      Welcome!   03/05/2016

Welcome, everyone, to the new 910CMX Community Forums. I'm still working on getting them running, so things may change.  If you're a 910 Comic creator and need your forum recreated, let me know and I'll get on it right away.  I'll do my best to make this new place as fun as the last one!

Grace, think of yourself as the South Pole of a magnet

Anyone attracted to you would be the North Pole of a magnet

While any number of North Magnetic Poles might be attracted to the same South Pole, they will all repel each other

That's a great analogy, but I'm not sure Grace knows enough hard science to get it.  She has shown a tendency towards the soft sciences.

Daikaiju" (I shouldn't have included a space), often shortened to "kaiju", is the Japanese term for giant monsters like Godzilla and Gamera, and is often used by fans of the giant monster genre across the world (since the majority of giant monster movies come from Japan).

I knew that Kaiju was giant monster, I had assumed that "Dai" was a modifier of some sort, or was a particular monster.  Meh.  Live and learn.

Care to tell us anything about “Edge of Imperial Space”?

    My resolution is 1080p x 1920.

The elevator pitch is "Buffy the Vampire Slayer on the Firefly, with Cthulhu and orcs."

It's based on the Mongoose Traveller SRD and several other open games.

Ah, that is an interesting question. Does my computer think in UTC and display local time, or does it think in offset time. I should probably know this, but I don't.

I can set my time as an offset from UTC, but that is based on how it is communicated. Hmm.

To the best of my knowledge,  modern computer's RTC is set to UTC and everything is adjusted via your timezone.  This is very much the case if you are getting your time "from the network" (i.e. NTP)  or from GPS.

  5. I used to work at McGregor  range, the southern part of WSMR (actually part of Ft. Bliss, but they touched).  I spent time at Groom Lake (aka Area 51).   I'm aware of all of those details.  Just The Dan said "New Mexico" instead of "Roswell" so I was expanding on what an alien visitor might notice about NM above and beyond the rest of the south western desert.

  6. New Years Resolution: Finish, at least to the point of being edited by some one, at least one of my gaming project. Got 3 now. My Space Fantasy game "Edge of Imperial Space", my unnamed "Project X" which is a set of rules for 1900-2030 combat and my latest, adding modern rules and vehicles to Tractics.
