Also, you should be more careful about collateral damage. Does Fable II implement friendly fire?

I'm not sure, but it looks like for this instance the AOE starts at radius of a few feet and goes outward, so as long as Rhoda is inside the circle, she'd be fine.

Of course she's probably hearing Johnny Cash singing right now.

I also like how Diane thinks, but I suspect that Tedd doesn't want to be hugged by Diane (or Susan) ... and Grace would hug him no matter the size so it wouldn't help from scientific standpoint.

Tedd has been hugged by Susan before though, so I think it's unlikely that Susan wouldn't want to. Diane hugging Tedd would probably make Tedd continue to believe that Diane thinks she's always female.

And yes. Ellen totally looks like being angry at Diane. I'm glad that Dan explained what he meant with it.

Ellen's a troll (the actual funny kind, not the kind that wants to start flamewars on twitter), of course she'd do this.

Seems so. Of course, that note is suspicious, as she apparently DOES have some cousins.

    1 hour ago, hkmaly said:

Of course, her opinion of her mother (and her cousins) could've changed during time.

Susan wasn't in the mindset to think about family at the time, she also wasn't in the mood to talk to anyone. Later on she was in a happier mindset.

We also don't know how common occurrence stuff like the trip to France was ... I mean, it's possible her mother embarrassed her regularly, but it's also possible she embarrassed her less often than is usual for mother of teenager.

Susan's attempts to be self-sufficient (like caring about price of her SMS) might easily be because she blamed HERSELF for that embarrassment when her mother got her to that trip and not her mother.

It could be common enough that Susan developed the desire to get the things she wants herself, and while it may not have been her mother's intention at the time, Susan might have got the idea that the only person she can rely on is herself. When Susan asked about going to France, she might have been thinking "If mom says it'd be ok, I can start saving up for it now" but then her mom was like "No, you deserve to go now, I'll pay for the ticket"

One thing about video games is that things that are supposed to involve you won't happen until you get there

While most games wont have quest events happen until you get there, some at least try to simulate npc going about their business even if you're not around.

Fallout 4 is a big example in that you can be off clearing a factory and you'll get the message that a settlement is under attack, you can ignore it and maybe the npcs can defend themselves (if you took the time to give them defenses and weapons/armor) or you can try to go help them.

... I think that "spoiling" is giving the children everything they want. This is not spoiling, at least not typical one, given that Susan would totally prefer to go there later when she would actually be able to use the language ... and it's no wonder Susan became averse to THIS kind of attention. Like, her mother will give her everything except to actually try to understand her.

Well her mom might also wish for Susan to not experience betrayal again, which would fit with the comment about Susan becoming a lesbian. The other thing was that when asked by Ellen about whether she knew of any cousins that looked like her, Susan stated that the only family she cared about was her mother so maybe they're not all that distant from each other.

It was ijuin who came with the idea, but I find it plausible. Note that Susan may not realize it herself - I mean, not realize WHY it's so appealing to her.

Ahh, but now that I think about it, I don't think Susan's mom was the one that stopped, I mean, we have flashbacks where Susan's mom is trying her best to be there for Susan, maybe to the point where she might be seen as spoiling Susan, it's possible Susan became averse to that kind of attention.

I think Sarah having Tedd as friend and being transformed to catgirl who can only say "meow" totally counts. Or do you consider it not weird enough?

I think "The Incident" is included in the "Having Elliot and Tedd as friends" package.

  7. And apparently the door has flipped, the knob is now on the left side. Panel 1 also makes it look like it's a lot closer to the wall mirror, but panel 3 shows that there is still a gap between them.

Either it flipped on it's own, which should have been noticeable to everyone next to it, or one of them moved it for some reason.

Edit: Disregard the above, my perspective was messed up.

Hmmm ... Susan usually doesn't wan't any hugs, but she already hugged multiple people AND it's true that it must've been long time since she had opportunity to be hugged while resting her head on someone's breasts ...

The last time Susan hugged Sarah, Susan was the tall one, well, not much taller, but still. Sarah is someone Susan is probably more comfortable with hugging (as is Tedd, Nanase and Diane now), and there is some appeal to having someone bigger than you hugging back, like being wrapped in a warm blanket.

    7 hours ago, hkmaly said:

Hmmm ... she said she wants hug before and there seem to not be classical hug afterwards, but hard to say.

You're saying that Sarah's size is appealing to Susan for hugging because it would feel like hugging her mother when she was a kid?

EHmmm ... I wouldn't put too much into the form apparent age and rather state the question if this is form they were created / evolved with (optionally modified by aging) or if it's something they choose later as a conscious decision, likely after already seeing how humans look (again optionally modified by aging).

If Immortals have been around longer than humans, then they're original form would either be something completely different, or it just so happens that Humans developed to look similar enough.

Other possibility is that Humans are an offshoot of Immortals. Either they're the ones that didn't evolve  (Think Stargate with Ancients ascending, not all of them did) or Humans were created in the Immortals image (with different ears).

The idea of Immortals at one time being mortal is interesting and could be plausible too if one considers how Aberrations work and why Immortals loath them, like maybe aberrations came about as failed attempts to "ascend", Immortals are integrated in the Magic of the world and the energy sustains them, but aberrations failed to integrate and so requires the energy of other living things to survive.

Considering we only saw shapeshifting from OLD immortals, I would assume that their "natural" form is humanoid, no matter how weird it is. Or ... maybe some fairies long ago, before several resets, decided for this shape and somehow made sure it will be default after resets as well.

    Just now, Darth Fluffy said:

OK, I misspoke. She assumed a material humanoid form in the EGS universe capable of supporting reproduction with a human male. But, you are right, it wasn't exactly human.

