.... and, remember, Justin was outed before whole school. It makes sense that he's skeptical when even after being outed this way he didn't get any boyfriend.

The way Justin was outed and treated might have kept others from coming forward too, wouldn't be surprised if some joined in on the bullying out of fear of getting outed, like coming to Justin's defense would make people suspicious.

Hmmmm ... that would make sense if Justin would be thinking logically. I don't think he does, he probably operates on emotions now.

I'd say he was operating on emotions back then. This time around Justin isn't doing this because he's looking for a relationship.

...After all this time of drawing Rhoda buff, I wonder what the chance are of Dan drawing her that way accidentally the next time she shows up in the main story?

Well Justin admitted to not working out much and still got abs for days, if having Magic is responsible then Rhoda could very plausibly have fab abs in canon too.

Justin has received that kind of look before, from girls
And it meant almost nothing to him

Probably because they were giving him attention for the wrong reasons. Granted, the one that stated her frustration for not being having any chance of dating Justin might count on it's own, but it does get watered down by the rest of it...also the fact that she already had a boyfriend might not give the feeling that she'd only date someone because they might have done something cool, which makes it possible that she'd jump ship the moment someone else does something cool.

Then you have this page, where it seems like some of the people complimenting him might have been the same people that pestered him for being gay, the last two girls might have also fell under "it could have been nice to hear on it's own but the other stuff kinda diminishes the effect" also not sure how Justin would feel about people quoting disney movies in regards to him.

But guys reacting to an image that does not resemble the way Justin sees himself will probably seem as pointless as reactions from girls in whom he is not interested, eventually

When Justin became female at Grace's birthday, he had a crush of Elliot and Elliot's reaction to Justin's form only fueled that more. Maybe Justin wants to see if there's any difference between being considered attractive by someone they knew, and at the time had deep feelings for, and being considered attractive by complete strangers.

  4. It's a good thing Dan didn't go with the hand holding part or else he'd have to censor it on the website and flag the HD version on patreon as Adult Content. ;)

For context, the EGS discord has a running gag going that hand holding is considered extremely lewd.

  5. So, last night I broke a tooth eating peanuts of all things.... it's not a painful break and it happened to a molar that had a filling done last year, but it does have some edges that my tongue scrapes against which is kinda annoying.

The most annoying part though, is because of the covid-19 deal, the dentist is closed for the foreseeable future and will only accept emergency appointments, which I don't think this counts, it's not like the tooth split in half or anything, I can live with it for the time being, but yeah, this sucks.

It's closest to apocalypse from everything they lived through.

I don't recall it being like this when SARS or H1N1 were making the rounds, but then I don't recall certain organizations being this disorganized either.

And Tedd was worrying she's already revealed ... although, that question was dangerously close.

If Diane knows that Tedd's transformed as well, it's likely she's not calling her out because she could tell how anxious Tedd was when they first met. Elliot, however, is fair game because they've already transformed in front of everyone and has been pretty casual about being female.

But yeah, Tedd was worried about being discovered, though it shouldn't be that big a deal really, maybe part of it was Tedd thinking "she knows what genderfluid means too?" cus it does seem like the number of people that seem to know about it is getting bigger.

Based on commentary, was Dan affected by coronavirus? Like, not catch it, probably, but maybe city he's in did something to limit spread?

Everyone is affected by it, even if there aren't any cases where Dan is yet, the closures, restricted access to some things, and the general stupidity of the public refusing to stay calm and instead rush out to stores and stock up like it's the apocalypse or line up at clinics because they think that even though they don't have any symptoms, they might still be infected (please, if you feel fine, don't ask to be tested), would have anyone anxious about things (I know I'm worried that if I went to the store to get something, I'd get the urge to smack someone trying to clear a shelf). Plus that whole bit with the gas leak threw him off too.

I'm glad that The Dan  went on a "Story M-W-F, NP T-T-S" schedule as that means I'll have new EGS goodness every day but Sunday.  I wouldn't be to upset if he dropped the Saturday NP if he had to.

I dunno if this means he'll dropped the Tuesday/Thursday sketchbooks though as he had stated a desire to do more of those. At the moment, the last commentary said he'd try to sort them out, but historically, whenever he's stated that he's got something figured out that would help get comics and stuff done more efficiently, something always happens (either RL stuff or comic stuff) sets him back again.

Of course there are nothing to mess with. There are just two kinds of gas-related emergency repairs: the ones done after the explosions and the ones done to prevent the explosion.

I would say it was the latter as I would expect a gas explosion would probably have, in a best case scenario, put Dan in the hospital.

