Have you noticed that name affinities kind of don't fit very well with magic wanting to keep itself mostly secret?

Not really, you still need some source/spark to start your access to Magic, Name affinities just shape how your path will go if you ever get that start. I would assume that only a small % of name affinities actually get spells.

Also, considering when we last saw Pandora, there might be more going on in those cases then just their name ;)

Alas, yes. After the magic change, Tedd will need to enchant rings instead. So we will have to settle for flight rings.

I would prefer a flight pip-boy, which hopefully might also fix the being to small to work outside an area with abundant magic problem, as that would be several times larger then a watch, and larger then a wand.

  3. If Diane's father is Susan's Uncle that could explain a resemblance, but we are dealing with identical susan's pre-awakening.

Now if Susan's paternal uncle hooked up with her mothers sister, and they gave the baby away to hide a family scandal that might explain it.

Though given the illusion Raven put on Grace, I half expect them to both be descended from Pandora through Raven, and he does not know it.

Are we ever going to get the full story behind George?

Maybe Dan could start another side story about George in the Sister 3 arc and delay Pandora, Susan and Diane, and the Griffons return even more?

george might be more fun as an NP.

I would say that, but between Liz, Goth Ashley, Goth Elliot and, of course, Mall!Goth Elliot there are too many to just go with a blanket no.  Goths don't look right with out their makeup.

when appropriate and done well lipstick and makeup in general are a fine addition, Though I have seen to many teenage girls who go overboard and do not do a good job of it.

  6. As for why Adrian would be at the Mall, why not? Looking for a new cat toy for Max? Giving Noah a ride because letting Noah fly there would be a bad idea? Cinnabon?
    Needing more Player/Pimp outfits...
Something to note: The only time the entire Circle of Eight have been together all at once was Grace's Birthday Party.
I thought they were all together for the Ellen creation debriefing as well.

Well, they already knew some pretty weird things happen at Tedd's house.  Short of taking away his son's best friend, there's not a lot Mr. Verres could do to prevent Elliot finding out, and I can't help but think Elliot wound up coming home either changed by something Tedd did, or accompanied by a changed Tedd.  Not to mention stuff like their science class Goo coming to life, which their teacher seemed to see as par for the course.

Look at the principals reaction to a gender swapped Elliot asking him to have the teachers cover up the change with that flimsy story.

Dresden Files aren't only one which presents fairies as dangerous.

Folklore presents Fairies as dangerous, though most people are only familiar pop-culture references and not folklore itself.

Heck I have caught people reference something as part of the myth/folklore because they are familiar with it from D&D. Even if it was changed for the game, or created by it. Kobolds in D&D 3.0 onwards being a prime example of people thinking the game version is the folklore origins.

Apparently this landscaping guy was someone who thought natural grass should look like Astroturf.

To be fair allot of people think that way, believing the only there should be any flowers of any kind is in a flower bed.

There's a hint in Squirrel Prophet that one of Luke's friends knows about General Shade Tail,

If you're referring to this exchange, they were talking about Noah.

Yup, and the dialog seem to imply that Luke saw Noah but did not really interact with him. Definitly not enough to be a Friend. Which is supported by his terrified fleeing at scanning Grace

So Tedd has lots of magic energy (from the first panel)?  But we also know that Tedd has been scanned by his parents and has seemingly no magic potential.  And his gauntlet was created to drain some of his magic energy and store it for use later, since he thinks he has little available energy for spells, just enough to trigger the watches.  Little enough energy that the magic mark he has should only work while there is extra ambient energy.

So, lots of what kind of magic energy?  We do know he seems energized (and glows) when he makes new discoveries about magic (or has intense feelings of love).

And how will the Griffins react to him???

...and probably much longer to speculate about his ultra-secret hush-hush tell-no-one second purpose. Goodie!

He chooses which movies win the oscars???

Seriously though I suspect it is something like the real ruler of the Galaxy in the Hitchikers guide...

Yes, dot-matrix printers still have superior reliability in terms of pages printed between failures, and their ribbon-based ink is less finicky and lasts longer per cartridge than toner. The "endless paper" feed also helps when creating endless/continuous documents--e.g. near-real-time status printouts. Really, the only disadvantages for text printing (which doesn't need the high-resolution of laser or inkjet printing) are the lower print speed and the noise.

I thought the noise was an advantage, feels more authentic and all that.

I like that all these high-tech scientists use dot-matrix computers with pin-feed paper.

    They still have uses...

and are you going to spend your hard fought research money on a printer, or a new toy for doing the research itself...

The EGS universe just took a turn for the weird.

I hate to see your definition of Normal if EGs is just taking a turn tot he weird instead of on page 8

With good enough gene therapy, genetic engineering, and other birth related technology, building a population from 2 individuals would certainly be possible. A large investment of resources but possible. Though I vaguely remember something about genetic engineering being frowned upon in the Star Trek verse due to Kahn and his ilk.

Also I had another thought of a possible reason for aliens to invade the Earth. To wipe out humans in order to spite another alien species or group that had taken an observational interest in humanity (kinda like hobbyist bird watchers)

If there are enough samples of the DNA left you could even use cloning and gene therapy to replenish the genetic diversity with the original genome.

Though in Star Trek the issue was needing them now, not in the couple decades it would have taken to recreate the species using scrimshaw and other remains as a genetic basis for cloning
