Okay, that's it! One more treble pun like that and you're barred from the thread! The staff will see you out. *makes a note on /me's list*

I have not yet gotten a keyboard for my new iPad, although I'm considering it. I've made almost every post here using the on-screen keyboard on my old iPad. Guess I'm used to it.

Things That Are Just Annoying
CritterKeeper replied to CritterKeeper's topic in Off Topic Discussion
I've been registered for a veterinary conference in Orlando since around November. My sister and I were looking at the Universal Studios web site at Christmas. I've been scheduled for ages now to be off the weekend of the conference, through the weekend after, so that I can have a little vacation time after the conference. Plane tickets bought, hotel booked, time off scheduled on the appointment calendar at work. So why, oh why am I only finding out *now* that there's a big Harry Potter event at Universal on the weekend *before* the convention??? If I'd known even a week or two ago, I might have been able to switch my time off to be able to go early instead of stay late. Hmm, well, no, that wouldn't work out as well, I'd have to take a longer time off and use up more vacation days. But why, oh why couldn't they have scheduled the darn Harry Potter event a couple of weeks later???- 1,912 replies

I suppose if it's a particularly cold October they could have mittens to lose. I bet Kitty's have paw prints on the gripping side. :-)

My new iPad arrived today! I haven't turned it on yet, I want to back up this one one last time, that way I can make sure I can transfer everything successfully. It will be nice to have four speakers and a working volume button, not to mention an un-cracked screen. :-D

Trump says no one cares about his tax returns except reporters. Ethics experts are already saying his plan for his businesses doesn't go nearly far enough to prevent conflict of interest shenanigans. He refused to take a question from a CNN reporter because he claims their entire organization is "fake news." I think that's the highlights. -
Magus makes an interesting point, that by bringing the Aberrations to Moperville, he's making it likely that they will be killed/stopped sooner than if they didn't come. Overall, lives will be saved by his plan. Seems like a good rationalization, yet he still takes on the responsibility for harm they do while in Moperville. Yup, he's a Good Guy[TM].

Hey, careful what imply about our esteemed waitstaff, there!

*Wanders onto the field with bright yellow raincoat and galloshes, a transparent dome umbrella protecting from raining sauces, sushi, etc.* Oh, my, what a waste of....well, I was going to say "good food" but it looks like it's just sushi. Still.... *spins umbrella, and 95% of the sushi disappears, carefully leaving all dirt behind and destroying all germs and parasites, before reappearing in the refrigerators of several area food pantries* *spins umbrella the other way, and most of the remaining sushi, similarly cleaned off, appears on a gorgeous dim sum bar, floating by the stools in little wooden boats* And for those of us who don't like raw fish.... *clicks fingers and a mongolian stir-fry station appears, with dozens of optins for ingredients and at least thirty sauces* There's recipe cards at the end of the vegetable section, for those of you who don't like to improvise! (Imagine that, not taking advantage of a chance to experiment. Still, I'm told such people exist.) There's a patch over there *points with now-closed umbrella* where the sushi rain continues, for those of you who enjoy such things more than a good meal or a good battle. What? Oh, yes, about every twentieth dim sum boat has been boarded by pirates, so anyone who wants to shrink down and defend their sushi should feel free. The mer-folk will rescue anyone thrown overboard. And a few of the ingredient options for the stir-fry can get a little, ah, feisty.

Strong wind today. I can hear it blowing outside. A pity, too because it's both my day off and a lot warmer than it's been or will be for several days. ah, well, perhaps I'll get up the energy to do some cleaning and laundry?

A whole package of grass-fed beef from Trader Joe's. It's doubtless meant to be two meals, not one, but it's so much yummier fresh and hot than it would be as leftovers....

But don't tip them too far or your drinks will spill!

Plumbing, "those" parts, genital conformation, plug vs socket....or, if you want names for specific parts, for the lady parts there's an extensive list in The Vagina Monologues, and for the boy parts you can strut, swagger, or moonwalk your way over to Sailor Jim's notorious essay.

