I was not thinking of people who are malicious so much as ones who seem completely delusional, perhaps even hallucinating, as in "imagining voices/spirits/whatever telling them to do it", or "mistaking the neighbor's cat for a demonic entity", and then committing a violent action based on such delusions. Someone whose thought processes appear to be completely non sequiter.

Sane but malicious: Shooting the mailman because you think he slept with your daughter.

Deluded: Shooting the mailman because you think that he is an invading extraterrestrial.

Recently our mailperson has been giving our chihuahua treats if he happens to  be outside when she comes around to deliver the mail. if mailpeople are so prone to getting shot at, I'm wondering if I should worry about my mailperson's motive for giving my dog those treats.

The panel looks IDENTICAL. Also, if that would be literally direct continuation, it would start AFTER the hijinks. Obviously, there was some time rewind.

... although yes, before today's strip I assumed it directly follows panel 2 here.

The reason why I wasn't sure about Dan's timeline for this story. I did notice though that in the commentary for this comic he refers to it as a "continuation of the previous storyline", dropping the "direct continuation" he had previously used in describing it.

Alright, so the first few pages of this part of the NP was just prior to Pandora seeing them and having her rant about Catalina's name based affinity.

I'm not too sure about that. In the commentary for the first comic in this storyline Dan said "it's a direct continuation of the previous one". I took that as this storyline occuring immediately after the conclusion of the previous one. Pandora's presence here could just be her hanging around hoping to see some hijinks happen.

My guess is that the Emissary/Disco Wizard is Abraham, whose physical form right now is really, really stoned. And this wouldn't be the first bonehead mistake he's made, would it?

My original guess for the Emissary/Disco Wizard was Phill but he's a lot smarter than this.

  5. I'm wondering if the Disco Wizard might have made a mistake here. If he is aware enough of Grace's dreams to have identified Pandora's intrusion so quickly. It would seem to me that he would have no problem remaining hidden in Grace's dreams from Pandora. But now he has shown himself and removed all doubt for Pandora about who or what has been feeding information to Grace.

It is common tactic to provoke an enemy to see exactly how they will respond. Did the Disco Wizard just stumble into Pandora's trap here?

Seconded. Also, some arguments aren't bad. Just... Flame Wars are bad...

Could one argue that all arguments are bad, otherwise it would be considered a discussion? And would making such an argument be irony or a paradox?
