Diane's first appearance was the Monday before Grace's birthday, which was back in early March of the previous year, which technically was still winter.

Of course it's entirely possible that March was particularly warm at that time and we are currently still in January so who knows. I'm not really expecting to see Diane go back to wearing those outfits when it does get warmer considering all that's happened and her hanging out with Nanase and Ellen more and depending on how things turn out with Susan.

There are multiple exterior scenes before that which show it was clearly no longer winter conditions.

A good example is in Sister http://www.egscomics.com/index.php?id=200Look how they are dressed for going out at night...

Something in plain sight just became conscious.  Diane has changed her "look" drastically.

Stereotype-Diane used to dress sexy/skanky to entice boys to spend money on her and her friends.  She's not doing it anymore or at least isn't this Monday.  That seems to signal a state of mind change.

Or that is is winter and cold outside.

    EDIT :

diane on her most recent (chronologically) date that we have seen.

Of Diane's winter appearances for this school year the only time we have not seen her in a sweater or hoodie was Saturday night

    The Avengers?

So who is Steed and who is Peel?

I would have prefered a "Against the World Crime League" Buckaroo Banzai reference.

// I Just Love Christopher Lloyd constantly correcting everyone on his character's name.

And in the commentary here, Dan actually admits to having watched Battlefield Earth!  Poor boy, I hope he at least had a Rifftrack going....this is one of the bravest admissions yet!  ;-)

I actually saw it that when it was in theatres, But there are no scientologists anywhere close to where I grew up so I did not have the background knowledge to make those connections, and just saw that there was a Sci-fi movie out that, and I was bored.

Also ... Wolf not knowing about aliens and still being allowed to see Lavender? I think someone was making fun of him just before explaining it.

This is what I think as well.

It kind of feels like Hazing the new hot-shot who may need a lesson in humility.

If you are a member of the main 8 or primary secondary cast and you go to the mall, something will happen.  Attempted mugging, revealing Grace's powers, the start of meddling teenagers, griffins, etc.

you forgot about the "not a date" dates ;)

It just occurred to me that it would make perfect sense to retcon these two into being part of Luke's group.

Of course not all LGBTQ people know each other, but it would make sense for a transwoman who suddenly gained the ability to change peoples sexes (which is strongly implied by Pandora's remarks) to discretely promote her services to other people in the same situation as her. If she does so over a local LGBTQ forum, she might catch the attention of Luke.

I have been hoping this arc would introduce some of Luke's group for a while.

And  they do not have to know each other when one of the people can see who has magic and might be scanning crowds (at a LGBTQ event/club/clothing store/etc) at random the odds of a change meeting increase.

Um, William taught the Uryuom language to Elliot after Ellen was created, not before.

I have checked that a few time as well, and William is introduced post diamond.

Though Ellen probably learned the language in her alternate world dream 2nd life, and They might have had everyone learn it by now anyway...

Do we have a word of dan on who speaks what languages???

Second, forcing a magic reset as a Nuclear option?  I wasn't sure if the government was aware of the reset potential, now I know they are seriously letting, or even causing that event just to make administration of magic easier.  As Leonard McCoy so eloquently observed, "The bureaucratic mentality is the only constant in the universe."

To me it feel like a not fully thought out solution.

It fixes the problem they are dealing with right now, but leads to allot more down the road, as what happens if the first to discover major magic are more like not-Tengu then like elliot.

Do the vamps die, or do they survive relatively unaffected, and run wild until someone can start hunting them?

Do they currently need magic as a deterrent or to defend against any threats tat would not be affected (like potential hostile aliens, unstoppable hoards of doom, etc)?

Also as soon as someone gets magic again (which could be any time) they run the risk of exposure again thanks to camera phones, Elliot was right Magic needs to compromise as tech has hit the point it is to hard to hide. A reset is just not going to work.

I'm sure they're just supposed to be avoiding each other's gaze, but I can't help but think they both seem rather... distracted.

It does kind of look like they each are sizing up one the other 2 people in panel 2, with their gazes not changing until panel 5-6

Sarah would be the only one not to attend that unless she or someone else tells Edward about her spell. While cutting to Sarah training under "Box" will likely happen anyway, it'd still be weird if she's isolated from the rest of the group like that.

Her summer work with Ted means she probably knows enough about using artifacts by now that they would still want her... for training as an R&D tech

    2) The disadvantage of call is that you can interrupt something. People don't always like being called, especially when sleeping.

That is what voicemail is for.

If you are busy let it go to voicemail and call back once free.

Do not want to be woken up while asleep, turn off the ringer, or use an app that turns it off during specific times/conditions.

Sarah could easily have just waited till she got to school to tell Elliot about it.

On most Monday's sure, but not THIS Monday...

There is going to be to much gossip and onlookers for the level of privacy needed for that conversation.

I wasn't using the cards as a guide. I was using the articles from Mark Rosewater that I linked in the first post. And to quote the Black article, "For example, black is the color that stresses the importance of the individual." A big part of Ellen's identity has been about defining who she is as an individual, especially in defining how she is not Elliot. Arguably black might be added to others as competitiveness (the desire to prove oneself better than others) is also a black trait, though that would depend on whether or not said competitiveness is a core driver to the character's actions.

I could potentially see blue as part of Ellen. She can be a bit of a trickster.

Did you even read that article, or did you just skim it for a keyword that you could try sum up a complex meaning in to one word?????

Black being about the individual means it a me first mentality, which Ellen does NOT have.

Black is about selfishness and greed. It is the most self-centered of the colors.

Red also has strong individuality in its flavour.

I have been playing MtG since just before Homelands was released, I have read enough of the lore to understand that each color is complex and can not be summed up in 1 word,

While Ellen doesn't have the absolute depravity associated with the Rakdos guild, she does show strong traits in the component Colors. Though I would like to hear what Colors you think she would fit.

She does not show the selfishness associated with black.  Name 1 iconic black card she has shown a resemblance to, 1.

Ellen definitely has form trickery in her that means she should have at least some blue.

Ellen: Red/Black:In her drive to differentiate herself from Elliot, Ellen embraced her impulses and emotional drive. She also heavily values her individuality. She likely still has a good splash of white to her, as she retains some of Elliot's core values, like morality and justice, just not as strong as they are in Elliot. It's also a nice bit of coincidental symbolism that she fits into the two colors opposite of white.

    Ellen is NOT Rakdos...

I think Susan was five and hadn't started school yet. Indicators? She couldn't read very well yet, and she hadn't met Sarah, who didn't know Susan was a blonde until they were in high school.

I thought they did not meet until junior high, while Sarah grew up with Elliot.
