      Welcome!   03/05/2016

Welcome, everyone, to the new 910CMX Community Forums. I'm still working on getting them running, so things may change.  If you're a 910 Comic creator and need your forum recreated, let me know and I'll get on it right away.  I'll do my best to make this new place as fun as the last one!

  1. What Are You Ingesting?

^ As a person that eats rice as a staple in his diet, I never understood why you guys in the west treat it like some form of delicacy. (With the exception being rice crispies... mmm, rice crispies.) Though I guess I would recommend cooking rice with milk instead. In other news, I was eating candied bananas just now; they taste better fresh but hey they're still good.

  4. Things that make you sad.

My condolences. How long have those seizures been occurring?
  5. Last Post Wins

Lord almighty that was crazy *opens door and flops out of the car* I'm going to pay whoever actually knows this a fine amount of money for this vehicle and man am I tired. *rolls his head from side to side and notices that for now, everything is calm* All I have to wonder is what happens when you add a marshmallow monster and give it Win Energy to feed off of... hopefully it doesn't turn into a cosmic horror story straight out of Homeworld: Cataclysm. *nobody knows what he's talking about* It was a 3rd Universe Incarnation, year 1999 Stand-Alone expansion pack to one of the greatest RTS games ever guys; the antagonist basically a virus made from a Great Old One's farts or something... *slumps over again, looking very exhausted*
  6. The Grammar Thread

You mean the one that has Parsley, Sage, Rosemary and Thyme? Remembering [them] to one who lives there? Who once was a true love of [theirs]?
  7. Things that make you sad.

Long ago, I frequented 3 forums; a General Video Game Forum, an Ace Combat Forum, and here. While it's been hit-or-miss most of the time, the one thing I loved about all the forums was this sense of... community. I posted a long time ago somewhere that shared interests are the glue that sticks people together - at least at first. And while at first you kind of need to adjust to the environment, once you get into the swing of things (even just by lurking the comic forums as I do), you start to feel that... sense of catharsis, and that mildly overwhelming-in-a-good-way feeling that here are dozens, hundreds, or even thousands of like-minded individuals around the world just there at the touch of a button. I post about all this here in the sad thread because I feel like with social media outlets like Facebook and Twitter now dominating the discourse, well, the world's moved on. Of the 3 places I used to frequent, this comic forum is the only place left with some of the old community still intact. While I still get that feeling in the new social media (dude, everytime I tweet out #StarCo there's at least 1 or 2 people responding) it's somehow not as fun. Maybe it's partly because people can't do the kind of wild zany things that we can roleplay do here. Most of all I miss some of the people; of course a few of them are still here (namely Hack, Pharaoh and Zorua), then there are those people I still fondly remember (Heresy, That guy with the Dwemer robot avatar (really sorry I couldn't remember your name, I liked you, man), JJ, Celtic Minstrel, and Lyre Harper in particular, especially Lyre, I was actually really touched when she - around November 2013, checked my old account to see if I was still OK.) To change some lyrics to an old song: Some [have left], and some are [staying], in my life, I love them all.
  8. Corrupt a Wish

Granted, here, have this copy of Superman IV. Have fun. I wish for a new Reb Brown Movie.
  9. Last Post Wins

*spots Myran's person a few meters off to his left* You are coming with me, coward. *Opens door, grabs him by the legs, and pulls him inside* Also this warp thingy is taking too long... *notices another button* I wonder what this do- *the Fiat and all its occupants blink out of existence* *Boaty McBoatface hits the water and starts to speed off* *the Fiat and all its passengers blink into existence near the aft section of the ship* I haven't seen a spectacle of sight and sound like that since the last time I watched 2001: A Space Odyssey *shivers*
  10. Last Post Wins

Alright, nobody still aboard objected to this so we're gonna do it! *aims for a dead-center jump from the ramp* Here we go, here we go, what in the name of what I hold sacred am I doing? *notices a label that says "Pull for extra short burst of speed: Warning: Use only in dire situations!" Ohh, see this is why I'm still undecided whether or not to name this the Grand Arseny, I saw this thingamajig from Castle of Cagliostro! This ought to be fun! *pulls* *the Fiat suddenly gains even more speed, pushing the car to nearly half the speed of sound as it launches off the ramp* *space is warped, and time becomes bendable as all the passengers (inside and outside) begin to experience time differently from the outside world*
  11. Things That Make You Happy

I find it infinitely amusing and pleasing that in the Last Post Wins thread, with the help of a few others, I managed to make a surprisingly zany idea that I now want to adapt into my own work someday; that of a modern era Fiat 500 Abarth which for some reason or another is apparently a nexus and hotbed for interdimensional goings-on, is apparently so swift and agile that despite being severely overloaded with people and objects (>6 individuals + instruments, as well as a guy surfing on top) it still handles like a dream, and is decked out in upgrades straight out of the Castle of Cagliostro Fiats. And even if this isn't exactly good writing, just the thought of an overcrowded compact car being driven by a guy in a military uniform, with the creator of the Back to the Future series riding shotgun, and several pour souls crammed in the back seats just makes me smile XD Still on the fence whether to call it the PlotMobile (since apparently inside the car and in its immediate vicinity; Apparently space is warped, and time is bendable.) or the Grand Arseny (because Lupin, both the first and third; literature class is awesome like that).
  12. Last Post Wins

