  1. Things that make you go WTF

Yeah, I mainly based my comment on my experience with Windows 10, both XP and 7 had the ability to use a somewhat classic 9x taskbar and control panel (not exactly but close enough that it didn't take me long to get used to it), I never touched 8 because of the issues I had been hearing about it, even when they patched it to 8.1 and re added the taskbar and stuff. 10 still has that "I really should be used on tablets" UI but they also scattered all the customization everywhere. I mean, I swear I was able to customize the desktop for my grandparents computer so that the program icons were larger but stuff like the taskbar and program windows weren't as big, but all i've been able to find in settings is a "scale and layout" option that does everything at either 100% (normal) or 125% (large), it is possible to set a "custom" size between 100% and 150% but it's still just 1 setting that affects everything. And I know there are third party programs that might do what I'm asking, but I'm wary about installing extra stuff on my grandparents computer.
  2. Things that make you worried.

Does he have a litter box or do you just let him outside to do his business, I ask cus if he's going to the bathroom more often than usual that could be the reason for the weight loss and might be due to the change in what he's eating. The fact that he's still active seems like a good sign.
  3. Things that make you go WTF

Yeah, it seems like the concept of making something easier for newcomers to get into also means bringing veterans down to that level. But in reality veterans are at a disadvantage because they had become so used to how it worked before that the new way is seems more convoluted. It's even worse when software devs believe that for newcomers to not accidentally mess something up, get frustrated and eventually trash the software, they need to hide all backend configuration and admin stuff as deep in the system as possible so that there's no way a new user could be like "oh what's this do?" click "OMG WHAT HAPPENED? HOW DO I CHANGE THIS BACK? THIS PROGRAM IS A PIECE OF CARP!!" But then you still get people that end up doing that anyway and the veteran isn't much help because they're not familiar with the new system yet and trying to ask what they were doing before something happened is met with "I was just looking at stuff!", it isn't very helpful... I may have some experience with this.
  4. Story, Friday June 9, 2017

Yes there is, in Hammerchlorians Jerry mentions that there's half-Immortal that they can ask for help if needed and Grace, who's standing right next to Sarah, says "You mean Mr Raven? He's my History teacher." and then goes on to describe how they all already knew about him. As for Sam, yes Grace would have kept that to herself because she would feel that's not her place to go telling everying, that and I think Sam might have asked her not to say anything after she made the comment about thinking only boys could grow beards. And of course Grace doesn't know that Adrian is Pandora's son, but Grace is at least in the same position as Sarah to possibly connect them herself as well. The part that Grace seems to be keeping secret though, is how close to Tedd's family Adrian is, Adrian didn't go into a lot of detail, but he did tell her that he taught Tedd's parents and remained good friends with them after they graduated, and that he blames himself for Tedd's mom being more focused on her career than her family.

Can't really be certain of that. Based on her other spells so far, the fact that being able to turn Susan male through the scan/paste spell means that Ellen is no longer getting strictly female transformation spells, so logically there is the potential for her to get the equivalent of MV5 to go along with her FV5 beam.
  6. Story, Friday June 9, 2017

If humans have affinities because they are descended from fairies in some way, then yeah, Pandora might be seeing herself as more than just Adrian's mother.
  7. NP Friday June 9, 2017

Maybe, I'd have to re-read the entire archives again, but so far the only evidence to a character's primary hand is which hand they hold their cell phones with, and yeah Elliot does seem to hold his cell phone with his right hand while Ellen holds hers with her left.
  8. Story, Friday June 9, 2017

She may or may not hint as something here, but I think Dan said that we will at least find out what a seers first purpose and Tedd's other ability are before the end of the arc. not sure about the second purpose though, wouldn't be surprised if Dan keep a lid on that for later.
  9. NP Friday June 9, 2017

It most certainly would make it so a certain wizard without a body wouldn't have to worry about ending up female if they could manipulate Ellen into zapping with the right hand. Speaking of which, do we know what everyone's primary hand is? Ellen seems like a Lefty considering that's been her main zappy hand, I would assume that automatically makes Elliot a lefty as well since Ellen would have gotten her lefthandedness from him. What about the others?
  10. NP Friday June 9, 2017

So, if Ellen can change sex with the scan/paste spell by switching which hands do the scan and paste, then does that mean that Ellen can do the equivalent of MV5 by zapping with the right hand instead of the left?
  11. http://www.egscomics.com/egsnp.php?id=625 OK, I had thought that maybe a new spell that Nanase would get would be able to make a clone of other people. This is probably the closest to it that Ellen can do.
  12. NP Monday June 5, 2017

She never seemed to exhibit chest envy in the main story, just a general infatuation with Nanase. Like "Nanase's soo cool I want to be just like her!" and so in this NP she gets her wish literally.

