  1. Things That Are Just Annoying

We'll keep a microwave oven waiting for you when you get back.
  2. Things that make you MAD

And I find out about it while trying to order flowers for MY GRANDMOTHER'S FUNERAL, FOR CHRIST'S SAKE. I am losing my cool in the worst way possible. I posted this on Facebook. God, I know there are worse things happening just 300 miles southeast of me, but can you please back off for all of us for a while?
  3. Things that make you MAD

Will this ever end? I just tried to order a flower arrangement for my grandmother's funeral. My credit card got declined. Wound up having to use a different credit card. Called the credit card company and found out someone else (possibly plural) got their grubby mitts on my credit card number and started having a good ole' time with it as of August 30th. The credit card company didn't put a flag on it until today. So, I've got fraudulent charges on my card. The one that finally tagged it was a Six Flags charge attempt for $400+ bucks. I'm not going to get a replacement card until Wednesday, thanks to the holiday. I do not appreciate being taken advantage of. This chaps my ass.
  4. What Are You Watching?

Qualifying for the Italian Formula 1 Grand Prix of Monza. Conditions are full wet and horrible. One of the Haas drivers wrecked in the rain and brought Q1 to a halt with a red flag. They may not re-start qualifying for the race. I never realized that Monza was so close to Switzerland.
  5. Loudmouth's Journey Inside

We're going to have to do something, because he left us another #2 special overnight, just within the last two hours or so.
  6. What Are You Ingesting?

Come, come now. After you move, join the 20th century. We'll take up a collection and get you a decent, inexpensive Sharp microwave. They last for decades.
  7. Things that make you sad.

Thank you, everyone. Know that your caring will be reciprocated in spades should the time ever come. Mrs. Prof and I will spend some time this weekend picking out an appropriate floral arrangement to send to the funeral service. I'm no good at that. She's the one with taste and will guide our selection.

  9. Changing Medications (Level of Trust Required)

10:23 p.m. CDT 20170901. My psychiatrist finally called several hours ago. Fat lot of help he was. He wanted to put me back on older antidepressants which I switched away from because they no longer worked. He was also surprised at the amount of anti-anxiety medication that I was on, despite the fact that I've been on it for at least ten years. I asked him if there was any advice he could give me. He said I should try and find a support group. He referred to my problem as just an issue with losing "granny." I told him it was more than that—it was losing a very big chunk of my life. I then got very curt with him and ended the phone call. The only good thing to come from today is that Mrs. Prof brought home a chocolate shake, and even then I had to take a Zofran as a preventative measure. I'm still goofy from it, but I could give an [expletive deleted] at the moment.

  11. Things that make you sad.

Seeing my sister is not really a good idea, for reasons you don't want to hear.
  12. Things that make you sad.

Well, the nightmare is now eating its own tail. I just learned from my sister that my grandmother's funeral will be on September 6th at 2 pm. My next pain management appointment is September 6th at 1:30 pm. The doctor has no other available appointments until October. The only appointments available are the next day with a nurse practitioner, and since this is a procedure follow-up, I don't want to see him. I'm going to miss my grandmother's funeral.
  13. Changing Medications (Level of Trust Required)

You'd think they'd at least have the receptionists tell people if that were the case. Mine apparently did today, calling the situation "unacceptable."
  14. Story Friday September 1, 2017

    No, I don't think I'll ever get over being turbulent. {ba-dum-ching}
  15. NP Wednesday August 30th, 2017

I always subscribed to the Mystery Science Theater 3000 mantra on those: My favorite part of the transformations (after the animations) was the music. It always had a 1980s American Game Show feel to it. "Sailor Jupiter, Come on down! You're the next contestant on, 'The Senshi is Right!'"
  16. Story Friday September 1, 2017

I think my theory of FV5!Tedd looking (and acting) like Noriko (and how it affects Edward) is about to be moved one step closer to resolution.
  17. Loudmouth's Journey Inside

Loudmouth has taken the pee problem a step further. Or, should I say #2 steps further? Yep. Right in the bathtub, where the PeeDar showed he'd been using it as a urinal. Mrs. Prof has a rude awakening waiting for her.
  18. Loudmouth's Journey Inside

I think we've solved the mystery of where Loudmouth has been peeing. He's been going in the front bathroom's bathtub. I'll get Mrs. Prof to provide photos when possible, but she's too busy tonight and will be doing cat volunteer stuff from 6am to 9pm tomorrow in preparation for a brand-new set of stainless steel kennels that have been donated to the Garland pet adoption center. No Loudmouth on the sofa today. Darn. I don't think he was feeling 100%. He didn't want to come out of his cubicle until way late in the afternoon.
  19. Changing Medications (Level of Trust Required)

10:16 p.m. CDT 20170831. Had a rather nasty event happen a little under two hours ago. I felt like I was trying to crawl out of my skin, and it wasn't even close to hydrocodone dosage time. Mrs. Prof told me to take my other pills, including the new 15mg Abilify dose. It helped. No idea why the attack was triggered. I took my hydrocodone about 15 minutes early (BTW, my PCP reinforced Baylor Scott & White's orders to take all 60mg of my prescribed dose). I'm still having the same pains and waiting for my Sept. 6th appointment with the pain specialist. Still didn't hear from my psychiatrist today. For his sake, I hope he's stuck in Houston. I'm not a camper of the happy type.
  20. Changing Medications (Level of Trust Required)

Cool. I was never able to master the flute beyond method class in college. At least I figured out where it's supposed to go in the orchestra. More details here.
  21. Changing Medications (Level of Trust Required)

12:33 p.m. CDT 20170831. At least my toe isn't broken. That's the good part of my doctor visit today. Just a painful sprain. No big deal there. As for the lesion on my ear, he's referred me to a person he claims is a good dermatologist (I begged him not to get me into another Spine Team Texas situation). He'll do a biopsy and, if necessary, perform something called Mohs surgery to remove the lesion. All I know is that the damned thing hurts and I want it off. My primary doctor also upped my dose of Abilify to 15mg from 10mg. It's waiting at the pharmacy for me. I'm waiting for my damned psychiatrist to call me back. I've been trying to reach him for three days now, and I haven't heard a word from him. This patient's patience wears thin.
  22. Changing Medications (Level of Trust Required)

Bass clarinet in junior high school. It would have been tenor sax if the dumb arse director knew how to recognize that the low key pad was bent on the horn. Anyway, 3 years of bass clarinet, then bassoon and percussion in high school, then things kind of exploded from there in college, drum corps, and afterward.
  23. NP Wednesday August 30th, 2017

Yes, and yes. Danger? That comes elsewhere and is young cartoonish. That's coming from one of the biggest Sailor Moon freaks in Texas.
  24. (+/-Bad) Jokes Thread

    Necrojoking?
  25. Changing Medications (Level of Trust Required)

Like I said—it's as embarrassing as hell. Now Mrs. Prof wants me to use my cane all the time, inside and outside the house.