*sees the DeLorean off to his side* Well aren't you a sight for sore eyes? *salutes* Fam, let me get the sun-roof down for you. *sunroof opens, allowing him to slip out while Oz continues to surf the car topside* *Michael J Fox plop in from an interdimentional PlotHole on the shotgun seat, whom, after initial their initial confusion, spots the flying DeLorean to his left* ...you're not going to sue, are you? Wait, yours time-traveled, theirs is just flying... so does that mean... *attention snaps back on to the ensuing chase as he spots the rogue porpoising boat falling in the general direction of the coastline about 5 kilometers (or ~3 miles for you Imperial folk) away* Well as evidenced by our suing content creator next to us I can basically rename this car the PlotMobile for how it's been doing all of this... so I wonder if... *spots a conveniently placed ramp* ...people aboard this car speak your mind in the next few seconds because I am TOTALLY going to jump that ramp if nobody objects! Addendum: Question, which is a better name for a plot-convenient hokey little car like what we have right now? The Plotmobile or the Grand Arseny? (A reference to Arsene Lupin, both the first and the third)
  13. Videogame Thread

Wait a second, does that mean its compatible with more modern OSes? (at least 7, possibly 8.1 and 10?)
  14. The Association Game

Mystery Science Theater 3000 - Space Mutiny.
  15. Last Post Wins

*perplexed* *lowers window and hands OzLion's person a pair of high adhesive gloves, and matching pair of equally adhesive knee pads* If you insist on staying up there I would suggest you at least wear these, where we're going you're gonna want to stick around.
  16. Last Post Wins

*Drives at break-neck speed* *hears bad harpsichord playing* ...the world is that noise... *hears didgeridoo* ...abwha? *someone says "Scooby-Dooby-Doo!"* ...OK, what? *hears someone say "Jinkies!"* OK that's- *sees Arcanimus, Zorua, Stature, and Prof. Tomoe's persons somehow crammed into the back seats* *exasperated* HOW DID YOU GET IN HERE?! THIS CAR IS BARELY MEANT FOR MORE THAN 5 PEOPLE, AND SOMEHOW YOU'VE STUFFED YOURSELVES INTO THIS MICROSCOPIC VEHICULAR SPACE LIKE SARDINES IN A CAN! I WAS NOT MADE AWARE, THAT THIS VEHICLE WAS DIRECTLY LINKED TO A HAMMERSPACE LOCATION! WOAH-*barely avoids boulder* Well, I'm glad this thing still handles relatively well all things considered. Also, Zorua, pleased to meet you again... sort off... I know you from somewhere but I can't quite tell from where. Oh... where's Leslie et al? And please don't bring them inside, we're already cramped as it IS- *barely avoids another boulder*
  17. Dream a little dream.

I had this odd dream where I was basically like Captain Marvel (the DC one) where I could shapeshift into anyone if I sad "Project X" (where X is what I'm trying to turn into), and I needed to use it to infiltrate a bunker complex full of angry hostiles. Except for some reason when I said "Project Dreamboy" it turned me into a 5'5 Caucasian woman instead. Apparently it worked on opposites, and frankly that wasn't the weirdest part of the dream. The odd part was when I went around as this woman and rode a jetbike into a giant tower powered by residual solar energy being directly sucked in from the nearby star.... That was about all I could remember but I did save the name "Project Dreamboy" for one of the stories I'm trying to write these days. EDIT: I wasn't a 5'5 Caucasian woman, instead i was one of the chracters I was writing in one of the stories I had just finished working on at the time. (still female though)
  18. What are you learning?

I spend most of my time not playing video games and posting random stuff on my facebook account, I'm studying statistics and economics. Mainly because those two I still need to work on because of college. Meanwhile in my spare time I like reading about my country's ancient history, and lower mythology. If the old world is gonna make a comeback I need to find a way to incorporate it properly with what I'm going to be making in the next few years. Oh and this will also include the aesthetic and auditory motifs that somehow survived at least 1 foreign occupation. I just do this research partly because i just want to, partly as a responsibility, partly as tribute, and because I want to show the world that the Filipino, beyond working at Manual Labor, cheap employment, and cheap English education, can be profound, artful, and beautiful, that the current drivel that dominates the Filipino discourse wasn't always that way, that as a country - we were, and can be - a proud and prosperous one.
  19. Corrupt a Wish

Granted, the common and the obscure trade roles now. This means now everyone's a musical hipster these days. I wish to find a physical manifestation of a plot device.
  20. Last Post Wins

Yeah, not really. You turned to a Marshmallow, a few of us were watching your marshmallow self consume the win, and the win got hit by a sentient boat. Speaking of... *finds a random Fiat 500 Abath* Maintaining pursuit! *commandeers aforementioned car and takes off after Boaty McBoatface in it while playing ridiculous music*
  21. Things that make you MAD

Dane to notice that while he was one of the earliest adapters, he wasn't the only one who practiced it. See: Imperial China, the Aztecs, and the Incas for proof-positive of this.
  22. Things that make you MAD

I'm fairly certain they're talking about the MLP Twilight. Which I'm actually OK with since for a sentient race of equines, they're pretty reasonable.
  23. Things That Make You Happy

It's not everyday you see your Country's President giving a speech at your University.
  24. Things that make you MAD

The University Administration has gone from "Reasonable, but inefficient" to "impossibly impractical, and inefficient". So there's an event in about 5 hours time I have to go to. The call time is 6 AM local time. They announced this 12 AM LOCAL TIME. They want all performers and staff members to be on the spot bright and early the next day and somehow expect us to be in tip-top shape.and presumably having slept at least 6 hours previously. This happens sometiems I know but here's the really infuriating part. THE PROGRAM ISN'T EVEN SUPPOSED TO START UNTIL 10 AM LOCAL TIME. So ihave to be there bright and early tomorrow or later today (and thank the eyes of the minors I can't swear here), but it's not even for a good reason. They said it's for "general run-throughs" BUT I DEMAND TO KNOW why does it have to be 6 AM. That DOES NOT take long (you can be done in 1 hour tops, even for a long event). BUT NOPE, 6 AM. I've seen homicidal Commissars from Warhammer 40l more reasonable than the current Uni Admin.
