Yeah it's weird that they seem to be doing things that way and not just directly telling them. There's obviously a reason that hopefully we'll see soon.

I'd say Ellen's help was with Tedd's social life rather than Tedd's love life. The whole double date thing was Grace's idea and considering Grace has a tendency of getting her friends together so they open up more, I would believe that she felt Ellen and Nanase should to spend some time hanging out with Tedd as well as getting Tedd to spend more time with her.

Colonel Sanders way of "guiding" Tara was malevolent, he was leading her on, making her think Andrea was in ......wait a moment....huh...OK even though Andrea technically wasn't in any real danger, the Colonel might have known that Helena and Demetrius have been following Elliot around, as well as having Andrea killing vampires, soo...his riddles might have been telling the truth in a roundabout way that made Tara believe the worst. Still the fact that the Colonel seemed to desire a violent confrontation between Elliot and Tara makes him malevolent. Helena and Demetrius however, their desire seems to be in protecting people, they don't remember why they're following Elliot but they're certain they're supposed to protect him from something or someone, they also don't remember exactly why they were in France when they encountered Nanase and Susan, they think they were following someone and there's no way to know for sure but I can't help but wonder if it was Nanase. I don't think she was dating Elliot at the time of her France trip but I would imagine they were still in martial arts together before they dated so there would be a link between Elliot and Nanase that Helena and Demetrius recognized, that's just my guess though. Anyway, regardless of their methods, they do seem to genuinely want to help. Heck with the way Arthur Arthur's got DGB going at the moment, I actually wouldn't blame Helena and Demetrius for not trusting him in helping deal with the vampires. That doesn't really explain why they don't just come out and say why they chose Nanase, or why they chose Andrea, but maybe it's their base nature to be vague but with good intentions. Even though Jerry is aware that Diane is Susan's sister, he also seems to have chosen to keep that info from Susan, or maybe his base nature at the moment doesn't think it's that important to tell anyone, he did seem to think his job was done until his knowledge of his previous life reminded him of the promise. It could be something that all immortals believe they shouldn't get too involved in the affairs of mortals, hence the "only guide and empower" deal, like "just give them enough to handle the current situation, but that's it". Helena's statement that the Colonel was "pushing 'only guide and empower' as far as it'll bend" could mean "you're just supposed to give them the info they ask for and leave them to decide what to do with it, not force them down a specific path". I'm hoping that if Elliot, Nanase and Andrea specifically ask for explanations from Helena and Demetrius, they might feel obligated to do so.

I could see that as well considering Noriko is a legendary monster hunter, she's likely killed a number of aberrations for them.

I guess I'll rephrase it then. We know that Mama Kitsune knows that Nanase has magic and has been using it to defend others. She may not know the details of what happened in France, nor the details of what happened New Years Eve. But considering she knows about Nanase's and Ellen's "Meddling Teenagers" adventures she probably expects them to be dealing with monsters and other magic users at some point. Heck the fact that she insists on Nanase calling Edward for help confirms that she expects it. As for Raven, Nanase mentioned that he was her mom's least favorite teacher, though I guess if her mom knew what Raven was (likely because of Edward and Noriko), then despite how she feels about him, she probably felt Nanase would benefit from him in some way. Anyone else wonder if Edward, Noriko and Mama Kitsune were to Raven as the main eight are to Edward? Ok yeah, re-read Susan's story and it does look like Nanase was able to go because of her skill in french, an exception was still made in her case. Yeah she didn't know about Grace until Nanase mentioned the double date and here immediate reaction was "she's not just toying with him, is she?" of course Nanase didn't need to do anything to help Tedd since him and Grace live together and know pretty much everything about each other, at least everything that they know that can be explained. Actually, I guess the only thing Tedd has hidden from Grace, is how him and Elliot met, though at the time she asked, they had pretty much just met and he wouldn't know how she'd reacted to him saying that Elliot thought he was a girl getting picked on in school.

I was thinking even before their improper deaths and the reasons they recruited Nanase and Susan in the first place, no one else capable of fighting vampires was willing to act fast enough so they went with the next best thing, a couple kids one of which had an extremely high magic potential due to her family lineage and the other with the innate ability to summon weapons that can harm aberrations.

The Chrono Trigger NP series had Tedd with short hair, and a flashback of him with the old style too. I said before that even if there's no Canon Cannon, if the characters involved stay "in character" then it could still work as canon-ish.

We don't know all of what Cranium told Mama Kitsune at the hospital after Abraham's attack though, she might (and I think likely) have left out the fact that Ellen is a magical duplicate of Nanase's ex boyfriend, although that is assuming Nanase told her mom about Elliot before they broke up.

