I tried to use the search to see if this was asked before, but I'm not sure if it worked.

Why is Jean sometimes a pale green color? I'd been assuming that it was somehow because she was a genie (Even though they never did that in the TV show.) But in today's comic male Jean is green. She is also grey sometimes.

Green: http://jeaniebottle.com/?p=176
Not Green: http://jeaniebottle.com/?p=12

Is is monitor calibration? Something like that happened to Pete Abrams, which ended up forcing Zoe's father to be a viking.

BTW: I still love the comic. Sorry if I come off as aggressive and judging but the banner below says I have to.

To be honest, I'm not sure why she's turning Green. Envy maybe? For some reason taking colour samples from previous comics has caused her skin tone to start to go greenish.

That means that there is mold growing in your art program's color picker. Dip it in a photo of bleach.

Erm, at the risk of telling you something you're already painfully well aware of:

I've had this problem too when picking colors from a jpeg image, or an image utilizing shading rather than flat fills, with a too-small sample radius. Click next to a jpeg artifact, say, and blammo! All sorts of weird colors pop up.
Yeah, I pretty much take webcomics way too seriously.

Uh, you shouldn't really pick colours from a jpeg; you should pick colours from the original, non-compressed image (presumably a psd).

For example, one of the battlefields might be occupied by the skeletons of a red dragon and a few adventurers, while another might contain a Really Monstrous Duck and The Czars Of Nonsensical Effluvia.

I keep a character palette, this helps me a lot. When I develop a new character I add their palette of colors (Everything in about the same order so that I don't confuse eyes with hair or shirts or something. For me it works best from top down. Hair, skin, eyes, upper garments, lower garments; but since clothing can change those last two are more flexible) Then, when I'm coloring the image I will have the palette.psd up also & just pick the colors from there.

Since Jeanie is now perceived as having a greenish hue you may wish to keep her that way, but for showing male Jean you may wish to use the colors from your first strip.

Or, once Jeanie has granted Neil that third wish, she might go back to that original skin color. Using the Green skin to indicate a build-up of unused wish magic. (Which strikes me as cute, but a lot of unnecessary work)

Good luck. & keep up the good work.

About the same time I Dream of Jeanie aired there was another program called Captain Kangaroo. One of the central characters of that children's show was a fellow named Mr. Green Jeans.

Thus, it's only logical that Green-Jean is the result of the archive reels bleeding over into each other after all those years in storage, much like the channels used to bleed into each other. I wouldn't be surprised if Neil got a new roommate who is actually a Martian and starting driving a talking car that is the reincarnation of his mother.

Logic. You can't dispute it.
I've decided to stop putting off those important tasks. I start tomorrow.

That is perfect! Y'know, they'd better not take any 3-hour boat rides.

Call me colorblind, but I hadn't noticed any greenishness.
