The point I was making was that we'd seen Sarah used a summoned hammer on Tedd, and we'd seen her threaten to use a real hammer, which, I might add happened before she lost the ability to summon hammers so she was already ahead of the game there.

There's also the fact that Sarah and Tedd had a good talk on the subject when Sarah became Tedd's assistant.

Well, if it hit during those 5 minutes you were warned.  Even if they didn't tell you what the statement was about.

It was for snow squalls, of which no real accumulation of snow fell during that period. There were a few flakes in the air but that was it, the original statement was issued at 7am and stated the squalls were expected to go into the afternoon. The sun actually showed itself several times throughout the day.

    Was still cold though.

When you said she would be able to handle it herself I though this would be the link you used.  Let's just say that Elliot has ample reason to think that Sarah can take care of herself.

I was figuring in terms of Sarah being able to handle Tedd, which we've seen before as well albeit out of canon, but it makes the threat of using a real hammer have more impact.

And yes, hammer, impact, I wasn't trying.

    Here is.

Well, it's canon that Elliot knows about Tedd and Sarah being naked together now.  And he doesn't seem to care that much.  Odd thing to think about your "sister".

Not really odd, I think at this point Elliot trusts that Tedd wouldn't have done anything inappropriate towards Sarah on purpose, also Elliot probably still believes that Sarah would have been able to handle it herself if needed.

Point. And even if nothing changed, it might become necessary to re-do some more risky experiments to verify that.

Even the new descriptions given in spellbooks imply "experimentation required" even if the spells themselves haven't changed. Though apparently Ellen and Nanase were experimenting while trying to figure out what the old descriptions said, so at least now it's more strongly implied?

I used to be just annoyed by my now gone house neighbour, but now I'm actively angry with him. He had an indoor small yappy dog, which he moved in with. About the middle of summer last year he got a pair of indoor/outdoor cats. When he left, he left that cats behind, granted he did take the dog with him. Still major not cool. I would have taken the cats in, but by the time I found out that he left them, the cleaning lady had already called animal control.

We just had guest stay at the hotel I work at who brought a chihuahua with them that they were initially supposed to be dog sitting while their neighbours went to Florida. They were told it'd be for a couple weeks, but it's been over a month and they can't contact the neighbours to find out when they'll be back to pick up the dog so now they're afraid they just had it dumped on them.

Mind you from what I've heard, it's a well behaved dog, they've got a travel cage for it which the dog will use on it's own and it isn't yappy. So why the owners would abandon it is beyond me aside from them just being jerks.

And that's BEER. Whiskey would be worse.

And Kahlua White Russians would have been dangerous.

Seriously, you could get them in 200ml bottles and while they're vodka based, they're still only 5% alcohol/bv which puts it in the range of a light beer so you'd need to drink a few to get drunk, but it's sooo easy to drink them because they just taste like iced mocha with no burn from the vodka.

Doesn't matter. The nudity was result of experiment failures. They don't need to repeat all of those with her again.

With current wands, probability of accidentally transforming someone in embarrassing way is much lower!

... unless you refer to the possibility SHE will do such mistake when learning spell. Which I'm not sure if it's possible ...

There could be some new quirks to magic that didn't exist before the "not change" though, like how Tedd goofed with the size limitation, that might still result in unexpected wardrobe malfunctions. Tedd might have been able to sync clothing changes with becoming half size, but there might be sync issues with half scale or smaller especially with dynamic morphs.

Astronauts were saying "horny" fifty years ago on national television. I think we can say it on this forum, when appropriate.

The idea that crossed my mind was that typing "aroused" with the strikethrough would be enough to be funny.  Guess I should have used emoji's too. ;)

Don't even have to click to know that's the squirrel prophet dream part, but I'd counter that unless she was absolutely rushed to get to school, she probably has enough time to make sure she's ready to go, that and Ellen would likely remind her since she's still picking up Grace on the way to school.

This instance might be the equivalent of being rushed, her mind is completely distracted by one thing (being able to use actual magic) to realize that she's in a state that's making some people aroused uncomfortable.

Why haven't the more savvy in the group pointed out to Grace that not everyone is comfortable with nudity yet? Ellen? Nanase? Justin? Tedd? Somebody?

This subject has been brought up with Grace before
She is aware, at least on an intellectual level, that nudity makes many people uncomfortable
But unless she takes time to think about it, this is not a priority for her

Susan tried once and she did believe that everyone else was likely uncomfortable as well, but then....well.. I dunno if we can blame Tedd here or not but it seemed like Grace decided to double down on wanting to spread the belief that nudity shouldn't be shunned.

