The good news is that I finally got the new HVAC unit installed. The bad news is that it's a “Smart” unit. I'm not connecting it to wifi/bluetooth. I hope that will work and not let it get hacked. The so-so news is that I had an internet outage this morning, and my data plan doesn't allow a hot spot. I'm not sure if I'm gonna change that. I've got a 10.00 a month plan, and I don't use mobile data enough to warrant getting more than 2 gigs a month.

Feeling optimistic that I can get some writing on Project X, or maybe even my Space Fantasy game, done today. I need to name that something. The current name “Edge of Imperial Space” really doesn't fit it anymore. Took antihistamines with my normal morning drugs and no current headache. Going to finish breakfast and my cat photo stuff, then may dive in.

“It was an exciting morning. Strange men were in the apartment, working on the box that keeps the bedroom cold or warm. Then The Human couldn't get on the inter thingy. Everything is OK now!” - Explorer the Cat.

Appointment made for getting Explorer, my cat, fixed. Soonest they can do her is Feb 26, which is a little longer than I wanted, but I can live with that.

I'm trying the non-steakburger items at Freddy's. Their onion rings are really good, and a large is a freaking huge amount of rings. Their tots are okay, but the bacon cheese tots are really good. Next time I'm in, I'll try the chili cheese hot dog.

“The people upstairs are making weird noises. I think I liked the bird, squirrel, or mouse noises at the old house better, but this isn't too bad. The Human says they are nice people, and to not worry about it.” - Explorer the Cat.

The maintenance dude was sick all last week, so I didn't get the A/C & heater unit changed out. He has a backlog, but I should have it done this week, possibly as soon as tomorrow. But right now, I'm sweating like a sweating thing. It's 89; feels like 100 with highish humidity. Going to take a cool shower, then get out of the sunlight. That is code for going back to bed.

#1stworldproblem  The forklift's backing-up noise is just like my microwave's “I'm done” noise is unloading a truck of lumber. This is very confusing to me, even though I know I don't have anything in the microwave

“The Red Dot! Yay! I'll get it today, for sure. It's always a good week when it starts with Red Dot Day; even if The Human is moving slowly, at least he's moving and found The Red Dot for me. Gonna be a great week.” - Explorer the Cat.

“It's Math Rock Day, but The Human is moving slowly, but the game isn't until the afternoon, so he should be good by then. I'll help with the rocks today; last week, I rolled a 'Nat 20' which The Human says is a good thing.” - Explorer the Cat.

Minor rant: Domino's used to have a web page that calculated your caliores and then displayed it. Now it's a PDF. I don't like that. #1stworldproblem

“The Human seems to be doing better this morning. He's making boring tea and moving around without grabbing the walls. He says he's going to work on some games today. I'm ready to help!” - Explorer the Cat.

Here it is. So Diane shows that semi-embarasing things are OK, as long as they are funny. That's three main cast members (her, Tedd, and Ellen) that have taken the “I'll treat you like family.” Of course she is literally family to Diane.

"The Human is really dizzy this morning, but he found The Red Dot for me! He's talking about being a vegetable today and just read 'social media', whatever that is. It doesn't matter what he does; I'll either help him on the butt warmer or sleep with him if he goes back to bed - Explorer the Cat.

“The Human is making boring tea right now. He made good tea last night and gave me some! Anyway, I'm gonna stay here for a while, until I think he needs some help, then I'll come help him. After I eat, of course.” - Explorer the Cat.

It's noon on the 1st Wednesday of the month. The city is testing the storm sirens. I'm glad that in my current place I can hear them clearly, unlike my last two places. Of course I have even fewer places to hide here, but it's a cinder block building, so it's a little less likely to blow away in the wind.

Here it is So what was the last spell Pandora handed out? Also, I think that's the first time that Diane's spell has been accurately described. Tedd was sort of off the mark.

“It's Math Rocks Day! The party is gonna be surprised when the magic door opens. They will never believe what is coming for them. It should be a lot of fun. The Human says he's going to work on his spaceship and vampire game this morning. He needs to work on it.” - Explorer the Cat.

“The Human is moving really, really slowly today. He's filled his little pillbox and took his morning pills, but is talking like he's going back to bed. I'll hang out with him if he does; if he doesn't, well, I'll help him on the butt warmer.” - Explorer the Cat.

I'll add it to my stack of things to do. Towards the top! I should get it done this weekend, Monday at the latest.
