Anyway, here's the next one. Since it'll be explained in a comic soon, let me just point out that the heads are actually not severed from their bodies. Their bodies were simply transmogrified into the plaques. I was going to have that said in this comic, but it just didn't read very well, so I'm putting it here for now.
If you're interested in picking names for some of the new characters appearing in this arc, post suggestions in the forum!

This is eventful and unusual for even Anne's storytelling style.
Cute bit about the heads on "plaques"
Makes one wonder, though. Not All the characters seem to have magical powers. I am sure the bald headed fellow is from a knock off of "Dragon Ball Z"
Also of interest is the fact that Robyn is not versed in magic, but was magicaly transformed, Their sensors need work!
Sounds like a game of Hare and Hounds.
To the fields , men!
Those who are left handed and those who wish they were

Anyway, I'm really looking forward to seeing how this arc plays out.
As for name suggestions.....I'm going to need time to consider the options for some of them. But I do have an idea for two of them right now.
The catgirl....all the good catgirl ideas were taken so I started thinking "What is special about her" so I could come up with something. The only thing that really stood out to me was her pink hair. So I bounce around pink things. Rose...Bubblegum....Coral.
My main idea is Coral.
And the bird guy, he reminds me of a Raven or a Crow.
And the name for their species is Corvus.
So...how about Corvo?

(Also, the false encouragement plaque totally deserved transmogrification.)

I must say I'm disappointed, of all the TFed art the previous victims could have become, heads with plagues is the most bland. I'll admit it gets the shock factor across both that these hunters play for keeps and increases their hunter motif.. but I was hoping for some traditional art with the ability to speak... I guess we'll see plenty once the bodies start hitting the floor.
Was that guy with the mustache a companion of the cat girl? They seemed ever so slightly connected. Again I'm holding out that she doesn't turn out to be insane or evil. Not that it MATTERS, since the law of protagonist invincibility say that Anne and/or Robin will be the LAST ONES in the game anyway. They survive, are sent home tralala with a new nicknacks and the rest are doomed to additions to the hunter's game. That's assuming of course the hunters are even HONORABLE enough to keep their word. It's the complete cliche that hunters in this new age culture must have no sense of honor, fair play, or sportsmanship, even though those are the only things that make hunting actually worth while.
Name for Bug Man seen in panel five: Saint Xion. (this one just called out to me)
Very Bright Oger Woman: Professor Moriggon
Human Trophy Head: Alexis Wyvern
Shy-Guy Parody in first panel: That-Which-Is-Unknown or Which-Is-Unknown or They-Who-Are-Unknown are all possible names
Bird Trophy Head: Sylver
Toad Trophy Head: Bo'g
Plague Doctor Dressed Raven: Ivan Dusts
Mr. Toad Parody Thug: Mr. Bigg Smiles (hey irony)
Dark Aang Parody: Dread Prince Zylys XIV of the Second Forgotten Kingdom
Faux Mermaid trophy: Allen East
Man With Mustache Who May or May Not Be a Companion of the Cat Girl: Herold D. VonClave
Cat Girl: Niema VonClave Based on the german niemand word for 'nobody.'
I know the chances of my name for the cat girl in the five panels or so she has before she ends up a trophy are slim to none, but hey, if anyone wants to discuss these, I'd be happy to.

Does anyone else get a "Snapping Turtle" vibe from that guy?

No trouble, in short, has been spared to show us that these are some of cAnne's most evil opponents ever.
I'm still holding out for Robyn to have hitherto unsuspected magical mojo. She really should. I agree that the detection device/spell might be a tad wonky and that rAnne is perhaps just toying with us, but I WANT her to have magical oomph. She deserves it! (Yeah, yeah, too often one gets only the bad stuff that one deserves and not the good, and yet...)

I don't expect it to catch on, but the first thing I thought of when I saw the mermaid trophy was Big Mouth Jilly Bass.
That's a bit long, though. Jilly Bass?
A: Well, depends on if they use the cloner or not...

In editing phase now, word increase has slowed until I start on the next book. Node's about finished now, and I already know how the sequel will begin.

There was a writer's block, but reading The Wotch reminded me that there was too much plot and not enough fun going on, so the block is over.
For the clarification of several points that have not yet been made: My main character in the novel and avatar in the other worlds is Saliaven Chronotis. He differs sometimes depending on my usage, but in NodeWorld(where it actually matters) he's an extraordinarily powerful academic.
Yes, I know it's spelled Salyavin in Dr. Who and if I published I would get some dirty looks from BBC, sosumi! I liked the way the name sounded, and besides they're very different people... well, at least 85%
This looks quite like me, actually. My name is Osaka, a samuri man
an Irishman born, but I live in Japan

There is usually only one Wotch with the full powers, at one time.

Well, Robyn needn't be a Wotch. I mean, Cassie has witchy powers, Miranda has Wotch-Emerita powers, and any powers that Robyn might have would not have to be associated with Wotch-hood.
And, yes, Robyn saving the day with as-yet-unsuspected powers would be a little bit too hackneyed -- but it could still be made interesting. Robyn saving the day without turning out to have any such powers would truly rock, but I don't see how she could manage that: kung-fu fighting? Mind you, as a die-hard fan of Miranda I'm also, in contradiction of myself, rooting for her as a dea ex machina here.
It would be excessive for cAnne and Robyn to end up as heads on trophy plaques, and then have Cassie and Miranda roped in by the baddies and end up freeing them after they prevail. Too farfetched anyway.
Also, will cAnne be able to make her into cRobin again why they're trapped there? I'm not sure. It might be a bad idea, anyway
