When using the editor, click on the smiley face in the top row. It will pull down a menu of the "official" forum icons. The rest are from @HarJIT's Greasemonkey script. I'm posting one here from the official list.
  2. What Are You Listening To?

I now have Tubular Bells running through my head after watching "The Exorcist" with Mrs. Prof. We have both decided that our cat does not need an exorcism after all.
  3. So, what did I miss?

Yes, the toxicity has been brought under check, thanks to a firm hand at moderating by folks like my good friend @The Old Hack. If you run into any problems, talk to him and he will see that they are dealt with in a swift and fair manner.

    Oh, really, now? How nice.
  5. Changing Medications (Level of Trust Required)

Thank you, although the cat has buggered off for now and is sleeping somewhere else. One of the outdoor ferals (who's really trying to be an indoor cat, we think) is yowling non-stop outside our front door. Mrs. Prof has gone outside to do her daily (sometimes multi-daily) dealings with him. I think I'll take this chance to raid her ibuprofen. On disk #2 now, verifying 2 TB. Only 3 TB left to go (Only! Ha!).
  6. What Are You Ingesting?

Shrimp sushi roll from the local Chinese delivery place. For some unknown reason, it's better the second day after sitting in the fridge. Lots of soy sauce, dab of pseudo-wasabi. Nom.

Yes, upon further review, he seems fine. Had some about 90 minutes ago, too. Finally started backing up my music machine in anticipation of all of the upgrades it's going to have to go through before the end of the month. I finally had the hardware to do it (a working Uninterruptible Power Supply and an 8 TB external HD (to hold multiple backups of a 6 TB system)) and a copy of Clonezilla in hand to get the backup rolling. It's verifying the first disk now. Three more disks and 5 TB to go. Unfortunately, I'm getting a stress headache and my energy is dropping off quickly. I'm drinking cup of coffee #2 and am about to raid Mrs. Prof's ibuprofen once she gets off the phone. Wish me stamina ... and luck.

Here. (I was also considering the "on the back" answer.) D'oh! Stupid me. That led to the entire plotline. I've really got to have my memory abilities checked by my doctor one of these days. Argh.
  9. Story Monday June 26, 2017

In essence, she has—they don't work without the dam, and she created the dam. Once the dam is gone, the watches won't work anymore. I'm guessing.

Did Catalina cast part of the spell? I must have missed where she got marked ...
  11. Story Monday June 26, 2017

But to "have it taken away" ... was she referring to the ability to make watches or the mark she gave him? Or both? He won't lose his ability to see magic, will he?
  12. Changing Medications (Level of Trust Required)

11:10 p.m. CDT 20170625. I had some energy today, which is almost worse than having none at all. You see, I didn't get to choose when I had energy. I had a bit during the Formula 1 race that mostly carried over into the IndyCar race (they were back to back), then a brief spike towards the end of Twin Peaks: The Return, but in between I had nothing at all. I almost missed the beginning of Twin Peaks and would have, had Mrs. Prof not woke me up and had me order lo mein and sushi from the local Chinese delivery place. Hell, even my cat has no energy at the moment. Mrs. Prof woke me up to pull off my compression stocking—that's when I saw him sitting by me on a pillow. He didn't move while I took my nightly pills. I had to pet him to see if he was okay (he is). Incidentally, the compression stocking is doing bupkes, other than making Mrs. Prof's day hell. My edema isn't going anywhere. I may have to go back on the Lasix after all. I still don't know when I'm going to be able to get the GERD test run. That's up to Mrs. Prof's schedule, as is the drop-off of the prescription at the compounding pharmacy, and her schedule is so screwed up it looks like a jumbo pretzel. I'm just waiting for the ENT to start bugging me about it.

EEEEEEEeeeeggggh! You can tell which kidney they're in? Well, I guess that makes sense. It's just scary as hell to think about it.
  14. Changing Medications (Level of Trust Required)

Actually, it was a buck-and-a-quarter quarterstaff, but no one said anything to him about it.
  15. What Are You Watching?

The Formula One Azerbaijan Grand Prix. There's been so many bumps that have left debris on the track that they've red flagged the race at lap 23 of 51 so they can clean the entire track. It's been a bizarre race, to be sure, and it's not even halfway over.
  16. Changing Medications (Level of Trust Required)

Oh, yeah, the leg pump. I had to wear two of the damned things when I was in the hospital after I broke my ankles. Not fun.
  17. Things You Find Amusing

I honestly did not know that Ctrl-F5 trick. Useful for debugging HTML.
  18. Trail Camera and Other Nature Images

Not a trail camera image, but a photo of our current backyard feral colony feeding: Took them a while to get along together, but they've finally calmed down.

  20. Changing Medications (Level of Trust Required)

3:58 CDT 20170624 It's worn off again—the pain medicine, that is, but this time closer to the regularly scheduled dose time of 4am. Only problem is that I woke up somewhere in between falling asleep and now. I think it was around 2am or so. Probably due to right foot swelling pain. Anyway, one hydrocodone pill, down the hatch, on schedule. It still won't help the foot swelling/edema. Hell, if anything it's been getting worse with this stocking. I might have to go back onto the Lasix to get rid of it. Mrs. Prof took off my stocking tonight and said she found a "line" across part of my leg. I'll bet it was caused by uneven compression from the stocking, either by the thing just pressing wrong or by Mrs. Prof not putting it on correctly. I hope it's not the latter.
  21. What Are You Ingesting?

Jasmine oolong again. I keep waking up tonight, so I thought it was time I revisited an old friend. Plus, my sinuses have been acting up. Good for what ails ya.
  22. Changing Medications (Level of Trust Required)

    Opposite side of the country.
  23. What Are You Watching?

#Live·PD on A&E. They just busted some old guy for crack cocaine possession. He did not go quietly.
  24. Changing Medications (Level of Trust Required)

Good to hear. I've been having my own early wear-off issues tonight, so I'm gonna fudge my last hydrocodone dose by about 45 minutes.
  25. Things that make you go WTF

That's almost what happened with the cats involved with the brat. Mrs. Prof's cleaning did some good today, And yes, Garland Animal Control did come by the GPAC and do an inventory. Apparently, they did not send the brat's father, since things went well.
