    I suspect that what we are seeing of Jerry is him without the couple centuries of accumulated wisdom. "Zeus" is probably what he always liked calling himself until he realized how pretentious it actually was, probably after having a few  of those "epic hissy fits" he mentioned.

    So this is probably how he wants to "make the world a better place." He wants to find a way to get Immortals to change their laws so they can more directly affect the world.
