Aaand, Sybil is on Magus's side. Arthur isn't. Would he be this moved by young woman who wouldn't be "married" to his creation? Let's see, was he aware of any woman being endangered by buldog dragon?

I'm not sure Arthur cares because Ashley has a connection with Kevin. I think it's because he knows Ashley (who has relatively little experience with magic) had to deal with some really upsetting parts of magic and Dan thought Arthur would empathize with her pain.

As for Sybil being "on" Magus' side, I'm not so sure about that either. Part of her job seems to entail bringing up alternative arguments to Arthur, and she doesn't object to his reasoning afterwards.

  2. Look, fey ancestry is totally a thing, it's just that it has no applicability here.

I'm a little sad that Magus got away without ever talking to Ellen, but I'm also not sure it could have gone better with all the reactivations in the building.

  3. I agree with Dan's commentary, this is pretty horrifying. I also have doubts about this butler's ability to live beyond the next week or two.

Hmmm.  It is pretty common in spiritual studies as well as in fiction, that the possessed individual must invite in the spirit.

I wonder whether Dan is going to break with that tradition.

Also, I notice that 910CMX is no longer listed on EGS's "Extras" page.

I follow Dan on Twitter, and I think he delisted it after the crash. Not 100% sure about that though.

Honestly, I understand Diane getting the pretzels unsalted if she's eating both of them. Pretzel shops have a tendency to overdo the salt, and no salt is definitely better than too much. Still wondering what horrible enchanting complication Rhoda missed.

What about having one salted and one unsalted and altering?

You'd think that'd help, but unless you can somehow get the salt from one pretzel to stick to the other it's better just to not bother in the first place (or just ask for less salt very, very politely)

A Soft Pretzel with Lemonade is good.

But Mall Pretzels, like most Mall Füd, is best served with Orange Julius.

What's Orange Julius? Is it like a tan version of Julius Caesar oh no I reminded myself of the election and made myself sad again

Yanking enough chains to stop a bus, sheesh.

Expect anything devilish, but what I am looking for is her ulterior motive. Yet, no major character REALLY dies, rite?

I don't know, Dan did specifically exclude time travel from magic so that an event like Grace destroying Moperville couldn't be undone. While Dan likely doesn't want the story to get too dark, I fail to see how a being with as little empathy as Sirleck "rain[ing] hell down on Moperville" would happen without any casualties. At the very least, someone's going to get hurt by this.

As for Pandora, I'm not sure she has an ulterior motive here. She thinks someone's messing with her plans, and she intends to find out who it is. Too bad this is distracting her from Voltaire actively trying to get her son killed.

  7. Yeesh. Pandora scared me with that "IT WILL BE HER LAST DREAM" comment, and even with the "before waking up" context it's still pretty terrifying. I hope Grace makes it out of this in one piece. (I mean, with what we last saw Sirleck up to, the whole cast is probably in danger, but I still worry about what Pandora has planned)