True, though old Jerry was the one that pointed out Magic having a flair for the dramatic, maybe that knowledge carried over to Jerry 2.0 and which gave him the certainty that it would work. Jerry 2.0 knew about Not_Tengu enchanting the punch so he must have known what Not_Tengu was capable of, so he would have known that the danger was enough that Nanase should get her magic back, but even her guardian form wouldn't be a match for him alone. Knowing about Ellen's copy spell, Jerry wanted to be sure she used it to copy Nanase's guardian form rather than attempt to copy Not_Tengu, I don't think she would have tried to copy him anyway but if her attempts to transform him failed she might have resorted to trying to copy him. It was probably a big gamble on Jerry's part in trying to guide Ellen into copying Nanase's guardian, but I think he had enough reason to believe it would work.
  14. Story Wednesday June 7, 2017

I think she knows why, but may have underestimated how startled Sarah would be. I think what Sarah was doing in her simulation might have been a factor as well, Pandora wouldn't know that Sarah was playing with catboy versions of her ex boyfriend, but to Sarah it's like Pandora walked in on her just finishing sexy fun times.

  17. Story Wednesday June 7, 2017

Ahh, I had to go back to Friday's comic and the commentary there does say it's still Thursday. I guess I got thrown off by the fact that the last time we saw a scene switch to Sarah using her spell in while still in her pajamas was the start of a new day in the story, and I had thought Dan forgot to note it in the comic itself.
  18. Story Monday June 5, 2017

I think Sam's reaction was more worry about Sarah being attracted to him, but then scaring her away if she found out he's not physically male.
  19. NP Wednesday June 7, 2017

Hence my comment. The way Dan's been setting up this whole Will of Magic thing, with it being able to change the system, flair for the dramatic, the Emissary of Magic, it's like the Will of Magic IS the divine power that granted Nanase's request for help and also let Ellen copy the guardian form fully. But it's not guaranteed that Ellen would be able to copy the form again later.
  20. NP Wednesday June 7, 2017

Ok...so Ellen's copy spell is very selective on when Ellen would be able to copy abilities with the forms, almost like there's a will with a flair for the dramatic....
  21. Story Wednesday June 7, 2017

OK, it's Friday, so Pandora's probably checking in to make sure Sarah's ready to step up spell usage to drain the area around the dam. I wonder if she'll mention anything about her realization about Tedd learning about the WoM changing and if she says anything about what she learned from Heka. I mean she's in her child form but her tone doesn't seem childish, more like "time for some real talk".
  22. Political Discussion Thread (READ FIRST POST)

I know, I was mainly amused by the differing responses to the changes, on the sexual assault aspect, a lot of the responses were positive and serious. But for the witchcraft aspect it several responses were similar to what ToH joked about in the "annoying" thread. Also something I just noticed that ToH might appreciate is that Canada is repealing blasphemy laws which Denmark apparently just did as well, the law prevented screenings of Monty Python's "The Life of Brian" in Sault-Ste-Marie when it was released in 1980.
  23. Things That Are Just Annoying

Quebec's been known to do it's own thing for ages now, for the rest of Canada the worst that can happen would be a bunch of accidental transformations followed by profuse apologies.
  24. Political Discussion Thread (READ FIRST POST)

In some potentially lighter political news, the Canadian government has been doing some cleaning up of the Criminal Code. For the more serious part, they've made it clearer that a rape victim's past sexual history can't be used against them by the defense. There had been a long standing belief of what's now referred to as The Twin Myths, in that 1) past sexual activity made it more likely the victim consented to the act and 2) that past sexual activity made a claim less believable. Basically this would hopefully lessen the fear a victim might have in being judged unfairly. In the more amusing aspect, it is now no longer illegal to practice witchcraft and sorcery.
  25. Story Monday June 5, 2017

I dunno, she would have a safe way to learn how to be comfortable with physical contact, which we know she has a desire to work on.
