  1. The brilliance of Ellen's answer is that it throws the question right back at Rich in a plausible manner, implying mysterious motives while making him responsible for coming up with a plausible answer, and leaving a side mystery for the rest of the gamers.

To the best of my knowledge Mall Girl doesn't involve the Cheerleader spell, so it's healing factor doesn't really apply.

I was more thinking that the Cheerleadra spell undid the burnout, using up so much of Elliot's natural  energy that the sex change knocked him out.

  3. So, it's Elliot, or the Cheerleadra spell, that's special? If I understand what just happened, Edward's Healing Spell just "push started" the healing part of the Cheerleadra spell, which promptly depleted Elliot natural energy to complete his recovery and end his burnout.  Does that match other people's understanding of what just happened?

Well, Elliot was Tedd first friend and has stayed with him since elementary school.  Stands to reason that he would feel strongly about his friendship with Elliot.

Not to mention the recent incident where Elliot pulled out all the stops to save Tedd's dad and girlfriend from  grisly deaths.

Also how Elliot's hair blows in the basement breeze. They must have one helluva air circulation system.

Well, he does spend a lot of time with Susan, maybe she's taught him some hair tricks.

I believe it was Bismarck who first described diplomacy as "punching with words" (that maybe a slight paraphrase).  Elliot adopting that mantra is a nice twist, though I still want to see a Cheerleadra training montage.

All good points, we have no indication that Edward has been open about his social life, and a little hint that he hasn't been

Ed has to compartmentalize his life, doesn't he? He's privy to Top Secret information that he has to hide even from his son, he's downplaying Grace's abilities to his superiors, he almost certainly had to be discreet about his relationship with his assistant and I imagine he tried to keep a stiff upper lip about Noriko abandoning him and Tedd. He may need the therapist's couch once Grace is done with it.
