    82° F

Clear right now, Thunderstorms, some severe on deck for this afternoon or evening.

In other words early summer in Oklahoma.

Of course when they said afternoon or evening, they meant "around 9:00 this morning".

I'm starting to think the "accuweather" app on my tablet isn't so accu.

I was referring to her adult form as being a MILF though I didn't want to outright say it in the previous post, but totally agree about the child form. So I guess there really isn't anything bad about it.

Hmm.  Not quite old enough looking for that, at least to me.  But I can see your point.  This may be an effect of most of the mother's I know are either Absurdly Youthful Mother or in their mid to late 30s

Warning, that is a TVTropes link.

  3. It's 7:45 in the morning.  I'm fully rested, awake and alert, with out taking any of my "make me alert" drugs (Adderall).  Granted I've had a fairly large amount of caffeine this morning, but this isn't that.  This is not normal for me.  I suspect that my sleep aid (Restoril AKA temazepam) is doing what it's supposed to.  Just need to take it a little later at night.  Maybe. Of course this puts me back on the "you don't get to drink alcohol" list, but that's not really all that important. I do miss hard cider, but that's about it.

There's something I'm wondering about concerning the age of Immortals in relation to their appearance. Pandora in these past couple pages is, around 150 years old, yet she looks like she could be early 20's if she were human which I would think would be more fitting if she were between 50-100 years old maybe. The adult form she currently takes seems more appropriate for an 150 year old Immortal.

The non creepy and/or eldritch horror version of Pandora don't look all that bad or old.  In fact her "Elvish Sorcerer" mode looks like she's in her late 20s or early 30s.  And in My Arrogant Opinion, looks fairly hot.  Of course I'm a self confessed pervert, so that may or may not mean any thing.  Just for the record, her child form, creep or not, isn't hot.

  5. For a long while, back when my primary machine was a Mac Book Pro, I had done some cute things with symlinks so that Dropbox and Google drive were mirrors of it, with the MBP keeping just one copy of the files, and the MacMini's external 2TB drive having both copies. This sort of ended when the MBP's hard drive died.

Then Google did something to the Mac client for G-Drive. It started to be a slug on the MacMini and take up most of the cycles for the first hour or more that the machine was turned on while it thrashed about finding out what, if any thing, had changed. To be fair, Dropbox did the same thing, but only for about 5-10 minutes. I got used to not using the computer for 10 minutes, after a power on and telling G-Drive to just stop. Today it dawned on me. I'm spend 10 bucks a month for squat. So, I'm making sure every thing in 'Google Drive' directory is in the 'Dropbox' directory (all praise Midnight Commander, blessed be it's name), then I'm going to nuke the local copy of the Google Drive, and start the process of deleting the cloud copy and dropping my G-drive subscription down to the 15 G free level.

I am becoming less and less gruntled by Google, other than their search engine. Even Google Play on Android is less and less useful. It's search function is weird, to say the least.

Dropbox, on the other hand, is still freaking great. For example, on Android, with it's native client, if you select a media file, it will stream it, vs doing an actual down load. That is a cool functionality. It also integrates well with other applications, something that G-drive really does not do well.

  6. Sleep aid seems to be working as designed.  I may have to adjust what time I take my drugs however, as taking them at 20:00 results in the 8-9 hours of sleep ending around 5:00, which is just a tad bit early for me.  I'm thinking 23:00 would be a good time.  That gives me until 7:00 to 8:00 roughly. Also think I need to adjust all my computer/phone based alarms to reflect this new schedule.

Actually the edit function works perfectly except for one little detail: ordinary text appears in white on a white background. Which makes it kind of hard to see - but it's there, and you can prove it by...

    • highlighting
    • selecting the entire text and converting it to a bulleted list
    • a greasemonkey script (for firefox and maybe some other browsers) that is mentioned frequently but I don't remember the details

You can also go to raw HTML mode, but if it's a long post you are editing the massive amount of cruft in the text of the post might be a problem.

(The Edit function isn't working for me correctly (the text isn't filling and it won't let me type anything other than the reason for the edit), so if someone could merge these two posts, that would be awesome!

There's a reason why 25 to 40 percent of my post start with "Freaking edit mode".  My predictive keyboard supplies edit them mode as choices when ever I "type" freaking now.

  9. The sleep aid worked.  Ironically it was my alarm I set to remind me to go to sleep now that woke me up tonight.  Said alarm has been deleted.  However this is not my happy face as I'm not quite sure what to do now to return to sleep.  About half of my brain is saying take another, but the other half is saying overdosing on strong sleep aids, even by one pill, is historically been a bad idea for a lot of people.  I think I going to have a glass of milk and read something boring for a while and see what that does.

  10. I have noticed that when chibi Grace's eyes become effectively truncated acute triangles things are about to turn ugly for who ever is the other side in the video game CG is an avatar of.  Today's makes it 4 for 4 going all the way back to May 7th, 2010, in Hammerclordians in the main comic.  Granted the main comic example isn't chibi Grace.

  11. Just had some Chicken Tikka from Desi Wok, the "casual" Indian food place in town.  Last Saturday I had it at India Palace, the "fine dining" Indian place in town (there are more, but those two are the ones I know the most about).  Reading the great wiki's article on Chicken Tikka I find that, in fact, they are not quite the same dish.  India Place serves the "sizzler" version, which explains why they don't ask for a "spice" level and Desi Wok does.  Learn something new every day.

@The Old Hack, what is the present ruling on making EU Referendum remarks outside the Politics thread?

Edit: this might, of course, impact the acceptability of my present avatar also.

The EU thing about your avatar would not have dawned on me if you had not said anything.  I looked at it and thought Tedd, with stars.  Must be getting ready to take his super cute form.  Now, of course, I see what it is but, like I have said, sometimes I can be a bit slow on some things.
