I'd always heard that "quote" was apocryphal?

    Yes, it is.

That is what Microsoft's propaganda department really badly wanted you to believe. Unfortunately, the poor man actually said it. I personally do not hold it against him or laugh at him for it; at the time you didn't exactly see people argue against it in hordes.

I have one constant in my life following me around: hindsight is always better. If I look hard enough, I have said far stupider things than Mr. Gates' unfortunate quote.

    Ah, cite?

  2. I, for one, am glad that Magus was very up front about wanting to kill Sirleck and most importantly didn't hold back when the time came to do so.  Having bad feelings about killing a monster AFTER you kill it isn't unexpected, but thinking that Sirleck was a friend before you made your attack would be.  It's sorta a call back to Susan killing the vampire in France, in that it might very well be a life changer, but it didn't slow her down when it came time to do so.

In the commentary, Dan put Sirleck's demise pretty definitively.

The Dan has also said, err, in other comments, that unless it's said or seen in a comic, it's not canon.

That being said, I suspect this is a case where the comment is canon as well.

As an additional note, now that Sirleck is dead, was he the last of his kind?

He promised he would end Pandora.

He might not know that Pandora's reset was modified and go with she was reset by the rest of the fairies.

her actual family name is homo sapiens sapiens.

Geek twitch.  Odds are she isn't actually h. sapiens sapiens. Given that her grand mother is what ever fairy is ( mediocris sapiens maybe?) she can't have breed out the fairy genetics in only 2 generations.

  5. Given that The Dan has said that only things that appear in the comic are canon, and that authorial intent doesn't really count for his works, I've got to say that Ellen is just that awesome.  In other words, she being "Just that awesome" is the canon reason until proven otherwise.

Oh, please, please let us do something else!  Nope, not a big fan of complicated not-fully-explained and irrelevant-to-any-plot game mechanics.

Ditto.  Game mechanics crunch isn't why I read EGS.  And meaning no offence to The Dan, he's not really that good of a game mechanics designer.
