I've been thinking of Kevin as more of a feature than a bug. An annoying, overly didactic feature, granted, but a feature nontheless.
-
Thank you, I was wondering what they reminded me of.

But he has a plan. Which means bringing in Luke. Who finds his Magic crippling and thinks of himself as a victim. He's about to meet his tormentor. Will Luke be the first to blame Hope for Pandora's crimes?

Oh Dan, you're such a tease! Pizza nearly ordered, major mystery still unsolved. Besides the obvious, what were the Dunkels up to before Elliot came along?
-
Ah, Nanase remembers how this works. I like the approach, letting Hope know that this group of mortals, at least, does not hold her responsible for Pandora's bad behavior may go a long way towards her healing. But would they consider Voltaire responsible for Ragnarok's crimes? I would, the difference being Volty's lack of remorse. Now pass the Magic pizza.

I've got all my Quatloos on some sort of Magical Incident at college that introduced the both to Magic and Dad to a career path that led to his current job. I still think both were involved with DGB at some point. -
https://www.egscomics.com/comic/falsekings-096 Wow! How much guilt did Pandora hide away? And will it make it better or worse when Ellen recounts her origin story?
-
https://www.egscomics.com/comic/falsekings-098 Ellen knows what needing a clean slate feels like. She needed one herself: https://www.egscomics.com/comic/2003-01-16

Makes more sense than my immediate thoughts, "Shame" does not appear to have been something Pandora was good at.
-
It's interesting that she chose to lock away this particular memory, Shame for how she treated Magus? For attempting to make Tedd's father a murderer?

Whoops, that's what I get for posting when I really had my attention elsewhere. Sorry about that. -
Such a daddy's girl. Princess Ellen certainly is... forthright, isn't she? So where does this leave The Prince and the Family Treats Him Like a Pauper?

Is this why Pandora knew so much about the Dewitchery Diamond? I suppose I should have put this together earlier. Maybe this orders, if not dates, events. Ragnorok creates the werewolf curse. A werewolf kills Abraham's mentor, who had created a giant diamond around a scale that Ragnorok shed at some point. A nobleman kills the werewolf that got the mentor, but is bitten and becomes a werewolf. In an effort to cure the nobleman, Abraham uses his mentor's bauble to create the Dewitchery Diamond, which works to the extent that the curse is lifted, but creates a new, more dangerous werewolf who kills the nobleman and goes on to spread his curse to others who become permanent wolves who spread their curse like a plague. One of these wolves kills Blaike, and Pandora gets involved. Pandora can't kill the werewolves directly, so she organizes the rest of the Immortals to confront and ultimately kill Ragnorak. All the werewolves die when Raggy does, Pandora goes on to live way too long, and contrives to get Magus to use the Diamond to cure Elliot and create Ellen. Does that make sense?

Hoo boy! Dragon power, ijuin FTW! Presumably, Ashley will trigger the same reaction from Hope. Will Hope's oath keep her from telling them about what has her so upset?
-
Boy, did I have a wrong number. Princess Ellen knows her duty and plans to do it! And seems o be a bit put put over certain.. assumptions that have been made.
-
I've often wondered about the knock on effects of all the secrecy. Not knowing what a parental unit does to support you seems very sad. Hope looks frightened by meeting Ellen, she must have been taking a peek into the Pandora Memory Archive. This could be good.

What did he do before passing the bar? How did he come to choose that specialty, one that most lawyers would be totally unaware of? For that matter, what about Mrs. Dunkel's background? Do either of them have any Magic?

Princess Ellen does not appear to be enthusiastic about the "brood mare" part of her job description. -
Mostly as a joke, but I've long held that the Dunkels are retired superheroes. IIRC, it was this strip https://www.egscomics.com/comic/2002-07-12 that got me thinking along this line. Why was Elliot's car so peculiar that Teed freaked out over it? He didn't seem like the sort to build his own, did his parents give it to him? Was it their "Batmobile" equivalent? The idea dovetailed nicely with their casual reaction to their son being transformed into a woman by his mad scientist best friend.

https://www.egscomics.com/comic/falsekings-085 Volty does some phone phreaking! I didn't know he had it in him. So now, who is he calling? Noriko? Perhaps we're finally about to meet her, do you suppose she'll bring Van along?

Prince Elliot is probably in need of someone who will speak frankly to him, with any luck Adrian, at least, will continue fulfilling that role when he becomes king. My feeling is that the world would be a better place if all the leaders had someone who was free to tell them when they are being foolish .More like it is his last link to someone he has loved and lost is how it looks to me. -

Indeed. They wanted to make an example of the whole lot of them. Culloden was the final battle in the 1743 Highlander uprising, the failed attempt to put Bonnie Prince Charlie on the throne of, at least, Scotland. There's a fictionalized account in, I think, Voyager, the third of Diana Gabaldon's Outlander series of books. -

Because after the Battle of Culloden, one of the pipers, while being tried for treason, claimed that he had no weapon, just the bagpipes, and so was noncombatant. The commission trying him decided that since Highland regiments never went into battle without a piper, bagpipes were a weapon of war. The piper swung. -
Or Dan trying to get it all straight, maybe for himself. Hope doesn't even remember all of this, if I've got it straight. Poor Ellen, imagine meeting the entity who caused you to be created, and they barely remember you.
