I know there have been a few people who have questioned why it takes so long to approve accounts. I wanted to let people know the process I go through.

I do approvals two to three times a week. The software we use is very diligent in showing me what needs to be approved and what is still waiting for the response letter from new members.
When that's done, I do a search on both the names and the IP addresses to try to weed out the spam accounts. I also have to use my best judgement. This, in itself, can oftimes take me several hours per name. And considering that we get approximately 20 new accounts a day, with a large percentage of them being spam, it does take a while.

And, yes, sometimes I do let names sit a little while longer while I do additional research on it.

If you feel you have been sitting for a while -- and you have returned the response email (be sure to check those spam filters!), you can always send me an email at tfrevor@910cmx.com. Having someone actually write me does a lot to ease my mind as to the validity of the account.