I'm pretty sure she does, she knows that she awakened that day, and she knew the general description of Jerry from when Diane described the guy that stopped her from drinking the punch, and she'd have to know about his pledge to aid Susan and her friends because Diane being Susan's sister would fall under that pledge. I'm guess her reaction here is due to Nanase having the same feelings that Susan has about how Helena and Demetrius disappeared after the fight with the vampire in France. To her this would have been validation that the two have a history of running off without so much of a thank you or anything. I still want to believe that their behaviour has to do with their improper deaths though, at least in the case of Nanase and Susan. In the current situation though, maybe they're trying to cover so many bases with not only keeping an eye on Elliot, but trying to deal with vampires. This night could have been constant jumping back and forth between Elliot and Andrea. I wonder if maybe Helena and Demetrius are alone in the fight against aberrations at the moment, like they don't trust current government agencies to act fast enough and the other immortals insist on going through proper protocol for dealing with aberrations so these two have taken matters into their own hands. That doesn't really explain why they've been watching over Elliot though but it could mean that their hands are full trying to do several things at once. Also, this proves that Andrea wasn't actively hunting the spidervamp. Helena and Demetrius alerted her of his attack on Diane and Charlotte.

I probably goes without saying that Mama Kitsune would like to have grandchildren. But the whole thing about Nanase needing to keep up her studies and maintain her trilingualism only for her to be a homemaker? We know how much she knows about Nanase and her magic. She's gotta know she has the same potential that Noriko has and though she might have thrown her sister out of her family's life after what she left Edward and Tedd, Mama Kitsune probably still acknowledges that Nanase will some day following the path of the monster hunter. So all that studying she requires of Nanase is to make sure she can handle herself in other parts of the world. Getting Nanase on that France trip a couple years earlier than she should have might have been part of it too, seeing the world that is, I doubt she expected Nanase to run into a vampire that soon.

Either that, or it becomes ineffective to stay in a spot thats already peaked and they slow it more if they go to an area that hasn't peaked yet. but then you run into the problem of needing to cover larger areas as you move outward. I don't how many whales would be needed to do that. Either Pandora did it for Adrian, or she did it for Tedd, or maybe both since Adrian is Tedd's godfather

Nanase had stated that Adrian "Keeps telling Justin he has potential", even though that was likely before he was marked, Adrian probably still saw that Justin had some magic potential in him. The question is though, did he see that Justin had some innate ability, or just have what it takes to be given magic spells? One possibility is that the whales are on the outer edge of the concentrated ambient energy. That could be several miles away and way out of range of Tedd to be able to sense them. They said they could "only slow the contagion" so that would mean they'd be in a spot for as long as possible until the magic had peaked and then move outward. At the time of the whale's warning, the energy had peaked within a few square miles. Imagine how far it would have spread in the 6 months following.

Well, Justin's powers (the enhanced strength) are known by Edward, the fact that he got those powers from being marked wasn't known, neither is the fact that he's now awakened. everyone's just assumed he got the powers from Greg's martial arts training. As for Sarah, yeah no one else knows about that yet, considering she herself just found out, and will be getting a visit from Pandora in probably a matter of a couple hours to tell her about the spell and warn her to not tell Edward. I still think that warning was more because Edward would likely tell Sarah to not use the spell for cheating and sneaky stuff and that would ruin the whole "Don't be boring!" statement.

Justin does care, he just seems more like the "With great power comes great responsibility" type. So he wouldn't likely go around using his magic just for the sake of using magic. In an MMO setting, he'd be the one the sticks to the roads and only fights bandits that cross his path, while the others go out into the fields and grind.

Well yeah, but I imagine that even though she'll play super smash bros no problem, she'll avoid Mortal Kombat. The Fallout games (at least FO3, NV and FO4) are more graphic and also have questionable quest goals that make you go "I don't want to do this because these guys are bad news, but I can't progress unless I do" I guess she could be playing Borderlands though.

Well, it really depends on if Grace and/or Ellen have Adrian for any classes this year, I say and/or because it's possible that the provision for Grace and Ellen to have the same schedule only applied to the previous year so that Ellen could help Grace adjust to being in school, there's a good chance Grace doesn't need that anymore. Anyway Adrian interest in Ellen and Grace likely hasn't faded especially after learning about the nature of both of them, and yeah Grace being Tedd's girlfriend has influenced Adrian's involvement but I doubt he'd turn any of them away if they came to him with any questions about whats going on. Elliot does know about the whales and they're warning to Tedd, so maybe he'll mention it, but it doesn't really do much since what Andrea said is essentially the same info that the whales gave Tedd, heck what Andrea knows is more than what the whales told Tedd since the whales never mentioned another half of the world and the fact that Moperville was supposed to be a point where magic flowed to the other half. It just confirms that the main eight had a few pieces of the puzzle to which Andrea just added a few more.

Something else to note with this page, Andrea states that "for a long time, the flow of magic was simply slower", the whale told Tedd that "There is far more energy in this part of the world than there should be, there has been for much of your life". That's definitely connected, and I still think it's related to the last time Adrian saw Pandora 14 (going on 15 now) years ago. Back then, Pandora did something that restricted the flow of magic, letting some through but still allowed for elevated magic levels in Mopeville, the motives of which are still unknown, but after her promise to Adrian to "destroy the world" she's gone and completely blocked the flow.
