  1. In hindsight, Tedd really should have tested these after magic was changed.

Tedd has been so certain for so long that there is a hard limit to how much shrinkage magic can cause that seeing someone exceed that limit just because they didn't know it was a limit must be a startling revelation

And Tedd's life has been little besides a series of startling revelations over the last few years

It's a combination of that, and that since the rules for magic have changed, that includes older rules that did not have the limitations of the old new system.

  2. I mean....."somebody who identifies differently from the gender they were assigned at birth" is not ambiguous. if you try to nitpick that then you're diving into unnecessary hair splitting. Nobody is arguing that all trans people are alike, it's just that they all share that one trait, which does not speak anything about their individual character or identity, just of the general consideration. I have no interest in getting embroiled in the various interpersonal conflicts that mar the dignity of our being.

Also, I still haven't gotten used to the fact that fashions in EGS no longer fit what one would expect to see in the present-day (or '00s) real world.

In universe, I think the timeline hard diverged because of magic, but out of universe, I think Dan doesn't know that much about what clothes are "in" and that's okay because who even needs that.

In any case, it's not a cavewoman outfit, it's just a swooshy pattern on a shirt. It would make more sense with color.

Video Games tend to be hit or miss with the ambient lighting in rooms and caves. I've lit a single candle in a dark room during a power outage and could at least see where things were in the room, but in some games, a torch only lights up a 3' radius around you.

Then there's the games that are like those movies where everything is supposed to be pitch darkness, but is mysteriously lit up by imaginary moonlight.

Compare to Minecraft, where you can make out the shapes of things, but can't really see all too clearly otherwise.

Well, I wasn't expecting an extended "will they or won't they" period, it's just that I don't see how more than a minute or two has passed since Diane learned Lucy was even interested in her; unless Diane already had feelings for Lucy or hasn't thought this through, that seems fast even considering everything you've said.

Mind you, I wouldn't be shocked if Diane did have feelings for Lucy; I'd also be willing to accept the idea that Diane thought very quickly if we learn what those thoughts were. In the meantime, however, not knowing what's going through Diane's head, it seems a bit jarring to me.

I think that all the pieces were more or less there, she just didn't put any of them together up until this moment. What she's looking for in a partner....somebody she's close to....somebody who cares about her deeply....if people weren't so adamant about adhering to specific physical preferences, I think they might feel the same way.

Well, Diane still hasn't technically asked Lucy out...

But seriously, this seems a little fast to me. Unless Diane already had a thing for Lucy (which has not been indicated) or is prone to impulsive actions (I don't remember any hints about this either, but I could be forgetting something), I really would have expected her to have to think about it for at least a few hours if not a few days in-story before giving any indication of interest in a relationship (except perhaps for telling Lucy that she's bisexual and is not completely ruling out the possibility).

...In other matters, I usually only cheer for actual backgrounds, not effects with foreground elements, but this is the closest thing in spirit to the old flowery backgrounds we've seen in a long time, so I'm going to make an exception. Yay for epic starburst with lens-flare in panel six!

I mean, considering how long they've known each other, I think that it's not as fast as you make it out to be. In terms of fastness, Ellen was only just created a few months before, but she decided to date Nanase pretty quickly. Tedd and Grace got together pretty fast, despite the fact that Grace had only just met *another human being besides the ones from her childhood* in a month or so. Considering how long Diane has been double dating with Lucy, I'd say they have the most experience out of everybody regarding being on dates with each other.

Ok that was a kiss, but I think it's more of a BFF kiss than an "I want you for my lover" kiss, at least from Diane's side.

okay this is like, the third time I've seen people refer to a full mouth kiss as a BFF kiss, where the hell were these "just friends" kisses when I was growing up lol

Also did the comic DELBERLIATLEY ADVERISE it’s selling point was it had no social agenda, or did it come across as having none after flipping through it?

the whole "Diversity and Comics" brand is cultivated specifically to disguise its persistent conservative boy's club rhetoric, in the larger campaign by such political groups to introduce its brand of bigotry through attempting to appeal to civility and fair discussion in the most absolute bad faith that one could have

so, yes, it specifically markets itself to the gamer dudebros as a continuation of this shit going down