Well, that too; after all; Grace has caused blushes in pretty much everyone else at the party except Justin. But mostly, especially in the last panel, Diane is fighting against her inner nature as a super-genius-nerd. And I think she will lose the fight by the next comic.

Justin was blushing though, maybe not as much as the others, but still it counts as blushing. Maybe Grace is like Noah but instead of making straight men see rainbows, Grace can make gay men see....whatever would be considered a reference to straightness?

Also Ellen wasn't blushing there, but that might be due to her having seen Grace naked a few times already and her display of support in MV5 might have removed any remaining modesty she may have had.

That's true, but I wanted to explicitly mention the mechanism because it explains that the reason traditional cowcatcher is no longer needed on high-speed trains may not be related to probability of collision.

They may not have the traditional style cowcatchers anymore, but most trains have a form of plow blade that still does the job of clearing debris and stuff off the tracks.

  14. 32 minutes ago, hkmaly said:

Most of locomotive doesn't need protecting. Cowcatcher is device mounted at the front of a locomotive SPECIFICALLY to deflect obstacles (like cows) on the track that might otherwise get between the wheels and the rail and therefore derail the train.

If the cow hit by train is thrown away, it can't end up on rails.

I'm pretty sure that's what ijuin meant by protecting the train from damage. Cus a train is likely to suffer quite a bit of damage if it got derailed.

We ended with generic NPCs few strips ago. It's still weird that there would be special NPC designed to be companion for non-main hero ...

Also looking back, there was another NPC with Rhoda's design so I guess unique designs for heroes in Parable is out the window.

And I don't think it'd be that odd for a non-main hero (I'm assuming you mean an important character that's not the player) to have a companion, from a storytelling standpoint a love interest or spouse or sibling or best friend that has an attachment to an important NPC would add depth to the character, at least if it's done well it would, and those don't have to be generic looking either.

  16. The cookies! They were within my grasp!!!!

In retrospect Catalina couldn't be the Hero of Magic, she doesn't have the boobs for it, though would a NPC Hero use cosmetic potions on themselves? I mean usually some games have relatively generic looking NPCs but have uniquely designed Heroes/companions/etc to say "hey this NPC is important to the story!", though mind you Catalina is far from being generic but I guess companion to a hero is probably enough reason.

That's nice theory, however she became versatile shapeshifter only when Tedd helped her with TF gun. She was limited to three forms before that. Considering when people usually develop a sense of body-shame, I would guess the main reason is different - probably her "sheltered" live style of not meeting anyone except her siblings and Damien for years.

If she spent the majority of her life in her half squirrel form and only started using her human form after she escaped Damien, then the lack of body shame might be because she never liked the feeling of clothes on fur and the scientists that created her were just bad at explaining why she needed to wear clothes.

    Here is.

A lot to unpack in this one.

    1. Grace can use "human" magic now.
    2. Elliot self identifies as a Paladin.
    3. Diane has body confidence issues.

    1. Grace can use both simultaneously it seems, at least when morphing is involved, I wonder if she can mix magic with telekinesis too.

    2. Elliot's got a bit in common with another Elliot.

    3. Another thing her and Susan share apparently, though Diane's limits are higher than Susan's, but in all honestly it is hard for many people to be Grace level confident about being naked in front of others, Sarah struggled with it as well back in MV5.  Dan had stated that Diane's comment was due to Grace being more charismatic than her, I'd probably equate it in cheerleading terms cus Diane's a cheerleader and Grace could potentially (more like very likely) outdo even the head cheerleader (if Diane isn't it) and so maybe Diane finds Grace somewhat intimidating that way.

Sooo ... does Catalina know Rhoda, did she recognized her as monk, or did she just realized that she's inexperienced with alcohol based on that "pitcher of whisky" line and immediately recommended alternative?

I think she just recognizes a newbie drinker, and doesn't actually know her in this setting.

Of course this is a perfect setup for them to get to know each other.

I'm kinda torn though, would it be too obvious for Catalina to be the next Hero? I can see Susan being all "Ok what do I need to do to recruit the Hero of Magic?" and Arthur going "Nothing, it seems the Melee Hero already found her and they seem to be getting along....quite....well..." and then to Catalina and Rhoda kissing... actually, you know what, not torn about it anymore, the Ranged Hero can have a more involved recruitment. ;)
