  1. Enjoy worrying about nothing? Obviously that's a trick to get them to not worry.

    EVERYBODY PANIC!

Seriously though, hey, everyone got what they wanted or got bored, now it's time for all the magic to die out in this world only to be replaced with something new, unless Pandora can stop magic knowledge spreading.

And maybe a trip to GriffinWorld at some point.

  2. Tedd especially would become nefarious version of Lord Tedd in a heartbeat if Elliot died. They bros, metaphorically speaking.

There will be worlds crushed before his rage, empires falling before his anguish, transformation beams making all who rise up weaker... Tadpoles, maybe. .. It would be glorious in how devastating a fully prepped Tedd and some time could be.

On that note, someone really needs to step up and represent Magic.

    Pandora: "Let them eat magic."

    Voltaire: "OUR MAGIC WAA"

Magic: "Ladiesss... There's enough magic to go around, if you know what I'm saying.... Who's the empowering force that makes you get down and funky? Magic! That's right."

  3. To be honest the best way to deal with secret identities is to just troll everyone by having 3+ superhero identities, and 6+ 'mild mannered identities that happen to travel a lot explaining why they never seem to be in the same place'.

It keeps the conspiracy theorists on their toes, and allows you to have fun.

Intentionally cause sightings of the full 'team' of Cheerleadras (The Cheerleadra Squad!) via TF Gun stuff (maybe incorporate his friends powers and looks into the other identities: Pixie, the tiny fairy Squaddie. Brute, the Obviously Just Greg Squaddie. Dire Beast, the Wolverine style Squaddie . And last but not least, Doctor Gendra, mad scientist Squaddie. Elliot is the leader Cheerleadra.

His friends can opt into helping him maintain these, to obfusticate his own identity.

  4. Gee, I wonder why Pandora, who shares a name with the woman who released all the evils in the universe from containment, isn't a big fan of people being empowered based on a name.

I can imagine that would rankle, for the universe to discretly snark at her naming decision, and indirectly suggest that she is releasing the potential for great evil into the world.

(side note never browse the internet in a dark forest because moths are BLOODY TERRIFYING)

  5. Haha~! A fire type! That could be construed as wanting pyromancer abilities...

And... There's already been one flamy guy. To do it again would be boring.

Damn. You win this time, random girl who will surely not by pure chance get herself in the social circle of the people I semi-protect!

    next tiiiiime!

  6. It just occured to me many things.

1, Pandora can seemingly shapeshift at will and do so freely. That has strong Prototype-style morphing possibilitied... Are immortals limited by their biomass or can they draw more flesh from magic? Could she plausibly stretch herself big enough to form a planetary shield in a crisis (arguably maybe doesn't break any rules if she just so happens to be that shape whilst an attacker comes I reckon)? If everyone was magic, couldn't she engulf everyone into her mass since they're less mortal potentially?

2... The Emissary isn't Tensaided, is he? I'm thinking now because super classic wizard design, but... hmm. Both have majestic hair...

    3. Emissary totally unintentionally copped a good look at her nether regions by how her skirt flowed in the third panel. Not trying to be a creeper but he probably saw more than he ought to.

    4. Her ears get pointier as she gets angrier. Theory due to this comic's furry moments: immortals started off as animalistic deities. Some might have been beserkers (bear skinned) who ascended to immortality through magic, others were simply immortals formed of bel... Wait. Immortal not equals deity, does it? Nah. They're too demigoddish to be full deities... Greek? Pandora is mostly Welsh-Norse in style and nature, reminds me of the Pobl Teg/Sidhe style elves, but then you got whatshisname the Santaish immortal being super Germanic.

  7. When you have phenomenal cosmic POWAAA, the only solution to resolve your woes is the slot machines.

To be honest, I've been thinking about Pandora's question: 'power for a day', and my first thought goes to mass necromancy of all dead past and present.

Preferably not to create zombies, but to temporarily revive members of the human species who are still of use to humanity's endeavours.

This would cause mass chaos, sure, and logistical issues with organ donors, but I feel the net gains to humanity by turning the planet into a one-day necropolis will give the world perspective and wisdom.

  8. I get the feeling that Dan is a fan of Looney Toons with how much Pandora acts like Daffy Duck sometimes. Or Pandora is a fan. Or both. Actually now I think about it, it's confirmed Dan is a fan because of the reference to the war quote in the old 'facing the squirrels' NP plot with the Monty Python reference!

Sidebar: Pandora's hair looks almost double-squirrel tail ish with the messy sticky out bits in this.

And this is taking place in Grace's mind... Dreamscape... Non-rainbow magic magubbins.

random unlikely sidetheory: spend enough time in someone else's mind without protections and an empathetic erosion will begin making you more like that person in your own mind, since you're exposing your mind solely to the materialised thoughts of their mind. This would be a long term thing, so everyone's safe here, but it seems plausible.

  9. A thought occurs that this exists entirelt to explain why magic doesn't pop up in their history so it's justified that their world resembles ours...

And maybe magic is... Very combat oriented. Fireballs. Transhuman augmentation and transformation. Even levitation of objects can be dangerous, as Matilda fans can attest.

Once again, EGS reminds me of Wildbow's Worm. Superpowers drive people towards conflict.

Perhaps there's a system in place within magic to prevent annihalation of the life forms that use it?

Magi-Nukes would be incredibly possible with certain magic systems...

Once again, it begs the questions: Who's writing the spellbooks, and why is magic something suited to that person? What happens if a destructive murderer type gets ahold of magic? What happens, if anything, if you cast a spell from another's spellbook?

Where does the energy come from?

(I'm betting right now it's soul energy. Most magic systems in fiction end up fueled by the dead eventually.)

They will graduate.  Eventually.  This is Moperville, not Riverdale.

It would be interesting (as an update reader. Probably not so interesting to see it once the plots are done and archived) to see what the characters do with themselves careerwise.

Grace is pretty much guaranteed to work for the government as a Special Operative once she lets loose on some justifiably mauleable villans. Tedd is going to probably end up as Q for her. Also it is cute to imagine them making Bond jokes at each other as adults.

Elliot's kinda gotten into the superhero gig, so maybe he can sell insurance as a superhero themed mascot once magic is changed into something sustainable.

Mr Tensaided will continue to be the best character in EGS and continually be awesome, even in old age.

  11. Maybe all magic shifts to full focus alien magitech (because magic) for a while to lay low til the coast is clear, then when the time is right, BAM! Unicorns and fairies as far as the (selected few) eye can see.

Also, 'Magic' in this case is totally probably a order obsessed opposite to Pandora... Let's call it... Tyr Law Chickenhawk to keep with the naming schema.

  12. bad touch grace needs adult

Seriously though I'm not sure if Pandora can do much beyond have a gander and... 'guide and empower'. That's it.

Look or indirectly aid, and she's purely not in the mood to aid...

Ooh, maybe she'll see the spooky many horned skull thing from Grace's dreams years ago irl and we'll find out what that was about.

Sure.  I just want to know how you got Grace's email address.

Surely... It involved... A very old... OLD... skill that he posesses.

Yes, I propose, that the Old Hack, master of hackery, did the deed through that very specific skill which he does posess.

What skill is that, that the man known for the word hack could have used to hack his way into getting such dangerous information?

    Why, he merely asked politely.

  14. I still am suss, but that's because I mistrust any knife eared lady with more mojo in her than a blade can cut down.

Also... Raven shares neither of hos parents hair colours. Sure, greyscale, but it seems like his hair colour should be important maybe?