We got this view AND comment. On the other hand, Elliot DID get through. Even if flying would be needed, that still leaves Grace and Nanase, and that's assuming noone else got flight since then. Or other means how to be there.

Flying means they could probably come in from above and skip a lot of groundcover, but Tara and Andrea weren't flying, presumably because they felt that going through the woods would make it harder to spot. Sure now that Elliot has the location bookmarked (as long as they have their phone in their pocket when they transform) they could just fly straight in.

    Ashley wasn't wizard back then.

I think she would notice if she saw her now, and it's not important if she actually will or won't see Ashley OR Rhoda for my claim that the difference would be obvious for her.

And I think we have more characters with experience in going through woods. Nanase already commented she and Ellen were all over those woods when hunting the lockpicking gorilla and Susan, Sarah and Grace didn't knew they can find the cave with Jerry's Hammer by official park trail.

I think Tara would have to actively be looking, like she would have done so when she first met Ashley and the others because she'd want to assess any potential threat in case they turned out to be lying. It's unlikely that Tara would have any need to give Ashley another look, if anything, should Susan attend the next meeting, Tara might look at her if Tara happened to have a moment of confusion like "wait, she looks like the girl from before that had the potential to be a vampire hunter....but this one has unlocked that potential..."

As for Ellen and Nanase having been through the woods before, note how rough they looked after the fact (panel 3). And for Grace, Sarah and Susan? They weren't in the same forest, heck, they might not have been in the same state considering it took 8 hours to get to the place. We don't really get a good look at the area Elliot was going through, but I'd imagine that the was more overgrowth, downed trees, maybe some wild grape vines, like this:

    Vitis-riparia-wardsville-frm-1.jpg

But there's no way that Dan would draw something like that so he has to make the character comment on how rough it is going through it.

Also there are obvious differences between Ashley and Rhoda. Like, Ashley is a wizard, while Rhoda actually have magic talent.

Diane doesn't know that either of them have any magic potential, she can assume Ashley does by her association with the other maybe, but no one has told her anything yet.

    3 hours ago, hkmaly said:

... obvious for griffin, I meant.

Tara didn't say anything about Ashley being a wizard, unless you mean she might say something about it when they return? Considering the meeting is going to take place back in the woods again, I'd be surprised if more than just Elliot and Nanase (as fairy) went back there.

I'm glad to see Susan come out of her shell.  Even if she is more or less quoting Catalina.  The nice thing, so to speak, about "Jackass" is it's non-gendered.  Well, sorta, it literally means "male donkey" but that is not common knowledge.  You never hear any one calling any one "Jennyass" which would be the female version.

I wanna say that "Bitch" would be the female equivalent to "Jackass", but there seems to be more baggage associated with that term, case in point, Dan's been using "Jackass" pretty freely, but rarely uses "Bitch" and the one time that comes to mind had Nanase refer to Susan as a "Biz-atch", which might be indicative of how comfortable Dan is using that word.

  14. It occurred to me, based on the commentary, Dan really wanted to make sure he showed Catalina and Rhoda bonding, I may be reading to much into it and he's only doing it because Catalina and Rhoda are cute together no matter what setting, or maybe there's another reason.

Like maybe Catalina turns out to be another one of the heroes after all, just like Rhoda took Susan as inspiration to be a force of good, maybe Catalina has a similar epiphany because of Rhoda?  Or maybe Catalina becomes someone that Rhoda feels strongly enough towards that she becomes even more empowered, like Susan was a catalyst to want to fight evil, but Catalina gives her the resolve to keep going.

Set up patsy to take blame and/or fall when things go wrong before I start Project X

That reminds me, I need to re-do the data entry for Project X with the current schema.

This screams perfect setup here, problem is, who'd be the mastermind and who'd be the patsy? :D

I think there is difference, but maybe not so big ... and, well, Susan might be affected regardless.

The circumstances around how each came to define the terms may be different, but how they applied that definition wouldn't be much different, in Susan's case she's held back on being vocal about it but that doesn't lessen her attitude towards cheerleaders.

    1 hour ago, hkmaly said:

Note that I don't see why would Susan's mom called the woman a cheerleader as an insult, but maybe she voiced her opinion on some cheerleaders comparing them to her.

This is mainly how I've seen some cases on TV, but it's probably not much of a stretch to have Mrs Pompoms saying something like "I go away for a few days to visit my sister only to come back and find out you've been sleeping around with some cheerleader!?", now we don't know how old the woman was but I'm guessing she wasn't in the same age range as Susan's parents and even a college aged woman could still be or get compared to a cheerleader.
