I'm not so sure, the woman Susan caught her dad with seemed pretty young, like college aged, if it was Diane's mom, she could have probably been underaged when she gave birth to Diane, which I guess would be a good reason for Diane being put up for adoption, but that would also mean that Mr Pompoms committed statutory rape.

We do not actually know how old susan's parents are, but the blonde could easily be early to mid 20's in the flashback (Not everyone ages at the same rare, and from full development to when wrinkles start to show up apparent age depends on allow os changeable factors, hair style alone can affect it), and but susan looks young enough that the blonde could have been around 18 or maybe even a little older when she was born.

That and age of consent varies from state to state starting at like 16, still pervy but not necessarily illegal.

Then again, if you really want to see the Foglios and their crew cut loose on science (or rather, SCIENCE!), I can only highly recommend the Girl Genius webcomic. It is absolutely brilliant. Mind you, its archive is HUGE by now so be warned: anyone who goes to look may not return for days. Or weeks.

I only started reading Girl Genius just over a year ago (this was the newest comic, one of the few comics where I remember exactly where it was), and have read it through twice in that time period.

That said, I agree with this statement....

Enough with the establishing and background and set up and preliminaries.

To quote a line that was almost certainly never uttered by Marie Antoinette,

LET THEM PLAY IN TEA INFUSED CUPCAKE FROSTING

    Fixed it for you. ;)

    Fixed your fix.

Please we do not want the tea spilling and washing away the frosting...

Not when it can be used an an ingredient for the frosting.

I can't seem to find that "few comics further"; little help?

Anyway, we know Elliot can alter his morphed appearance(s) and even the psychology of his special "secret ID" morphs if he puts his mind to it. But when he morphed into Cheerleadra at Salty Crackers, at the dojo, and at the mall, they were all emergency conditions. He knew he had to be Cheerleadra right now or people were liable to be hurt or killed. Given Elliot's luck, when this happens again, there will be loads of people around with cellphone cameras.

Anyway, I'm thinking that one of the ways Edward's Cunning Plan might unravel is for the manufactured incident by whomever is performing as Cheerleadra happen at the same time a real emergency demanding the real Cheerleadra occurs at Moperville North.

And I'm disappointed that none of you picked up on "cunning plan" being a Blackadder reference in my earlier post.

Edward <> Baldric, also don't Baldrick's plans usually involve a turnip, or am I remembering.

Going to have to re-watch the series now, fortunately I just bought it on DVD last month...

Never watched it.  The phrase "cunning plan" is too generic to expect it to be recognized as being a reference.

    You poor deprived girl/guy/thing/etc...

Did you say any thing about a tail or weasel?  If you didn't not really a Blackadder reference, now is it?

A Weasel, is that what I was forgetting, I know there was always something weird that had no place there in his plans.

Now, why as I associating Baldrick with turnips...

It hasn't been fully explained how wizards learn spells, Tedd said it could be just a matter of seeing the spell in action, but may not be that simple. Wolf may be one of the most powerful wizards in the midwestern US, but I don't think one look at Elliot turning into Cheerleadra would instantly let him do it.

One would assume reading the users spell book would help, it is a common enough fantasy trope...

I think there may be an overarching plot inconsistency with Edward getting so involved in order to  protect Elliot here.

When Edward got kicked upstairs, as punishment for being so personally attached to local paranormal matters that he broke protocol by zapping someone who'd already surrendered, this is what Dan had to say in the commentary:

Yet here we have Edward planning to manufacture a Cheerleadra sighting in order to protect Elliot, to whom he has a personal attachment because Elliot is his son's lifelong best friend. Doesn't that contradict Dan's "from now on, the gang will have to do without Edward's help" warning? Or am I reading all of this wrong?

    He is not protecting Elliot.

He is protecting himself and his office, by protecting Elliot. Anything that shines more light on Elliot shines more light on elliots circle of friends, which could lead to added scrutiny and possible (accidental) leaks involving Veeres himself...

Besides that I am pretty certain he can easily talk them into directing attention away form Elliot since Elliot knows things they still want to keep secret, and less attention is less chance of spilling secrets.

Though I doubt he has much to do, probably just give Cranium a Cheerledra clone form watch, and Wolf a Mall-Date Elliot clone form watch, and ask both to be seen in public at the same time, in different locations while elliot is at school.

Of course since we know Wolf is a wizard, he could just ask Wolf to learn the spell, and no need for a clone form ;)

    Not everything is about Ponies.

    sometimes it is about Bronies...

Followed by Larry, then maybe Rich, not sure who the last two would be though.

#3's hair is wrong for Rich. The other 2 are kind of small, and the WASPiness of the major characters makes them a bit hard to place.

Also the secret was apparently kept from Diane only (Rhoda's parents knew and were OK with it, being major liberals and all). So referring to Rhoda's orientation doesn't really make sense here.

Though it was more Grace letting that slip then Catalina. Elliot only knew that Catalina had a girlfriend, it was Grace's reaction to the kiss that led them to realize it was Rhoda.

It's a bit strange to me that DGB can't get at adoption papers.

Susan's check would have been pre-Abraham, Diane's check would have been like a month ago at most.

Edwards access to documents has probably changed, and the adoption papers are probably harder to access anyway due to privacy laws. Plus there might not be anything there to link diane to Susan, as her mother might not have listed a father, or the right person when she gave Diane up.

Though, I would laugh if Diane was the result of "accidental" cheating like "Sorry I got drunk and slept with your sister" cheating due to intoxication, and not an ongoing affair. He might not have even known about Diane if it was a 1 night stand. for all we know Mrs. Pompoms (and diane's mother) might have both been pregnant when Mrs. Pompoms married the father.

Though I fully expect the other woman in susan's flashback was Diane's mother.

I choose to remain skeptical. Edward has been shown not to be infallible as far as his information goes.

Edward is looking at Hospital records, but Hospital records do not show everything.

There are things that would make them related but not necessarily show on the records.

    • One could have been switched at birth and it would not be in the records.
    • They could be half-siblings, and the mistress did not list the real father.
    • Orphan Black shenanigans, or just a mix-up at a in vitro clinic

I would just question, as long as both of them acquires, if Liz' spell will have an effect on Ashley's (in any way possible).

I am kind of expecting Ashley to not get anything due to "boring" options (That and I want to see Pandora come up to Ashley and openly give her a mark after the Mall Date), and Liz to get something but have not shown anyone (even Ashley) yet due to fear of MiB scenarios, we have only seem her what twice in comic after this chronologically.

Since Pandora was looking for spells that are not subtle and difficult to hide, I am guessing this is the opposite of both, I am guessing some kind of stealth or disquise spell

Dan says it's possible to guess what Pandora wants Sarah to do, with one assumption.

My first thought is that it involves Carol. and the sister in the title is referring to their relationship.

If Pandora wants to stop a change in Magic, the first thing to do is "debunking" the evidence of Magic she helped create, and manipulation the reporter involved is probably a good angle to pursue along that path, I doubt it would solve everything, but it would probably by time to fix other problems.
