So now this is "Parable 2: The search for Grace"?
  2. Story Monday April 13 2020

I just don't see how a twitter thread where Dan wonders if he ever had Elliot explain why he chose something a simple as blonde hair for being able to differentiate from Ellen and the need to elaborate about it in an upcoming comic as "he totally wants a wand for Ashley". Elliot reacting from his gut would more likely be "a spell with little chance of messing up? I'll take it!"
  3. Story Monday April 13 2020

The tweet I linked earlier referenced the comic where Elliot is explaining how tricky it can be to tweak some features without going overboard with others, and there was also the problem certain features defaulting to "FV5" at bad times, so it would seem like Elliot's asking for a wand with a spell that won't default to an "FV5" figure if Elliot only wants to change face/hair/eyes/etc.
  4. Story Monday April 13 2020

But Elliot knows that's not possible now, at least the "Magic Change" threat is no longer a factor, dunno any other way Elliot would lose the ability to use magic. Even if areas with low ambient energy, Elliot's own energy should provide enough to transform a few times a day before he needs to rest.
  5. Story Monday April 13 2020

https://twitter.com/elgoonishshive/status/1249756966286757888 We're going to have Elliot explain next comic anyway, but yeah seems like this would be the reason Elliot would like a wand.
  6. NP Sat April 11 2020

Only thing I can think of is this character is another player that hacked in through the co-op system.
  7. NP Sat April 11 2020

I think Dan's taken this out of strictly parodying the games and doing his own spin on things.
  8. Story Friday April 10 2020

Nanase would most certainly suggest 4 boobs. Wait, Susan knows about that option as well, would she suggest it as a joke?
  9. Story Friday April 10 2020

Maybe Susan would recommend a variation of the form Justin had at Grace's birthday?
  10. Story Friday April 10 2020

This was just for hair, height and clothing, though I think they were in agreement on big boobs, well we didn't see Ellen's opinion on it but I would suspect she'd agree too.
  11. Story Wed April 8 2020

Yeah she's got a lot a different beams, but also each of them has conditionals in terms of hand gestures, I don't think she'd have duplicate spells for each gesture. It'd make just as much sense if Susan could summon a fairy, and then choose to inhabit it without having to dismiss and use a different summoning spell that specifically allows it. Also doing spells like that would make other spells obsolete, like if she can summon weapons that last longer or are more effective, and fairies that have more features available, as completely different spells, then it kinda makes the "summon stuff from a box" spell obsolete. Having 1 spell that adds features the more it gets used works just as well if not better because at least the caster doesn't have to worry about things like "oops I meant to use the spell that summons the more powerful sword, not the original one"
  12. Story Friday April 10 2020

This is one of those times I wish I was a good artist and programmer, cus this could easily become a "mix and match" game, Diane's hair with Tedd's clothes and Ellen's height? or Diane's height with Tedd's hair and Ellen's clothes? the possibilities are....well....there's 27 possibilities... but still!!!!
  13. Story Wed April 8 2020

The thing is, any weapon summoned from the box is magic already, I think mainly what the aura means is that the sword should last longer when fighting aberrations, because normally a summoned weapon would go poof after hitting someone/thing but during the mall fight, Susan took out one vampire and Adrian took out 2 more and the sword remained. that kind of an effect doesn't really require a whole new spell, especially if the fairies are still considered "summon from box" entities and yet she could potentially use them like Nanase's fairy avatar.
  14. Story Wed April 8 2020

that would suggest that Susan cast 2 spells simultaneously though, summoning the sword, and applying the aura. even my limited D&D knowledge tells me that should take 2 separate actions.
  15. Story Wed April 8 2020

I suspect her spell book isn't loaded with a lot of spells anyway, we know she got the hammers, and likely the spell for summoning things out of specified storage, and I wanna believe that the fairies are it's own spell that hooks into the summon from storage spell, rather than it being a subspell, though if weapons summoned have added features, then maybe fairies aren't that different and it may just be those two spells, and she saw the part about the weapon aura as she was looking for the fairy stuff.
  16. Story Wed April 8 2020

Both instances were the same week though, between Playing with Dolls and the aberration attack, she must have looked at her book right after getting home from Tedd's or else how would she have found out she could summon multiple fairies.
  17. Story Wed April 8 2020

I added another line to my post that you might have missed while responding.
  18. Story Wed April 8 2020

I think the fact that it is canon that Susan hadn't felt like checking her spell book due to awakening being cause by an emotional breakdown, it wouldn't be a stretch at all to believe than another emotional breakdown would cause her to lapse. Oh also, I think this page probably confirms she'd checked her spellbook after getting her new dolls.
  19. Story Wed April 8 2020

Dan has stated that Susan hasn't been in the mood to check her spellbook (and probably hasn't even used her magic) since that night, so it's fair to say she doesn't know it's changed yet. https://twitter.com/elgoonishshive/status/1248046611818831875 Of course, the week before the incident Susan was just made aware that she had to check her book to see if she got any new spells or how they worked, so she's really only had like 5-6 (if she happened to check it the day of the incident) days where she'd be most likely to read her spellbook.
  20. NP Tues April 7 2020

Well, considering the fact that "Wizards, Seers, those with magical affinities" are descended from Immortal/Human hookups, it's a pretty safe bet that there were more elves at some point. New Elves being born would have likely dropped off after Immortals decided on restricting themselves. I guess the question would be, were there still Elves around in Abraham's time? Possibly near end of life when Adrian was born? Assuming Adrian was born during Abraham's time that is.
  21. NP Tues April 7 2020

It's entirely possible that the decision to lie about Elves being able to have kids was done at the same time the decision to have 200 year resets was made, if living for too long ran the risk of becoming unstable then it makes sense that they'd want as few attachments as possible, Pandora was a good example of someone who didn't want to let go. Beyond that, most Immortals seemed to have just avoided getting too attached to humans so that Elves wouldn't result, as far as we know Adrian is the only Elf alive. Now in terms of Reset vs Refresh, it's unknown if Immortals had ever done refreshes before, or if it was just a suggestion that was put forth when Immortals were deciding how to handle the problem of instability, maybe the majority shot down the idea because they were like "No, the only way to be sure is complete reset, leave no emotional attachments intact!"(which, as Pandora also demonstrated, being emotionally attached to someone caused her to break Immortal Law) so for all we know, Pandora is the absolute first Immortal to attempt a refresh.
  22. NP Tues April 7 2020

Especially considering part of Voltaire's campaign was letting all the Immortals know that it's possible to have families among mortals. If they were to find out that he intentionally put a fellow Immortal's family in danger to force said Immortal to break the law and then be all "this wouldn't have happened if we had more freedom!", they might have things to say about it.
  23. NP Thur 9 April 2020

On thing's for sure this is definitely breaking the 4th wall of the game setting here (not yet breaking the 4th wall of the comic though, at least not in the sense that they're getting us involved). Susan apparently getting a headache....maybe the dream theory still fits here, she might have been about to realize she's dreaming and turn this into a lucid dream, but whoever this guy is, is doing something to her to prevent it? Ashley probably? but she just met Grace in canon and also found out about her lack of modesty so the nudity stuff shouldn't have surprised her. Also she thinks Susan's "Soooo cool" too so I dunno what kind of motivation she'd have here.
  24. NP Tues April 7 2020

It'd probably need to be a collective effort much like how they reset Immortals that break Immortal law, though I'm uncertain if they'd kill him, or if there's something worse than a forced reset that would be an adequate punishment.
