  1. Considering the three "royals" on this Earth (Nanase, Edward Verres, & Rhoda) that we know of are all good people, I'd say that their actions AREN'T justified. The problem is clearly with their political system, which is corrupting their world's royals.

  2. And more to the point, these three basically want to steal somebody's magic powers so that one of them can become Uryoum royalty. They seem convinced that "royals" are always evil. (Which makes them hypocrites, in addition to their planned and preexisting crimes). However, that is clearly not the case, as the only "crowned ones" (for want of a better term) that we know of on the EGS side are Edward Verres, Nanase Kitsune, and Rhoda, who all seem to be good people.

This plan does not seem to be well thought through at all.

  3. Actually, I agree with Noah about the dangers of a werewolf apocalypse, having seen Dog Soldiers. Seeing an entire platoon of elite soldiers getting slaughtered by a pack of werewolves made me realize that I'd rather deal with a pack of zombies than a single werewolf.

  4. The features are not the problem - it's the fact that her appearance changes when she either successfully resists a spell or casts a powerful spell to give herself a speed boost. Since her appearance changes back when she's not expending magic energy, this implies that someone (probably her biological mother) cast an illusion spell on her to disguise her pointed ears. The spell must draw upon her own magic reserves, so if she expends sufficient magic energy, it lapses until she stops expending her magic.

  5. Considering the fact that her ears changed from round to pointed when she resisted the mirror, and again when she caught up to Noah, it seems likely that she's under a similar enchantment to her father. It seems to be powered by her own magic energy, so if she uses too much magic, the spell lapses, and she reverts to her true, pointed-ears, appearance.

This implies that her mom was also a half-immortal, or at the very least a wizard, as that sort of specialized illusion would most likely only be granted to a half-immortal.

Since it's been established in EGS canon that if both parents are wizards, their children will always be wizards, Diane is also a wizard (as was shown when she smelt the door's magic).

However, the illusion normally blocks her ability to detect magic, so Diane would probably need to concentrate to detect magic, unless the illusion has been turned off.

  6. And nobody is mentioning the fact that, while enraged, Diane was able to catch up to Noah, who seems to be a greater chimera, which, if Grace is an example, seem to be physically superior to most humans? Has she just awakened and learnt a spell that boosts her running speed?

And as for Diane's odd behaviour, remember, she hates "Nerds" (who triggered her "rage face"), and has been cutting herself off from her family because of her "deadbeat dad" and who (she thinks) is running away from her. And Noah has basically been stalking her.

And remember her "convincing spell"? If she has it running while enraged, she's probably far more terrifying than she realises.

Also, would you want to talk to an enraged Diane? Judging by his inner dialogue, I think that this was a strategic withdrawal.

  7. I will not be spending money on J.K. Rowling's books- not because of her transphobia, but because her writing has gone down the metaphorical drain. I couldn't read the whole of the Cursed Child, and The Casual Vacancy, while I did manage to complete it, was just plain horrible.

May I suggest reading Mercedes Lackey books instead?

  8. Actually,  I wonder if Lord Tedd is trying to kill Seers. Being himself a Seer, he would probably assume that all Tedds are Seers, and would focus on killing them most of all.

The reason why I'm thinking about this is becauseTerra seems to be a standard wizard, not as Seer, so if my hunch is right, she  might not be targeted, or Lord Tedd would stop the attack if he realised she's not a Seer.
