Around the Fourth Crusade they finally got smart. After assembling at Constantinople they decided that it was way too far to march all the way to Jerusalem so they just sacked Constantinople instead. Lots of awesome loot right at hand, much shorter trip home.

Makes sense to me. It can't use its blazing sword right away. It first has to go Voltron, then spend some time building enough power to charge the Sword.

I don't know. I have heard of supposedly wealthy real estate dealers and reality TV hosts that would declare bankruptcy faced with expenses they actually had to pay. It's safer to have a doctor claim that there is something wrong with your feet. Unsliced bread. "They looked at us funny."

Voltron successfully battled lawyers? I may have to revise my estimation of Voltron upward. Way upward.

I also do not think these particular hunters were a good sample of our top intellects, either. Given that humans successfully exterminated many species of megafauna thousands of years ago armed with nothing more than primitive muscle-powered weaponry and numbers, I think these lions had better go Voltron before they try.

In that case, I'd think twice about trying that again. Awesome as it must have been back then, Uryuom or not, I think it would have a hard time keeping up with modern warfare.

The food chain isn't about individuals. Once prides of lions make significant inroad in the current human population on Earth and humans routinely yield place and move out of the way of lions wherever they go, then we can talk about it. Then again, maybe not. Watch this video, and at about 3.30 or not long after Martin Sheen makes his case for Scotty's viewpoint.

My cats used to get into kitty wrestling matches and would immediately curl up and go to sleep afterwards, but I don't think that counts.

There was this marvellous book full of small bloopers that schoolchildren had written in their essays. One I remember with fondness was: "1066: William the Conqueror conquers England with the Salvation Army." They just needed a taste of the power of the Salvation Army. Then they would know what it meant to be saved. So what is the fancy name for Last in Class? Maledictorian?

I am with you here. I remember this one time while playing on an original Neverwinter Nights roleplaying server that I was part of a desperate rescue action. While we were confronting a miniboss I suddenly leveled up in mid-fight when one of its minions went down. I had not paid attention to my XP counter due to the intensity of the situation so it came as a bit of a shock. O.O

I think it was more that they realised that with a bit of luck they could talk a lot of people into buying both an iPad and an iPhone at the same time. Even if the overlap was only like a third or so, what's not to love about getting paid twice? And then again there would also be the non-overlap, the part that might buy an iPad but not an iPhone, or the other way around.

And after a long time of getting smaller, this event strangely causes mobile phones to start getting bigger again. Can the day be far off where Apple will release an iPhone with a 54-inch screen?

I feel that it is worth mentioning that the current era Danish success with wind powered turbines is based on a study a Danish PhD student made of Middle Kingdom Egyptian mathematics and water mills. Three millenniums after their invention, these calculations still outperformed any mill design made until then.
