      Welcome!   03/05/2016

Welcome, everyone, to the new 910CMX Community Forums. I'm still working on getting them running, so things may change.  If you're a 910 Comic creator and need your forum recreated, let me know and I'll get on it right away.  I'll do my best to make this new place as fun as the last one!

  1. You miss my point. A talking item would be considered obvious magic up until fairly recently. Also if Ashley really is a "sleeping" wizard (to use EGS terminology) then Kevin is actually at least as useful than the current magic detection wand, and not as annoying.

In other words, it's possible that sentient items were a cause of one of the prior magic resets.

  2. Actually, has anyone else thought about how Tedd will react when he first meets Kevin? As far as we know, Kevin & the damaged golem are the only sentient artefacts in the main EGs universe. Could one of the magical resets have stopped sentient items from working? Considering how unsubtle Kevin is being, that seems to be a reasonable guess.

  3. I've been wondering whether Noah (and Luke) are both wizards. Luke's magic mark enables him to detect magical energy, so it's possible that he as he hasn't awakened yet, he only has the detect magic ability. Considering the fact that Dan seemed to focus on the similarities between Luke and Tedd (who's been revealed to be a rare variant type of wizard) during the tournament storyline, could it be likely that Luke is a potential wizard?

As for why Noah could be a wizard, doesn't anybody else think it odd that Noah has an elven wizard for a guardian?

And with the reference much earlier in the comic to "did it set off any of your other senses" (if I'm remembering rightly) Adrian  implies that Noah has senses that normal people don't. Such as mage senses, perhaps?

So if I understood Dan's commentary correctly, he needed a way to explain why every person in the world wasn't at the same place at the same time.

I have contemplated that question at many times.  Why do humans need to drift apart from one another?

    On to other matters.

    Languages.

Almost every humanish person we have met so far in EGS is able to speak conversational English.

    Japanese
    Conversational to Fluent:
The entire Kitsune family.  Presumably Noriko, as Mrs Kitsune's sister, she would have a similar background.
Some: Tedd Verres, Sensei Greg, and Ashley.  Mostly on the grounds that they are Anime fans.

    French
    Conversational to Fluent:
      Nanase, Gillian.
Some:  Susan.  Enough to take the French Club trip to Paris.

    Uryuomoco
    Fluent
: Elliot, Edward, Grace and Tedd.  Also all the Uryuoms.
Anyone who has physically contacted a Uryuom may have learned the Uryuomoco. I would guess Agent Wolf does not know Uryuomoco because even though he is a powerful wizard working for government on matters of magical law enforcement and investigation, he does not know that aliens exist on Earth. He suspects a lot with good reason. But for some reason, someone has ordered Edward Verres and his superiors to keep that info from Wolf.

    Animals
    Conversational to Fluent:
      Grace.

Knowledge of second languages may be far more extensive among the EGS Characters.  These are the only examples I recall seeing demonstrated on panel.

Considering  Agent Wolf believes Lavender has access to mind control spores, it's not surprising that nobody's told him about aliens.

  5. Actually, we never really see Wolf casting any spells do we? We did see Agent Cranium darken Elliot's hair. Plus there's that ability she has to scan nearby areas. Given that Pandora said to Sarah "the only other person he found with your spell was strongarmed into top-secret government work", it's likely that Agent Cranium is that relative of Sarah's. If that's the case she's likely an S-rank caster, given that Sarah pseudo-Time Stop ability is supposed to be an S-ranked spell.
