The goal to beat is 72 years, 110 days.  George VI died 6 February 1952, so our target is May 27, 2024.  Born 21 Aprl 1926, she'll be 98 years, 1 month, 6 days old.  That only requires going about a year beyond the average life expectancy for someone her age.

Remember, Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother lived to be over 101, but George VI died at 56

So let's keep in mind a few other longevity records for her and her descendants to hit before 2024

    According to the infalible Wikipedia

The oldest heir apparent to an heir apparent to an heir apparent was Edward VIII (aged 6 years 213 days at the death of Victoria). Prince George of Cambridge is currently 6 years, 94 days old and would surpass Edward VIII on 20 February 2020.

Charles, The Prince of Wales is already the oldest Heir Apparent

Prince William, the Duke of Cambridge is already the oldest Heir Apparent to an Heir Apparent
Elizabeth, despite producing the longest serving heirs apparent, was never heir apparent herself.  At birth, she was third in line and everyone expected her to become just another royal princess to  haul out on state occasions and marry off to some foreign prince.

Liz will reach the number four spot of all Monarchs with verifiable dates of reign who ruled independent and sovereign nations in March of 2020
There are a few longer reigning monarchs from antiquity or who "ruled" states that were actually British Protectorates or clients of the Holy Roman Empire.  But do they actually count?

And on 18 July 2020, Elizabeth II will hit 25,000 days as Queen

  2. Ashley, before you go jumping to conclusions about who may be hitting-on whom, please realize something

Nanase used to date your current boyfriend
Nanase currently dates your current boyfriend's sister

So either the relationship between Ellen & Nanase has an "open" quality of which we had not yet been made aware

    Or

Nanase is far more careless than I ever expected

  3. Authority is useful to human society

If there wasn't some one with whom everyone else could disagree, then we would need to spend all our time disagreeing with each other over every little thing

But with an Authority figure, we can all disagree with the authority

Thus we can reach agreement and actually accomplish something

Nor am I. And a good thing too, that guy was a jerk.

I too am a continually developing jerk
It is amazing how many different ways one can be a jerk

I know where I was when the first plane hit on 9/11--I was still asleep in bed

    Me too
It was my day off so I was sleeping late
My Mom called me, but wasn't able to describe what was happening very well
Years later, she would tell me about my Dad's stroke in almost the same way
Dementia is not the filter though which you want to receive news

    As for Challenger?
I was in the Student recreation center in the basement under the cafeteria
It was lunch and, as usual, the Student Services director had the big screen tuned into Scrabble hosted by Chuck Woolery when the special report interrupted the game
What struck me was the next day when I walked into a 3rd story classroom overlooking the centre square of the campus and saw the oversized US flag flying at eye level

  6. So Susan, while you are fighting for your life, discovering that your n-great grandfather is still alive, that he has a daughter (your aunt) of which he knew nothing, and both of them are at the school on the other side of town, the guy everyone assumes is your boyfriend along with his sister and current girlfriend are abducted by a vampire and and alien for a bizarre occult ritual...

Yes, simply giving each other "space" is certainly all the emotional support either of you needed

maybe their levels of interest may not be the same as Ashley's or Tedd's but they have enough that they can't deny it so they may as well just say so.

Yes, it was quite a reveal when Elliot finally admitted to himself that he enjoyed The-Unfortunately-Named-Cheerleader-Themed-Super-Heroine and the other female forms
Such a reveal that getting the others to admit something similar might almost be seen as anticlimactic

So, he is kinda like a Senate majority leader.

    Well...

On the job, Edward is almost always putting the best interest of the public first
The one time he put personal (family) interests first, he didn't even try to make it look like something else and had to accept actual consequences

As for how he runs his own house, he remains consistent within what he believes to be the best interests of those in his house, he will listen to others in his house who may not share his views, and he does not change household policy based on the opinions and ambitions of his bosses and neighbors

  9. "I just don't have a filter..."

Picture it, network television in the 1980s

An elderly character with dementia symptoms (that varied by season, by episode, or even within episodes) called Sophia Petrillo (portrayed by Estelle Getty) becomes one of the most popular personalities on The Golden GIrls and related TV shows by simply saying any thought that may enter her head with no filter whatsoever (at least to the limit that a Mouse produced show could get away with that)

So when will Ashley begin telling allegorical anecdotes of her childhood in the weird and fictitious land of California?

  10. A long time ago, the belief that if you had any dental problem it was ultimately the fault of your own poor dental hygiene was wide spread both among the public and within the dental profession

Many still hold this view, and some dental professionals who treat children (but not necessarily pediatric dental specialists) will often sell this point hard to children, thinking it will convince them to adopt lifelong good dental habits

But when there is already pain, that is not the time to punish the patient