While it could be the result of Pandora refreshing rather than resetting, the form we last see her in may be a clue as to an Immortal's natura form. We do know that Immortals have a "basic nature" that they reset to and then they can chose how they want to present themselves. The question is, is this base form something that Immortals designed for themselves when they first agreed to reset themselves every 200 years or so, or is it the actual form they had when they were 17-18 years old in their very first life, when they first came into being (either created, or before they evolved).

While it makes sense in context, it bugs me that Lucy's elf-ears came off. I can't help but think "they went through the trouble of getting and putting on elf-ears, and now the look is ruined!"

Rhoda's intentionally shrinking Lucy without shrinking Lucy's outfit, the elf-ears would be considered part of the outfit as they aren't attached in a way that would make the spell include them (like piercings).

I'm sure they got a photo before this one where everything is just right, though considering the description said they made several attempts to get the timing right, that would mean having to resize and redress Lucy multiple times.

... would that be "good" or "bad" kind of "taken her mind off that"?

Considering Dan was saying it like it was Ashley thinking it, good for her at least.

Still not sure how Diane would react.

Nanase and Susan are aware that there's been wardrobe malfunctions in the basement.

Tedd, Grace and Sarah would probably be like "One of us!"

Ellen would probably be like "Nice!"

Justin might just pick one of the other reactions to follow suit with.

    Elliot would probably still worry.

(BTW, I don't think her alternate is Lord Tedd's friend. I think she would still be around then. Also, I think Lord Tedd wouldn't became Lord Tedd if he wasn't critically short on friends.)

What if Diane's alternate is Nioi?

Nah probably not, that would require some convoluted stuff to explain the fact that she's a skunk girl and not the granddaughter of an Immortal.

  12. 32 minutes ago, hkmaly said:

... I don't think there is any risk of Ashley or Diane having wardrobe malfunction due to Sarah casting the spell on herself.

Not in this case. But Ashley could have shrunk without her clothes shrinking with her, though Dan mentioned on twitter that shrinking out of her clothes might have taken her mind off of how big everything was to her.

And while Diane does seem to prefer being the caster rather than being enchanted, she also seems the type that if there's going to be accidental nudity, then she'd rather there be booze involved in that the booze would make things less embarassing, but it does raise the risks of other things happening but Dan also said that Diane was likely to not think about the consequences of getting drunk.

And I would say that they should at least have discussed the procedure first, which I think is more or less Tedd's objection, too.

Even if there was no danger of property damage or physical harm to anyone, the possibility of something embarrassing happening is still enough for Tedd to want to be extra cautious, she hasn't known Ashley very long and hasn't been able to properly assess what her limits are and it hasn't helped that Ashley's been both enthusiastic and freaked out by the stuff that's happened so far.

And then Diane is a complete stranger to Tedd aside from knowing that she's somehow related to Susan, so far Diane's been friendly and enthusiastic but Tedd has no clue what a wardrobe malfunction might do.

I'm surprised that nobody mentioned anything about Grace being suddenly hungry and tired. I'm guessing that she burnt up a bunch of calories with all of her transformation/shrinking?

I did mention it on Discord, thought I did here too but guess not.

I think she's using calories as well, which is likely an indicator that the shrinking is actually using Magic energy instead of Uryuom energy cus she never mentioned ever being hungry from using her abilities before, and the only time we saw her with a "Nanase-sized" appetite seemed more like a one off gag cus Dan never linked it to Grace using her abilities at that time. Meanwhile, we've had not only Nanase just come right out and say she can burn calories to cast spells, but Elliot's also mentioned getting really hungry after healing from the bulldog dragon incident. Of course Nanase's case seems like a general "either/or" kind of thing where she can choose which type of energy she uses, and Elliot's case is more of a spell specifically requiring specific energy, which makes it seem more like a safety measure in case magic energy has been used up. Grace might fall somewhere in between, or, because she hasn't used magic before, doesn't have much magic energy reserves built up yet so ends up using caloric energy instead for abilities that don't use Uryuom Power.

The door knob won't typically make a "click" noise when bumped into.

Tell that to the door knobs I've bumped before, and I'm not talking about full body weight against it either, like a hand hitting it as a person walks by would be enough to make it shift a bit, it can also be the kind of knob you push in to lock and that makes a click, and can be done by accidentally brushing up against it.

Alas, welcome to the [transient] club, Sarah. Not much, but a dang milestone.

I'm pretty sure Sarah would have tried out being double size before, she was just hoping to be bigger than that this time around.

Fairies are not heart anymore than seen.

They might still be able to manipulate things while unseen, but then the question becomes why would they? Especially in this setting.

    1 hour ago, hkmaly said:

In addition to that, "click" would be weird sound for anyone to make. Unless it's some sort of robot.

The idea being that someone invisible bumped into the door knob as they were moving to get a better look at the spell being cast.

The second time around, if it wasn't the door knob, then the person who's invisible used something (that's also invisible) that made a click.

  17. 19 minutes ago, hkmaly said:

I think it's supposed to ... although the perspective seems weird.

Perspective wise, the door knob would be behind Tedd's head, so the click should be coming from around that spot, instead the click is down towards the floor which suggests the source of the click is not the door knob this time.

Maybe it is an invisible entity doing that, the question is who though?

I still say it's too early for Pandora to return, also pretty sure Voltaire has no reason to be there anymore either.

Zeus, Helena and Demetrius could still be hanging around, Zeus because of Jerry's vow to Susan and Nanase, Helena and Demetrius might still feel obligated to keep an eye on Elliot.

Another possibility would be that "Smoke" had followed Grace home at some point and is currently getting to see them cast spells while hidden, but then that would imply that "Smoke" can become completely invisible, not just the smoke form.