Trouble is, the Emissary of the Will of Magic said he only knows all that stuff when he casts the spell to get into Grace's dreams. If Pandora is right that the goal of that spell was to get her attention, then that goal has been achieved and the unknown spellcaster likely isn't casting that spell any more. If she does find his physical body, she's going to have to introduce herself and try to convince him to cast the spell again, then get to Grace and enter her dreams to converse with Will's Emissary. If the spellcaster is a completely new character, this might be relatively simple. If the Emissary is an alter-ego of someone we know under a different name and appearance, then it could be anywhere from awkward to impossible. Still, it might be her best bet.

I find the image of cat tails or ears falling off and ending up lying around, discarded and forgotten, to be a very sad one. Only thing sadder would be someone who wished the enchantment hadn't ended picking up their now-inert tail and pinning it to their clothing, where it would just hang limply....

Unfortunately, I think the sort of people who promote these laws would see Trans-folk getting harrassed as a result to be a plus, not a minus. -
Of course! Standard currency for the Forums. Whoever starts up a new betting thread gets to decide how many everyone starts with and whether there's any sort of periodic income to help people who go bust get back in the game. :-)

I'm tempted to organize a campaign by women with Poly-Cystic Ovarian Syndrome, which tends to cause excessive facial hair in women, to stop shaving/plucking/lasering and start teaming up with trans women to provide some cover (and possibly a few lawsuits if self-appointed bathroom police hassle the"men using the ladies' room"). The ADA would likely come into play pretty fast if women with a verifiable medical condition were being denied free access to the women's bathroom because of their condition. -
I finally decided What the hell? and ordered an iPad Pro WiFi from the Apple site, since I couldn't find one of the sort I wanted for sale around here. I look forward to having a fully functioning tablet for the first time in far, far too long. There's no good reason why I didn't do this sooner, just my usual inertia. Next on the list, replacing my cell that loses the signal if it gets warm, as in, held in my hand for more than a few minutes. (Bets on how long that will take are welcome as long as I get ten percent....)

Changing Medications (Level of Trust Required)

Wait, dental?? Is this person an MD/DDS? -
Yes, and Tedd thinks he'd be able to make a wand that can permanently change someone else's default sex. Magus would not necessarily have to go back to his home universe in a female body. I do still think in the end, Magus will prove to be a good guy, and the gang will actively help him get back home.

Feliscia Catherine Chase, perhaps?

Yeah, I suspect if there's a Will Of Magic, then Will's personality won't change so much as to change that. (Hmm, did I just give Magic a name? I guess "Will" isn't a bad one.... ;-) ) Greg had enough ASMA students to keep his dojo open for quite a while, but it seems only Elliot, Nanase, and Justin actually gained magic from it. It came easily for Greg, Elliot, and Nanase, more slowly for Justin. So far as I can tell, "everyone else" was like Eric, not getting anything out of it, and sooner or later quit coming. That doesn't seem very reliable to me. Greg quit teaching it because there was a chance another student could gain magic and turn out to be more supervillain than superhero. Also, note that none of them Awakened without outside influence, either an Immortal or the Diamond. Well, okay, we don't know for sure whether Greg has Awakened, but neither does Dan, yet.... I dunno, Will has some sort of purpose for Tedd, I could see it being a new Age Of the Technomage, where magitech is even moreimportant to gaining your own power, or possibly all magic working through magitech and people varying in how easily they can create and use it. Doesn't mean he couldn't also have a sister. There's been plenty of time for more than one sibling, even without Uryuom eggs and such. Good thought! But there is an awful lot going on to throw in Noriko showing up as well....not impossible, but I'm skeptical.

It's strictly to tick off Pandora, who will discover she can give Kitty a transformation spell, but will decline to do so.

I think I'd reverse those percentages on Michelangelo. He's one of the best-known artists and creators in history, period, let alone of that era. Raphael is probably more turtle than Renaissance man at this point, though. ETA typo fix
