  1. What I love most about Dan is how he thinks. If someone is told, this magic shrinks you to half your size, they would probably assume you meant half-height and proportionately less volume. A half-sized human who was 5 ft tall would be 2.5 ft tall. The fact that this is 1/8 their original volume means nothing to most people. Given the way Tedd thinks, I'm surprised he doesn't ALWAYS use the more precise term "half-mass" or "half-volume" for what he expects the "shrink" magic does. I hope Diane points out to Tedd that he could use a more precise term rather than the generic "size" to describe the wand.

That, and Dan loves that 79.4% number which is the actual height changes for a half-mass change. It is probably in every comic commentary where someone changes size.

So, how many days long is this dream sequence going to be? Have to say, I'm digging "Cool as F---, Sarah".

Is this the longest time "Title Pending" has lasted? I forget. Did Dan say there were reasons for the pending nature of the title or is it just he doesn't know what to call it?

I find it odd that Dan comments about dolly Ashley being similar to original Barbie when the pose she is in would have been impossible for original Barbie to make. Those original dolls had very low range of motion.

  3. US Colleges in remote areas require people to live on campus. Colleges in suburbs and metropolitan areas generally don't care one way or the other. I commuted and lived in the dorms various eyes I went to college in a city.

"Most...require" is probably not really "most".

  4. I have to stop reading the author's notes.

Cheerleaders wear their uniforms during classes on those days when there's a pep rally. It's how you know there will be a pep rally. Why there are pep rallies? That I can't tell you. The athletes (and cheerleaders) never cared about my after school activities. Why should I have cared about theirs?

Oh, yeah, there was a comic: self-awareness seems to be a problem for both Diane and Susan. Perhaps it's hereditary. :)

  5. If you only read the first two panels with no other context is seems like Diane has just discovered she's a virgin.

Re: Lucy's seeming contempt for Diane

I think Lucy knows the school thinks Diane is.... easy. And she's seen no reason to tell Diane. Perhaps even thinking Diane wanted that reputation. And thus the nun crack.

For anyone who missed it, look at the word that was interrupted by Elliot hitting Magus in panel 4. With that and the commentary, I think Magus was saying "I'm going to try to wake him up." Elliot just jumped to a conclusion a little too soon, partly because Magus did a poor job of leading up to that statement.

Do you mean the part where Magus slammed Elliot into a wall was "a poor job of leading up [saying wake Ellen up]? Yeah, I'd call that a poor job of conversing civilly.

EDIT: Oh, wait, is that Elliot slamming Magus? I can't tell but maybe I read this all wrong.

  7. Looks like Dan edited Monday's comic and now it's date says Wednesday and it appears after "today's" Wednesday comic. (And while I was posting this it got fixed.)

But, after working that out: I'm disappointed Elliot didn't start with the "Why don't YOU ask her?" ploy. And if he says he doesn't have time, he can always point out Magus knows where Ellen lives.

I'm less disappointed though to see Cheerleadra, different outfit making her moniker a bit off not withstanding.

I'm pleased that Ashley is smart enough to stay far enough away that she's completely off panel. :) Though, seeing her on panel is also pleasing.

Magus has a funny definition of step aside. "Step... whoo--thump--osh.. aside." Give the guy a chance to move before whoooshing him. Philistine.

EDIT: I just realized, Magus is about to get beat up by a woman. In fact, he just witnessed Elliot turn into a woman in order to be stronger. I hope Magus takes in that data and has his mind whacked around a bit by it.

  8. Does Magus not know about Ellen gaining a lifetime of memories in the alternate reality thing with Aoki?

Also, if Elliot's first comment in the next comic isn't. "Has it occurred to you that you should ASK Ellen what she wants before you do anything? Your sense of justice does not override the wishes of the person you wish to "help" I'll be very unhappy."

OTOH, it would be funny if Ellen "must" be female and the attempt to transform her causes Magus to become female. (Exiern-style for those who know that comic.)
