I am not sure if I would get it, but then again, I don't play MtG.

Also, I wonder if Hope is showing her ears “IRL” or not.

Seems suicidal. She only has 20 plus change life, 22 currently, and has do pay the energy costs of the mimiced cards in life points. Seems like she could run out before she sees the benefits. Maybe it becomes a race to see who dies first - I mean more so than the game already is. Like a sprint to end the current game?

Further thought, maybe she never intended to win, just to send her message, but then why would the publisher have created such a card?

Is there a similar card IRL MtG?

She earlier said she needed to play well enough to play Sarah.  Of course, Sarah was having a losing streak as well, so Hope, did in fact, play as well as Sarah.  So she got to play The Card. And Sarah said it would have worked.
