      Welcome!   03/05/2016

Welcome, everyone, to the new 910CMX Community Forums. I'm still working on getting them running, so things may change.  If you're a 910 Comic creator and need your forum recreated, let me know and I'll get on it right away.  I'll do my best to make this new place as fun as the last one!

I'm not sure Tedd is ok to explain herself to SUSAN, much less Diane.

Susan has known Tedd as a girl since Grace's birthday party, where Susan got to experience being a boy. Susan actually has a Tedd fairy doll now. Diane, however, is a stranger to Tedd, so, yes.

Of course, by the time Susan and Diane arrive, Susan should have already explained that Tedd can change his gender and often does, so when Diane actually meets Tedd, she might say something like "You look just like Nanase when you're a girl" when Tedd is a boy.

I was under the impression that the mall had been evacuated by then, obviously people saw Susan save the kid being chased by the one aberration, but Sarah was confused when Susan said "someone else"  and stated the the news only mentioned "a woman with a sword and a fairy" so it would seem apparent that Adrian wasn't seen fighting the other aberrations. This page is the last time in that part of the story that we see bystanders running and then every page in that part since shows a rather empty part of the mall except for our heroes and the aberrations.

I'm under the impression that Dan didn't want to draw any more fleeing bystanders that didn't have anything to contribute to the story in his head at the time. He implied that there are people in the parking lot when Ashley undid her ponytail to change her appearance, but didn't show any other people who weren't developed characters until after Tara destroyed the spider vampire. He also didn't show the train that delayed Ellen, Nanase, and Ashley; it was just "sound effects" including "CHOO-CHOO" which was absolutely absurd--I haven't seen an actual working steam locomotive since 1955!

I think I made that last point before, but I'm going to elaborate: Steam locomotives in the United States were well on their way to be replaced by diesels or electrics by the end of the 1930s. World War II gave them a reprieve.

Anyway, the second incident in the Moperville Mall in less than a week should have drawn a lot of police, media, and lookie-loos, and Dan could pull all sorts of plot points  from that premise if he wants to at any time.

  3. Maybe Ashley is blushing (again) because she's thinking about baseball?

but I still say she's coming off as trying to flirt with Ashley rather than impress her, I mean did she let Diane hold her? Diane would likely have loved to.

Given Nanase's clothing and pose in the next-to-last panel, I'd vote for flirting too, even if Nanase might not be aware of what she's doing. Might also explain why Ashley's made Nanase uncomfortable from day one.

Diane would love to, but given how she doesn't like to be caught geeking out like Elijah, she probably wouldn't admit it. Diane might figure out that Ashley is the reason why Nanase is wearing that very abbreviated outfit.

The short version is that the offsides rule prohibits offensive players from being closer to the goal than both the ball and all defensive players other than the goalkeeper. This is to prevent offensive players from clustering together forward of the ball’s position and creating a defensive barrier to keep the defending players away from the ball carrier.

Wouldn't that mean that all defensive players have to do is stand still and let the leading offensive player run closer to the goal?

  5. The big idea in this comic is that Grace is exuding confidence she really doesn't have. The Secret of Sam showed Grace second-, third-, and fourth-guessing from beginning to end. Rhoda seems to have more self-confidence than both Grace and Ashley at this point in the overall story.

... unlike previous page though, here I'm SURE noone would hear that, despite how unlikely that is, because there is noone else in the store who would be plot-convenient to get this summary.

So Mr. Tensaided, Rhea, Rick, and Elijah would not be plot-convenient. Unless, of course, Dan decides they are.

Tonight (its after midnight here) I'm expecting we will be going back to the party on Wednesday, but we might find out later that someone in the video store did pick up at least part of this.

Elliot and Ellen look unusually similar, but could be fraternal twins; not getting why it's obvious to Diane that they're not. Given that she knows they both do magic stuff, she might have cause to wonder about it. She seems just a tad too certain.

Possibly because Diane was there to hear Dame Tara describe the strange difference between Elliot and Ellen, along with Diane's potential as a vampire hunter.

Are you sure it wasn't precognition?

This might just be a matter of semantics, but Immortals technically don't have precognition. Jerrry's term was virtually clairvoyant; I can't remember where else this ability has been mentioned, but I'm pretty sure there were always qualifiers. My understanding is that they their predictions are based entirely on information they already know, they just know a lot of information and have the ability to process it in ways humans (and modern computers) can't.

Precognition can be thought of as mental time travel into the future, and, as the Word of Dan stated long ago in one of the Q & As, time travel will never be part of EGS. Never, never, never, until perhaps it is.

Magus, Helena, and Demetrius were in all of one scene, which was over before the party properly got started.

Magus split early (literally) but Helena and Demetrius were around for the karaoke contest.

While they weren't actually at the party itself, Mr. Sciuridae and Grace's "siblings" got in touch with Grace the morning of her birthday, and that was important to how the party went.

There's another person who would really fit into the party: Charlotte. She knows Diane, Ellen, Nanase, and even Ashley now, and she knows about magic. Plus, she's about as smart as Susan and Diane, and more level-headed. She's probably been investigated by now, so maybe she's whitelisted. But unless Charlotte actually tagged along with Rhea-tachi to the video store, I don't see a convenient way to involve her now.
