I'd guess that just as learning the martial arts also includes building confidence and developing the discipline not to misuse them, Ashley's wizard training will help with her misgivings.

If it's her own personal "Sarah" preset wand, possibly pass-thought protected with "I am Sarah Brown", it might just be a permanent transformation to "Sarah Brown age 18", which would be perfect for cleaning up any details that might be missed when using a long string of reverse transformations. -

That's about how Ashley is feeling about Magic now. As a good, responsible person, the realistic downsides to Magic are piling up in her mind, displacing the lighthearted fantasies that didn't have to be thought through because they couldn't happen. That neutral look on her face suggests that a trusted friend is inviting her to her first Magic Users Anonymous meeting, and she's seriously considering that she needs to attend.

With twins, I would try to provide each one with at least a tiny room -- IF the twins wanted that. Opposite sex twins almost always will want that, but the Ells are closer than most identicles anyway. It might have seemed obviously better to both "sisters" that they should both be in the best room available.

Grace may be a little familiar with magic, but who is so used to magic that their first reaction to a see-through, vaguely-human shape that talks isn't "Ghost!" ? Sam, with practically no knowledge of weird things, is even more to react badly....

Remember that therapists take some time to update about new events...thinking spy drones were watching people was still considered a symptom of paranoia long after the drone industry sales hit 100 thousand units per year. (Thinking all the drones are watching only you still does really indicate paranoia.)
About five to seven years after the reveal of magic, belief in magic would finally be removed from the symptom list....

Or, she could be preparing to use her (much weaker) abilities to levitate non-self items. This could be another case where she stumbles across a "no change" in the rules of magic.

Or else "everyone knows" that the order of changes is size first, clothing adjustment second, and so on, but you can always change the order with the dial. There used to be a little rhyme to remember the order.

Is the presence of some sort of energy of malevolent intent a requirement for a device to be preserved beyond the lifespan of the person who builds, purchases, or uses it?
A competently "blessed" item will probably have safeguards so it doesn't go off at a bad moment or, if no one knows how to use it safely, ever. An incompetently blessed item is for all practical purposes a cursed one anyway.

Not that it would take all that much setup to establish the two of them having a class together at MSHS.
I particularly like this idea, which would allow Grace to use her skill at recognizing body structure despite the way that Sam has to be disguised at school.

Arthur J. Arthur was already running things when Edward talked about being fine. And he's unlikely to support the idea that friendship is more important than secrets.

... and I already mentioned that if it's Ellen who's making everyone FV5 and not the TF gun (which is all kinds of top secret), it might not be THAT big problem to Edward ...
...and we might finally get confirmation from Dan that Ellen's beam can reverse its Fv5 transformation as applied to a male. It has been shown to reverse itself when used on females but I can't offhand remember it being shown reversing its effect on a male even in a sketchbook or NP, and Dan has clearly stated his position that if it hasn't appeared in the story, it's not Canon.

Part of the difference might be the question of what to do with the information -- airlines and pilots in particular can be made to spend most of their working lives doing all sorts of things to incrementally improve flight safety, but making nearly the entire population do that is so unpalatable that the obvious conclusions from the number of traffic deaths don't attract much readership.

Liz is probably having a protective reaction strong enough to overwhelm any sense of fair play -- she is probably about to ask a loaded question such as "Are you physically attracted to Ashley?", where a "yes" answers makes her conclude that Elliot is trying to take advantage of Ashley and a "no" answer is taken as proof that he is gay and is using her as a beard (and Liz is in no emotional shape to even consider that Ashley might have agreed to such).
