      Welcome!   03/05/2016

Welcome, everyone, to the new 910CMX Community Forums. I'm still working on getting them running, so things may change.  If you're a 910 Comic creator and need your forum recreated, let me know and I'll get on it right away.  I'll do my best to make this new place as fun as the last one!

  1. This seems like the kind of thread that the forum should have, I don’t know if the old one did. The 8 "main" characters of EGS present a quite remarkable variety of character traits, although some of them are admittedly more fleshed out than others. Sarah, for example, seems until quite recently to have served as either the Only Sane Woman, a plot device, or the cuteness factor when Grace isn't available or enough. Justin hasn't precisely had his big moment yet, either, IMO. Still, none of them really seem to blend together, so it's probably quite easy to identify a favourite. For me, it's very hard to beat Susan. I like pretty much everything about her, from her backstory and as-of-yet mysterious connection to Diane, to her cynical sense of humour with the sweet Nature underneath. She's arguably got the deepest personal issues of any main character, with the possible exception of Tedd, and it's extremely satisfying to see her overcome them. In fact, I can't recall any comic in which she actively participates as being boring. It's a shame it's been a few years since the main storyline concentrated on her. Very interested in hearing others' opinions! The more thorough your elaboration, the better.
  2. What's in the Lost and Found?

    The James Webb Space Telescope.

  4. Story Monday March 21, 2016

So, any speculation on all the plot threads that Dan says he is pulling, including the supposedly invisible ones? When the topic of discussion shifts to vampire and monster hunters, you can't not think of Noriko. But I doubt the griffins know anything about her specifically.
  5. The Association Game

    The Game.
  6. The Association Game

Conjured fairy dolls turning cranks: an infinite source of free calories/joules/whatever.

Without any explanation, it's very random even for EGS. If one excludes fantasy sequences and non-canon cutaway gags, there really aren't any notable non sequiturs in the comic. But I haven't read all of it even twice yet, I may be completely wrong. And the pony panel certainly doesn't help my case.

It isn't completely impossible for the script to have changed. The commentary you linked to almost seems to treat Tedd as a means of establishing the temporal location of this story relative to the tournament. But today's final panel strongly suggests Christmas/December anyway. I guess we'll find what/who they are looking at on Friday.
  9. Poll: Your Favourite Main Character

Done. No preference at all? Or just impossible to decide between two?
  10. Poll: Your Favourite Main Character

Whoa, you took the prompt for elaboration quite seriously! Thank you, we got a pretty good overview of most unresolved plotlines related to the 8 in the process. I really have no idea why I wrote the name like that. Fixed it. Yeah, he's pretty hard to dislike. For the most part, he's the relatable everyman, although he is occasionally a little bland if you don't consider his powers. But why would one do that?
  11. Same for the main comic, really. The past few storylines seem to have been long even by EGS standards. So a Date at the Mall has lasted for over a year (and by the looks of it might well last for another month or two depending on how the discussion with the griffins goes), and Squirrel Prophet also took a year.
  12. The Association Game

    The Nice List for Jerry!
  13. Check in here -- Welcome back!

Hi there! I only discovered EGS a few weeks ago, so I never got the opportunity to post on the old forum. The initial archive binge over a few days (and nights) was probably the longest and most intense one I have ever embarked on, and I somewhat regret the haste now, when I have to join all the old fans in their patient waiting... But seeing the amazing art evolution and all the links between storylines in such a compressed form was still very enjoyable. Certainly one of the best webcomics I've ever read.
