  1. I had to look back to see that Elliot apparently got a new spell after finally declaring the superhero(ine) spell to be awesome.

Anyone want to hazard a guess as to its use? Technically I think kitty transformation seem to make the most sense, considering how Edward specifically said that is the  power Elliot would have the highest relationship to after girly transformation.

Also, anyone notice that since Sirleck (Arthur?) knows about what magic wants to keep secret, it would technically imply that he(it?) has lived longer than Pandora. Since Pandora only recall it as a memory when Sirleck (Arthur?) seem to know it directly.

Can someone explain whether Sirleck is in control of Arthur all the time or just partially? I really am starting to get confused on this aspect here.

  2. Note that it is still quite possible for the Disco Wizard to have been misled. I suspect this mainly because note that the way he was given his power is kinda like...you know... he was "Guided and Empowered" to contact Grace. Not a direct means, no direct knowledge. So I still say that the possibility of DW being misled by somebody is still definitely on the table.

Pandora knew it.  But didn't know she knew it?

Pandora definitely knows something about magic or something about what DW is talking about, but that does not really suggest anything, since that sentence is structured in such a way as to be able to remain ambiguous. She could be saying, "Why does that sound... [redacted]" or " Why does that sound... familiar, like that time 400 years age when everyone forgot about the 'Dangerous Rarity' that today is my Grand-Godson" or " Why does that sound... like another immortal misleading you" or " Why does that sound... like something I should know but forgot".

Note that DW did challenge her before, speaking of the forgetfulness of Immortals, hence it could fully be possible that this is something that immortals used to know but reset too many times to remember.

I wouldn't. Despite her threat to use seduction on Elliot, one of the biggest reasons Diane thought Elliot was a very good prospect was that she thought he was unlikely to pressure her into sex. Diane has lots of practice in teasing, but seduction?

Aphrodite/Venus is all for sex and all about sex. She's a fertility goddess. Artemis/Diana and her sister Athena/Minerva are both supposed to be eternal virgins--and man-killers.

You have a good point there...but I don't know a greek god of (to quote Elliot talking about girl Tedd) "A Huge Tease". Do you know any?

  4. I read back a bit and noticed the similarity between the EGS:NP image of cloud Pandora and her form when she was shown watching Nanase and Ellen joke about having a instant V5 lingerie party using Ellen's beam?

I feel like this might hint that what we are about to get is what Pandora did or what she was planning or why she made that plan.

Starting with the snarls of monsters that I am hearing.

Frankly, I'm halfway between terrified/horrified and turned on right now...I guess that counts as negative impact?

In my defense, Pandora is very beautiful. Also crazy, and sometimes turns into jail-bait, other times turning into monsters.

But I've always been attracted to Femme-Fatale types so I've always found Pandora to be fun to date. I mean can you imagine dating someone who is adventurous, is fun-loving, is interesting, is intelligent, is considerate, and cares about family and innocent civilians? I mean she is quite crazy but so what? That's like 7 goods to 1 bad, so there!

I can't believe I took 30 minutes to come up with excuses on why I should have a right to think Pandora is hot, I might need help...

Since the last panel shows Pandora changing her attire to have a cark mass of fur or feathers around her shoulders, and the silhouette behind Magus' silhouette, it suggests that Magus is still the catspaw of Pandora. But there's something behind Pandora--something with slitted eyes. Guess who has slitted eyes? Sirleck does. True, he has six of them, but the other ones are more to the side than to the front. I thought those sort of pie-shaped segments could be more eyes, but taking a closer look today, I think they're a couple of Sirleck's fangs. Maybe his wisdom fangs, the furthest back, upper pair,

So if that's a hint at the plot, Pandora is trying to manipulate Pandora. Not exactly a wise strategy, that. Bravely running away sounds a lot better to me. But maybe Sirleck's limpet-like nature is making him hang on to whatever plans he has for Magus.

Or maybe the owner of those slit pupils is someone or something else. Damien and Vlad seem to have slit pupils. But Vlladia doesn't. And even if Damien isn't really dead, using catspaws is totally out of character for him. And probably way beyond his intellectual capacity.

BTW, I kind of think Pandora will reset at the end of this arc. Maybe she could be passed off as Noah's little sister.

Speaking of Noah, I wonder what is his lineage that required hiding...I always thought he was Seyunolu, because I thought he was the alternate universe of Archie (considering how much he likes hugging and kissing, but is in an asexual relationship with Melissa; since he clearly says he knows she loves someone else and they provide each other comfort and whatnot...).

But could Noah's lineage also have some kind of relationship with immortals? I don't know, but I am eagerly waiting for the next couple of months to find out more about this Complicated Mess...

