  1. There was an episode of Babylon 5 with a holodeck-lite. It used holograms and full body feed back suits to interact with them.

IIRC, in the episode there was a Holo-brothel, and during the investigation of a complaint they found a hologram of the (female) station commander which turned out to be surprisingly popular with (female) clients.

It was destroyed by collateral damage when the commander chucked a grenade at the Bad Guys. Purely unindended, I'm sure.

*runs to google*. River of Souls, B5 TV movie. Guest starring an easily recognizable Martin Sheen, despite the prosthetics and alien make-up.

  2. Well, the knowledge gained by Tedd's experiments will not become irrelevant, unless there is a system change. Many of the experiments he performed were about basic research and rules. Which enabled him to make the watches. The use of ambient energy to power the watches will go away,

And as far as his not causing a system change, remember, any sufficiently advanced magic is indistinguishable from technology.

If the public at large thinks its an app, and doesn't think its magic and doesn't understand how it works anyway, is it really a threat to what magic wants?

    ... what does magic want?

I suspect Diane is going to need to get smacked a little to get along with Tedd. Kinda not looking forward to that, cause I think he's still a little fragile. Though it could be funny to watch Diane get death glares from basically everyone.

I've often thought Diane and Tedd might get along. They aren't perfect matches for each other, but have some common ground. If she could get him away from being a science nerd Diane might've been a bad influence on Tedd.

With the character growth they've had since, I still think they might get along well.

Agreed. I think the kindest way Dan could write this is that Susan's mother hasn't told Susan that she's adopted yet, but she fully intends to do so one day and that she hasn't told Susan about Diane because she doesn't know about Diane herself and she doesn't know that her ex-husband is the twins' biological father either.

    **snip**

Do we actually know that Ms. Pompom's ex-husband is the biological father? I don't remember this coming up. He was certainly a father-figure, before his betrayal was discovered.

If he wasn't, it does bring up a nice Lost Magical Bloodline found trope.

Well, aren't there cars that just turn on via a button on the key now, rather than turning the key? I know that my dad's pickup you don't turn the key in: You push a button. But that one requires the key being plugged into the slot. No turning though, just button. Pretty sure I've heard of ones that work at a distance.

It's not quite a port. They're actually versions built from the ground up for those environments, without using any of the Java PC codebase, from what I remember. But yes, Minecraft: Pocket Edition is def a thing.

There are cars already available (used, at decent prices) that start for anyone carrying the matching electronic key, even in their pocket or purse, no physical contact needed.

I just recently bought one of these. Its the best thing ever. As long as the key is in the car, it will start at the press of a button. It doesn't even have a slot for the key to go in.

A friend wanted to drive it and see how it handled so we went for a drive. I never gave her the key, kept it in my pocket (near the passenger side door).

Given Elliot can use a cellphone "normally" I'd wafer that he could use this kind of system also.

Hmmm ... how could the next two dates be as interesting as this one ... I guess that just turning Sam male wouldn't be enough, but maybe if his gender isn't only thing Sarah will notice? Perhaps they will meet Carol? .... and regarding Justin/Luke, they will obviously meet rest of Luke's group, but that also wouldn't be enough, unless someone of them will have awakening and without Jerry's serenity spell they will get lot of collateral damage ... hmmmm ... nah. Still not enough. Also, not sure how those two dates could get together as Ellen's and Elliot's date did.

One of the things I've been looking forward to involving Carol would be if/when this secret of the magic build gets out. How will Carol react to finding out her own sister has been pretty much in the middle of assorted goings on and has kept her in the dark?

Well, if someone's organizing vampires and having them come to Moperville, Edward definitely needs to be told, I'm not getting my hopes up but this is not just a simple bulldog dragon causing a ruckus near a comic book shop, Arthur Arthur should be obligated to send agents to investigate a possible vampire infestation and find the cause of it.

Speaking of possible cause. This doesn't seem like something Pandora would do, despite her insanity and wanting to "destroy" the world, I doubt she recruit aberrations to help with that. Colonel Sanders? Given his behaviour, maybe, depends on if ancients hold the same hatred for aberrations that immortals do, maybe not though.

The Sirleck theory is sounding better, he's an aberration, probably has the ability to contact other aberrations, "hey I know of some very juicy targets for anyone interested" kind of thing. I'm not sure if Magus would be aware of that plan if true, he already despised the idea of asking for Sirleck's assistance a second time.

    *snip

I don't know which comic number it was, but wasn't the last sight of Magus pretty much his begging assistance from Sirleck in distracting the Immortals watching Elliot? Sirleck didn't wan't to be the bait, but I'm willing to bet other aberrations would suit him nicely. We may be seeing the opening bid on Magus making his move with aberration backing ... or we're still in the organization stage and an unexpected griffon started throwing monkeys into the works.

[sarcasm] Oh, no, I'll have to reread the archives to find that comic. [/sarcasm]

  9. So, this might have been covered in the old thread, and might be better placed in wild guessing. But I was rereading and got to Jerry talking about Ted's ...father during the Hammerchlorians arc. What if he actually knows Both Edward and Ted through Noriko?
It would kinda imply that Jerry was a participant in the Noriko Information Blackout. No, wait, I'd be inferring that, right?. Not sure what he'd be implying...

It is growing ever more apparent that this other side of the world has far greater knowledge of the workings of Magic than this side. Given that Tedd's dad is a VIP of the paranormal and was unaware there even was an energy clog before Tedd hinted at it to him. *snip*

This also why I think Tedd's magical "impairment" isn't an impairment. Tedd accesses and uses magic differently, but since it isn't in the PTB's documentation, it is therefor bad/wrong. The experts on this side don't understand magic quite as well as they think they do.

Though I'm sure somewhere there is a group/think tank doing basic research into magic, a High Energy Magic Research Lab or some such.

Hah, Elliot & Nanase's responses caught Andrea off guard.  Also, Andrea fighting to not go off the rails onto her theoretical tangents is pure, geeky awesome.

Andrea should meet Ted. They can get a theoretical tangent feedback loop going.
I've always thought Tess and Diane would get along quite well also.

  12. Nanase knows that enough of a change on her end produces a new fairy doll instead of re-inhabiting an old one. It isn't much of a stretch to posit that enough of a change on the other end would prevent the doll from arriving.
That being said, I can see her not making that connection. Not thinking it through at crunch time is not an uncommon failing.

  13. Maybe I'm missing something, but with the naming structure mentioned in the previous comic I'm not seeing an issue with calling this MV-F. From the prior strip we have MV-E for Male Variant - Equal. So having a Male Variant - Feminine doesn't seem like a problem to me.
