etc.
I'm hoping to finish Celeste at some point, but I've enough projects going now that Celeste has to take a backseat. There IS a slim ray of hope, however, that when you next see Celeste, it will be in a completely different media. We'll leave it at that for now.
Thanks for reading Celeste the Pirate and I hope we can continue the story at a time when we might draw more fans and support.
