Yes It did! Thank you! It was in the "keep the gift a surprise" envelope, so I didn't open it.

The other shoe dropped. I crushed my middle finger on my right hand in the door. Gonna lose the nail I suspect.

You are assuming she doesn't have magic. There exist the possibility that she does, based on what Luke told duffus about his accident double date with Diane and Lucy. It's my head canon she has magic like Justin's but with swords instead of kicks.

I just got a military history book as a gift via Amazon. Thank you, Professor Tomoe I suspect.

The recommend having one with just 14-20 available for firing at "hull down" targets. Tractics is weird, as I've said before. It takes 5 dice rolls, and 3 table lookups to fire a gun at a tank. To hit (d20) Where hit (d20) Consult table on penetration of gun at that range Consult table of armor of the target and take into account the angle of impact of the shot and the slope of the armor of the target. Check for automatic damage if hitting some place special on the target (gun barrel, vision ports, coax MG etc.) via table lookup If penetration greater than adjusted armor Type of damage (d6) Number of casualties (varies, normally d6) Assuming survivors Morale check. (d20) Then take your next shot if the gun has a rate of fire more than 1 per round. Artillery is even more complex. This game's base assumption is that you will have a non playing judge and hidden movement. There are spot checks so you can check to see if a given tank can see an enemy tank. It was Gygax's last project before D&D.

Only 8 fucking years late ya turd cutters. -
I am becoming warry in my old age. I woke up this morning feeling refreshed, not in any more pain than a good day (lower back mainly, meh used to by now) and it's not beastly hot already. I'm waiting on the other shoe to drop now. The last week has sucked.

Israel managed to make around a thousand unmodified pagers blow up via software. https://www.reuters.com/world/middle-east/dozens-hezbollah-members-wounded-lebanon-when-pagers-exploded-sources-witnesses-2024-09-17/ -

Bad experience with the SMA visiting the tactical site I was working on in 82. We literally put on more of a dog and pony show than we did when the commander 4th Allied Tactical Air Forces who, I might add, is a 4 star general [granted USAF] and in our direct line of operational command. For the 4ATAF dude we did two crew drills, one so he could watch the fire control (i.e. the radars) platoon doing our thing, one so he could watch the launcher folk do their thing. We did this during "hot status" so it was normal day to day training for us, as we did at least 3 drills a day during hot status, sometimes more if the BCO had a burr up their butt. For the SMA? We faked doing daily checks. A more staged production would only happen if Kubrick was there. -

Normally when a senior leader is relived for “loss of trust and confidence," it doesn't lead to being put in the brig. Some shit is going down here. https://taskandpurpose.com/news/marine-sergeant-major-confinement/ -

Some where between "about time" and "locking the barn door after the horse escaped" here. https://kyivindependent.com/meta-blocks-russian-state-media-across-its-platforms-amid-foreign-interference-activity/?mc_cid=4bd5f27f38&mc_eid=c814a7f7f0 -

Most CSA have been Sergeant Majors for at least 10 years. Their contact with lower enlisted (and by that I mean E-7 and below) is limited and any advice they may have is more "back in my day..." crap that CSM tend to spew. I may be a bit bitter and biased here. -

Early dice were weird. The 1st game that TSR put out that needed a 20 sided die (Tractics) had instructions on how to make a "TOAD" (Tucker’s Original Adjustable Device) to generate random numbers from 1-20. Literally poker chips with numbers written on them in a cup. The "modern" (2021) version of the game sorta wants you to use the chips in a cup thing as well.

At least when I was in the "Command Sergeant Major of the Army" was the most useless position in the whole army. -

Back when I was in, officers and SNCO wore "dress" uniforms about 3-4 times a year. Lower enlisted wore class A with white shirts and a bow tie for these events, if we were invited, which didn't happen all that often. -
Went from aura stage to pain stage. Hopefully the ACA I took will keep it under about 6 on the pain scale. For calibration, being hit by lightning is a 9

I think I've said it before (in fact I know I have) but Pandora is my waifu. Having Hope at least some times look like her would be nice. Hope is currently the woobie, with the possibility of becoming a waifu.

Dude, I was playing D&D when supplement one "Greyhawk" was the new rules you had to tell your players that you were using. I'm not a whippersnapper and I'm not on anybodies lawn, much less yours.
