  1. What Are You Ingesting?

Getting ready to have grits. The rice cooker is merrily cooking away and should yield a pot of grits in about 15 minutes or so.
  2. Changing Medications (Level of Trust Required)

Good lord! I've had a big toenail removed without the numbing spray, but of course without the frostbite and without the matching toenail removed. Not something I'd want to live through.
  3. Changing Medications (Level of Trust Required)

Personal experience? I hope not. I got my first good post-op look at the toe. Gah. It looks like ground beef smothered in Betadine. Brenda did post-op care. I've still got to keep an ortho shoe on, lest I suffer bumps and accompanying pain.
  4. Changing Medications (Level of Trust Required)

The toenail problem is gone. As in really gone. The podiatrist surgically removed my toenail yesterday. It was out of control. I mean, the thing looked like an alien had invaded my foot after he removed it. He went one step further and cauterized the nail bed with carboxylic acid so that it will never grow back. He also gave me a gizmo called a "crest" something to wear under my hammertoe to keep it from causing problems. So, $8 for the gizmo, $150 for the surgery. At least it didn't hurt at all—not even the pain killer injection. He used a numbing spray as he was injecting, which when combined with my oxycodone probably did the trick. The weird part is that I didn't even bleed during any part of the surgery. Now I have to soak my foot in a water/vinegar mix for 2 weeks, put Silvadene antibiotic cream on it. and go back in 2 weeks for a follow-up. Could be worse.
  5. The Album, and Other Music

The album cover is done, but we're having trouble coming up with other artwork that conforms to the printer's templates. As in, the person I'm working with doesn't know how to work with templates and can't easily do CMYK. If I use Disc Makers' own service, they will credit me $100 for already having the cover, but that's it. They want $350 for the rest, which is a rip-off for plain black text on a white background. Does anyone know a graphic designer who will do the inner liner, back cover, and CD art for reasonable rates? It's just text using a Microsoft font against a white BG, rendered in 300 dpi CMYK. I can even supply templates. A copy of Photoshop is probably preferred. Help?
  6. What Are You Ingesting?

Do you like Julia Child's eggs or Jacques Pepin's eggs? I'm a Pepin-ite myself. Hot and custardy, with salt and pepper.
  7. What Are You Ingesting?

No problem. They're becoming far too common nowadays. It's easy for something like this to slip through.
  8. What Are You Ingesting?

Sensitive topic, considering what happened in Florida yesterday. Sorry.
  9. What Are You Ingesting?

Taco Cabana's Fully Loaded Grilled Shrimp Tacos. Nom. Excellent. It's on the front page scroll.
  10. What Are You Ingesting?

Bulgarian yogurt with the last of my medlar jelly. The two mix surprisingly well. and they seem to have helped my heartburn.
  11. What Are You Ingesting?

What do you use to look up chickens? A very bright light?
  12. Changing Medications (Level of Trust Required)

Yep, I'm done with the wound doctor. Now it's a trip back to the podiatrist to deal with an ingrown toenail and a hammertoe.
  13. Changing Medications (Level of Trust Required)

Going back to wound care in about 20 minutes. I think the wound is healed—the problem is just a severely ingrown toenail, which means a trip to a separate doctor.
  14. What Are You Ingesting?

Just finished off a bowl of Bulgarian yogurt mixed with chocolate pudding. I need the probiotics that it provides to offset what the Clindamycin kills off.
  15. What Are You Ingesting?

Pumpkin and piloncillo are in the masa. The filling is sweet cream cheese and the occasional raisin.
  16. Changing Medications (Level of Trust Required)

Waaay to many skeletons in my closet.
  17. What Are You Watching?

Willow channel. A T20I between England and Australia. Australia are batting the chase with a target of 138.
  18. What Are You Ingesting?

    Pumpkin dessert tamales. Delicioso.
  19. Last Post Wins

Yes you would. No I wouldn't! Oh, I thought you wanted abuse! This is the argument suite. Abuse is one suite over.
  20. Changing Medications (Level of Trust Required)

Couldn't go to the other wound care doctor. Still on the Clindamycin. Sprouted another leak. Waiting for my Monday appointment. At least the X-rays came back negative.
  21. Changing Medications (Level of Trust Required)

No hospital trip. I did have to go back to my PCP, since my wound care doctor left town until Monday. He's put me on a stronger antibiotic. I'm also going to a different wound care doctor tomorrow morning, who my doctor likes.
  22. Changing Medications (Level of Trust Required)

Big problem with the toe ...
  23. Changing Medications (Level of Trust Required)

I hate this. I got woke up by a Zofran emergency. Just all of a sudden felt like I was gonna barf. My use of Zofran is getting more common. Very worrying.
  24. What Are You Ingesting?

Bulgarian yogurt with a spoonful of tart Montmorency cherry jam. Nom.
  25. Changing Medications (Level of Trust Required)

    Mine's probably more like lycheethropy.
