When I had a temporary case of arthritis a few years ago I was unable to climb stairs. Made going to the clinic a literal pain.

Might be my OCDish brain, but I generally don't even register backgrounds unless attention is drawn to them.

Of course the set of war gaming rules I "cut my teeth on", Tractics, each turn is 15 minutes in time, but fire and movement is less than a minutes worth, assuming that your figures are doing a lot of taking cover and that sort of thing. A turn, with limited number of tanks, guns and infantry takes about 30-45 minutes to play out, total for both sides, assuming you have a referee for things like hidden movement and spotting. Each shot by an anti-tank system takes 3 rolls to see the effect. 1) to hit, 2) location of hit 3) damaged caused by hit. Depending on damage there may be a 4th or 5th roll, for effect on engine of the vehicle and moral of the occupants. It's quite complex. It really play out like a RPG with a very deadly combat results system, with the players taking the roll of a squad or platoon leader.

That's a good theory, I just have a little trouble with the idea that her bio mom stayed around her long enough to cast a powerful spell on her. I've assumed that she was adopted as an infant, based on her not knowing how ethnicity worked as a child, and not having any memories of her bio mom.

Even in societies that allow one man one vote systems, political offices tend to be held by people of means. That or the house is like the White House, and comes with the job.

Back when I lived in Oklahoma and had a car I played "Command Decision" which is a WWII miniatures game. They claimed that if the players were used to the rules, it ran in close to real time. Each turn was 15 minutes long and each figure represented a platoon. Normally a game lasted 10 turns or so.

That would work.

I take it that SWR is like most miniature games and takes at least 2 hours to play more likely 4 to 6 hours.

Problem with that theory is that if Diane was a wizard Tara would have noticed and said something other than "possible vampire hunter" when she was saying what their magical abilities were.

I suspect that her detect magic ability triggers when she is being targeted. I suspect that she will learn to use it more generally.

They really haven't. They used their magic in "Escape from the Mall". Granted they tried to be secretive about it but failed. Granted they haven't just told every body about their magic and Catalina is hiding her cat magic from Susan.

It is taking far too long for my web hosting company to install an SSL cert. I've paid for it, the payment has cleared and it's been "pending" for 2 and a half days now. I've already submitted a tech support ticket. Grr.
