  1. At least now we know this storyline is sometime after Christmas, but before the Friday Night Magic tourny (I think it was Friday anyway). Tedd's hair is a dead giveaway. I am thinking it might tie in even more directly as well. Eliot is pointing out Tedd's liking of gendered transformations in a very direct way, rather than his normal offhand manner. Having been in a somewhat similar situation before, this may be the catalyst that causes Tedd to change his hair. (as well as the semi-Freudian psychology of weak male pieces being turned into strong female pieces, perhaps mirroring how gender-fluid Tedd often does not feel right as male)

As for the rest, I suck at chess (my strategy is "baffle them with bullshit"), so I am not going to comment on that.

This what was I was talking about where Hedge lied. Damien stated "You should have at least brought back a female." Elliot later asked Hedge about it. And then later still when Nanase and Ellen made their way in, Hedge was concerned about there being women in the Nest and was trying to think about a way to keep Damien from finding out.

You know, Hedge was actually a pretty smart guy, he didn't want Damien to succeed in his plans but he knew he couldn't confront Damien directly so he did everything he could to delay Damien. It was likely his idea to get Grace out of the Nest to find help and then he took as long as possible to "find" her. When he met Elliot, yeah he didn't know that the cat form was caused by a piece of transformation technology but still he knew there was something about Elliot that made him think that he could be useful in some way. Taking only him instead of both him and Sarah insured that a rescue would be made. He probably didn't expect Grace to be part of the rescue team nor other females, but it still resulted in Damien's defeat.

Ah, I remember that part now, thanks.

Somehow I am now imagining Susan as being the most like Rarity--she pretends to be all aloof and dignified, but is actually really kind underneath.

The way that Sarah and Ellen have been talking, it seems that Sarah has already broken up with Elliot . . .

I know, that's why I always assumed this took place around the current EGS storyline (Tourny night or thereabouts). Liontari made me question that belief for a while until I recalled what was happeneing with Sarah at Christmastime.

We know Hedge lied about Elliot being alone when he brought him to the nest, he had also stated that if he couldn't find Grace, he was under orders to bring back any female which means Damien didn't have to use Grace for breeding. Grace was the preferred choice but Damien would have used what was avaliable. Sarah could have been taken as well, and forced into breeding by Damien, but Hedge let her go with the information needed to mount a rescue mission.

I remember Hedge being told not to come back empty handed, but I don't recall him being told to bring back another female besides Grace. Not saying Damian didn't ever say that, but B/C I am tired if he did I can't recall.

It isn't completely impossible for the script to have changed. The commentary you linked to almost seems to treat Tedd as a means of establishing the temporal location of this story relative to the tournament. But today's final panel strongly suggests Christmas/December anyway. I guess we'll find what/who they are looking at on Friday.

I almost agreed with you on the time table, but then I remembered that Christmas was the time when Sarah and Elliot were breaking up. IMO I don't think Sarah would bee keen to work on an MV5 while she was having relationship issues.

That makes sense. Though, if the spidervamp was a tailor before, he may have a monster and non-monster form, and not need to have disappeared.

(Too lazy to hunt down the entire quote chain)

Well, SpiderVamp was a spider, so he'd have his own supply of thread. In this comic: (http://www.egscomics.com/index.php?id=2145) It even shows him with some kind of thread like substance... Though that might had just been some kind of glowing magical construct rather then an actual thread.

  7. This entire story line has had me feeling for various characters and/or laughing at how the situation can be like my life at times. In this particular case I live in a nudist household. I am pretty fine with my room mates seeing me in just about any state of dress/undress. But when we all hear a particular boyfriend (Or worse, family) walks through the door *zoom* all of a sudden everyone is dressed.
