... I mean, sure, the steps in the transformation are sort of abrupt as well, but I think it makes more sense that Elliot like interrupted others by transforming.

Tedd stating "Girlification and shrinking may proceed" does take a lot of the abruptness out of it though, because it has us expecting it before it happens, so Elliot doesn't have to say anything further, just does it.

So, another way she's like Susan.  She rather just watch.

Well she's willing to be more active, like how she was getting everyone motivated and such, which makes sense coming from someone who's a cheerleader.

The way I interpret it is: Dan drew panels one and two, then realized that the transformation sequence he had in mind would take up a space equivalent to two rows of panels, so he cut out material that he was intending to put between panel two and the transformation -- hence the relatively abrupt transition between Diane and Justin talking and Elliot's transformation (though it's not too bad; I didn't even notice it was abrupt until I read the commentary).

It's the " Elliot's transformation abruptness is simply canon now." in the commentary that makes me feel Dan was talking about the steps in the transformation process, cus it doesn't really make sense saying that in regards too going from a view of Diane and Justin to Elliot transforming.

I give up, which two panels were drawn too soon? I suppose that the second panel is one of them, but ...

I believe by panels, Dan meant the steps in Elliot's transformation, which is technically all in 1 panel, and that there should have been a middle step between the second and third steps. Though compared to the first time Elliot became "Rose" there were technically only 3 steps with the middle step not looking anything like the final result either so...

Also, I think that to feel properly gigantic, Diane would need to grow AND everyone else shrink. The growing is not so extreme.

Dan's mentioned that Diane's not interested in transforming herself in any way, she's more into either transforming others or just watching people play with magic in general, it should be too hard for Diane to just say that she'd rather just watch the others transform though.

Grace hates keeping secrets, but it seems to me she's pretty good at it. Not counting this party (where she clearly wasn't trying) can you think of any times she failed to keep something a secret that was meant to be one?

She hates keeping secrets about herself, but she's so far shown that she can be trusted with other people's secrets, and praise from Sarah about it should certainly reinforce Grace's resolve on the matter. I'm more worried about whether any advice from Grace would be helpful, I mean, we know how good she's been for Tedd and she's been helping Ashley adjust. I guess in terms of PTSD related issues, Grace's experience with Damien, being forced to watch people die, the abuse, and going berserk herself, could be relatable to Susan's experience with vampires, so maybe the two could help each other in that regard.

    It's a party

The only way to hear anyone is by being uncomfortably close to the person with whom you are speaking

    The music is too loud

And if they are a bunch of Mid-West Nice kids, the song is probably "Louie-Louie" from the Animal House soundtrack because that is what parties are supposed to be like, right?

This is EGS though, the only party music must be in the form of karaoke. :D

It's not hard to build evil organization. Just make sure that everyone who would care would be so overworked he wouldn't have time for it. Actually ... in most cases that happens automatically.

    Soooo.....pretty much like Corporate America?

I'm glad to see Susan losing some of her "I don't like contact with other people".    I've always assumed it was for the same reasons as my issues with personal contact, I understand that it's not really healthy to have it.

Sarah is someone Susan has hugged before and I still believe that it does get easier to repeat once you gotten over that first obstacle of anxiety, Susan knows Sarah would allow hugs from her. Hugging say....Elliot would present a different set of anxiety obstacles like the fact that Susan is attracted to him and she might be worried about feelings of "Things" invading her mind, most of Susan's hug moments were due to her anxieties being overpowered by other emotions, otherwise she wouldn't just randomly hug someone out of the blue.

Also ... she's leaning on wall. She wouldn't do it at the mall.

She probably knows the Verres keep a clean house, or the fact that a considerably less amount of people would have potentially leaned on that wall compared to walls at the mall, I mean, everyone present at the party minus 1 (Edward) are probably the only people that would have.

What we don't know is how others can't hear them.

Especially since Ashley and Grace are on the couch which is like a 3-4 feet away, unless Nanase and Susan have been whispering this whole time.

  8. 8 hours ago, hkmaly said:

    ... didn't Diane started that?

    4 hours ago, mlooney said:

Or possibly that people were doing the same thing about her.

I might be that Diane had been trying to emulate Nanase the whole time and Nanase might have just realized that, cus from this page it would appear that Nanase had been giving off that "soo coool" vibe longer than Diane had, though, people looked at Diane much differently than they did Nanase, but Nanase already stopped herself from telling Susan that much.

Anyway, if Blaike had any relatives and those still have living descendants, then it's far more likely they hooked up that they didn't. However, that they carried the surname at that point is less likely, as that requires basically everyone in that branch of family tree being male.

It's still possible, I'm not saying that's what Dan would have happen though.

  10. 1 hour ago, hkmaly said:

Why it should've been Raven? I think even Raven's child who's her ancestor wasn't named Raven, and there could've been lot of girls changing name by marriage in her family tree.