Well, both griffins whom Diane has met were powerful mages and warriors--even the one who was expressly "not a fighter" thought that destroying six Vampires unassisted was hardly worth mentioning. They were both quite intelligent, with the one who "just slashes things" being no mental slouch herself. That would count as "way cool" in a lot of people's books.

That's true. But at the same time she was the only one shown to fan-girl all over them. She was seen going to see a Geeky movie, something that can threaten her social status, for the sake of seeing Griffins.

We have not seen any other protagonists have this fan-girl like reaction so I assumed that Dan is emphasizing Diane's reaction for story purposes. But I do admit you have a fair point there.

This is just wild speculation here, but considering that at the end of "So a Date" Sirleck is misinformed that  Adrian is the son of either Helena or Demetrius. Sirleck will probably try to send vampires after Adrian, which should entice Helena and Demetrius to try to find someone to fight the vampires (Adrian could probably handle 1 or 2 himself but if there are more...) they may even get Diane and Susan to fight them, so not only will Diane learn of Adrian's true nature (and be more respectful afterwards) but she'd likely get marked to unlock her innate talents, meanwhile Magus will take the opportunity to get Ellen to zap Elliot, Voltaire probably leaves a clue for Pandora suggesting that Elliot was the reason for the attack on Adrian and considering how Pandora and Magus parted ways (Magus refusing to get Edward to kill the person that hurt Adrian), and knowing why Magus needs Elliot, Pandora would probably be enraged enough to find a way to get Elliot killed to spite Magus. Does that sound like a complicated mess to anyone? ;)

Yes! I LOVE it! But it's not complicated enough XD.

I see your complicated mess and raise you Rhoda & Luke

Rhoda has been identified by Grace to have the ability to enlarge living beings (unknown whether she can enlarge anything or just things that are alive for now) so I feel like she would be targeted somehow. After all, the vampires are able to sense people who have abilities, making Rhoda (A girl who has ability but can't fight or control it) a very very appealing meal . And Rhoda being in danger will definitely be a cause for Diane to awaken in a dramatic flair, after all, she did punch a guy for "approaching" Rhoda before.

Luke is able to identify magic marks and will most likely be on a date with Justin at the time. Justin, being the justice warrior he is, will likely get involved once Elliot/Cheerleadra is in battle. We do not know whether Luke will have power other than being able to scan people, but it would make sense that he be involved even if just to give more information to the other two.

I feel like Pandora would not kill Elliot to spite magus, her hating things that are set in stone. I think it's more likely that she notes magus and Sirleck's existence, and sets the Paranormal investigation department aflame (figuratively) by either revealing Sirleck OR advising Sarah about Sirleck resulting in the Protagonists storming the government facility starting a panic over a Coop like situation in Moperville while Sirleck sends government agents to fight the protagonists.

This in turn sparks a government effort that recognizes the protagonists as dangerous, forcing the heroes to contact Luke's two friends and either lay low or move out. Perfect move into the college arc, since they would be unlikely to stay local in college and having them out of Moperville will stop the government from worry about another "Coop".

HOWS THAT FOR A COMPLICATED MESS!! HAHAHAHAHA

I mean...I'm definitely not evil! You have no proof! I mean, hey is that a demonic duck of some sort? -> :demonicduck:

  9. I think she would be closest to Aphrodite; at least from the way she acts that's how I feel.

    Possible Symbols of Aphrodite: http://www.goddessgift.com/goddess-myths/goddess_symbols_Aphrodite.htm

I would not even be surprised if she gets seduction / mental state influencing spells. But on the other hand she has been shown to have started developing a deeper character than "Get boys to buy us stuff" so I don't know. From how much she likes Griffins, she might get a summoning spell like Dex or something.

I hope never. I'm tired of Dan's rants about Star Wars.

Meh, I've never seen the star wars in full (seen one episode but that's it) but I find it to be alright. It's interesting to hear what the characters have to say about it as well. But I can understand why it might be annoying to have an update be just characters talking about star wars instead of actual story progress.

On the other and, upon re-read I noticed that whatever it is Tedd has seem to be similar to what the immortals have. Note that Tedds eyes (in battle mode) look similar to Pandora's eyes when she releases her power / decides to look scary; granted this could just be an artistic choice, but since Dan has had many ways of depicting power change since very early on I found it more likely that it is related. Supported by the fact that Pandora somehow considers Tedd her God-grandson which in my opinion probably draws some evidence that Pandora not only knows what Tedd is, but also has positive associations with it which for Pandora is very rare. So far Pandora is seen to care only about Blaike, Raven, Sarah, and Tedd. And she mostly just wants to have fun seeing what Sarah does. So I find it to likely be important that Pandora likes Tedd.

I also noticed upon re-read that Tedd is banned from the girls cloth section of the mall, no idea if Dan plans to ever re-use this gag but I would love it if he did XD. Also just remembered that Tedd has a stock of girls' clothing too (according to Grace).