True, I'm just stating that there shouldn't be a reason for any twist that says the Raven name got passed down somehow anyway.

Well, unless Blaike had a brother and at some point both ancestors hooked up, which is possible.

And finally, why would Susan keep "Pompoms" but reject "Tiffany"? Is "Pompoms" actually Susan's mother's maiden name?

Much easier to use your middle name rather than your first that it is to redact your last name. I'm going to guess that you are right, Pompoms is Susan's mother's maiden name, based on other evidence of her strong reaction to her divorce. I don't see Susan choosing to use her dad's surname.

Yeah ... first, change your last name is harder, second, she doesn't have any better.

Lets say for a moment that Susan's mom's maiden name is Pompoms though, it could be the reason her dad married her in the first place if she was "his type" as in having been a cheerleader in highschool/post secondary school. This would mean we wouldn't know what Susan's dad's last name is though, but I doubt it'd be Raven cus Susan was probably old enough when she caught him cheating to remember what her last name used to be.

  12. The idea that Dan was trying to get across was that Tedd was agreeing that she could still make herself big and then she can get hugs from Diane too, and then Elliot can worry about making Ashley happy.

Well I'm assuming Diane will be hugging Tedd, it seemed that was the intention for her suggestion in the previous page.

*checks original comic* I can see a G, but that is it. The problem was that it was also black and it just dissolved into the shirt.

    Clarity only up 10%

The fact that it took a day before someone noticed something was odd only means that we were all distracted by the odd even numbered panels. ;)

EDIT: I meant even numbered panels.....

There may be a bit of resentment on Sarah's part involved because Elliot is getting shrinky and girly for some other girl rather than for her. "Oh, you'll be tiny and hot and cute for ASHLEY but not for me!"

It was also mentioned on discord that Sarah hasn't had many good experiences with Elliot being female, I mean, sure they had some fun at Grace's birthday, but it likely helped that Sarah was male at the time, the time where Elliot tried to look like Sarah didn't really work as Sarah thought it would.

  15. Just now, Tom Sewell said:

Well, Sarah did ask Jerry if she could have a spell to change herself into a boy, and when Sarah was a boy during Grace's birthday party... it's a possibility...

Sarah didn't actually ask, Jerry sensed it as a spell to give her and she thought it might make things worse for her relationship with Elliot, which effectively made Jerry unable to give her the spell.

But, things could have changed since then.

Wait, junior high is different school than high school? ... ok, that explains why Susan looks younger in that flashback than in France story.

Weird. The wikipedia says that you can't ever be Freshman if you were in junior high school.

I guess it depends on which grades junior high covers, it varies from 5–6, 5–8, 6–8, 7–8 or 7–9, and grade 9 is usually considered freshman year, if junior high that the EGS gang spent time in covered the 7-9 then yeah there wouldn't be a freshman year, but if we're basing this on Dan's experience going to school, Naperville has a few junior high schools by the looks of it in the 5-8 and 6-8 range, so high school grade 9 would still be considered freshman year, at least by Dan's experience.

Not surprised by this either. I still think that it was one of reasons why she dumped him.

But this could have continued the "where do I fit on they Kinsey scale?" internal debate that Sarah's been having lately, MV5 had her get flustered by Ellen.

Of course it's possible that Elliot is an exception and thus the only person that she'd prefer stay male, and anyone else is free game.

Well, maybe add Justin and Luke cus Sarah apparently likes to fantasize about gay male couples too, which....I wonder if that means she'd be into male/male stuff with herself being transformed, or if she'd just like to watch?

Elliot should use Mall Elliot for this.

That might have been what he was implying with the "I could be shorter than her that way" comment.

Also I guess this confirms Diane still finds Elliot attractive, and probably confirms for her that she'd be into Elliot being female.

Sarah, on the other hand, doesn't seem interested in female Elliot.

As for the commentary, while Q&A#6 does specifically state TFG morphs not canceling out Elliot's forms, which shows that Catgirl Heidi is possible, and thus no recton needed for that, unless the wand spells are mimicking the TFG zapping, might have to go with "magic not change" fudgery.

I don't. The trip to France was summer after Freshman year ... which is the first year of first school Sarah was without Elliot.

I would assume that Sarah and Susan became friends during that Freshman year.

Except Sarah stated that she was in some of the same classes as Susan in Junior High, and we'd already mentioned before  that was how she knew Susan's first name was Tiffany, so that was before freshman year.

Remember, Diane discovered the story of her ancestry essentially through an accident

How will Rhea arrange a catastrophe that will publicly reveal a great personal truth about herself?

I wouldn't say it was through an accident, more like tragedy, but I suspect that if Pandora hadn't needed to step in and get forced to reset she would have told Diane and Susan anyway.
