  1. More Speculation.

I honestly hope there isn't a Sister 4. It really seems like Dan's trying to wrap up long standing plotlines like the energy clog and Magus deal. At the very least I can accept Sister 3 being a shift in focus and if there's a Sister 4, it'd be more about Susan and Diane rather than Elliot an Ellen especially since I don't think we'll learn the truth about Susan and Diane in this arc. But that's probably just me speculating. I think she started destroying her image when she confessed to Sarah that she was responsible for the clog, needed help to fix it, and vowed to help Sarah with Magic regardless of the outcome. Adrian's question about what would Blaike think of her now was a real kick in the pants (figuratively) for Pandora, I really think she's going to be careful about what she does...with the exception of how she deals with SIrleck and Voltaire, but I do think Magus will reach a point where he just can't let SIrleck continue with this plan and try to stop him, It's apparent that Magus doesn't know that Sirleck was misinformed about Adrian and that he's targeted Adrian for the vampires, Magus knows Adrian is Pandora's son and I don't think he'd let Sirleck go through with it because of the backlash he'd get from Pandora. Sure Pandora was wrong with how she treated Magus when he refused to make Edward kill Abraham, and it's apparently clouded his judgment, but even he must have some idea of the kind of backlash he'd receive from her if she found he was responsible for Adrian being harmed, he can't be that desperate to allow Sirleck to go through with a plan like that if he knew. While Sister 3 has the most parts out of every other multi-part arc. It's still far from being the longest arc, Sister 3 has only been going for 9 months now, Sister 2 went 21 months and is I think the current record holder.
  2. Theoretical next set of pinups

Ah, I thought you meant canon examples, I've been thinking too much about what's canon or not that it spilled over into a topic about things likely to not be canon.
  3. NP: Wednesday April 12, 2017

Yeah, but Dan's really flip-flopped on what games are real and what are parodies. He's got Legend of Celida and Smash Goons and what could probably be a parody of any of the Mario Bros games (though considering the other princesses they talk about are from real films I'm leaning towards Grace actually play a Mario game), but he's got Black and White, Pokemon, Fallout and Skyrim being in the EGS canon which actually could make Rad Squirrel and that 2 page Skyrim bit canon as we know Grace is capable of being very agressive when playing video games,(as well as the above link to the Hammerchlorian's example), her snapping and killing all the Legion guys wouldn't be out of character for her. I still think it's possible that Legend of Zelda exists alongside Legend of Celida as clones of popular games exists in reality, I'm pretty certain I've said this before, but The Great Gianna Sisters originally existed as a cheap knockoff of the Super Mario Brothers back in the 1980's and was even shut down by Nintendo for copyright infringment, but now it exists as it's own unique platformer game on Steam/console. Legend of Celida could have come about in a similar way in the EGS universe. ::shrugs:: I think she would be asking Tedd for assistance with undressing, but not when changing dresses on time I think Tedd and Grace's relationship is such that I think it's more likely that Tedd asks Grace for wardrobe advise. And it's canon that Grace has helped Tedd undress. Though it's probably just as likely they help each other fairly often when playing with transformations. Both, we are talking about change blindness in general after all.
  4. Theoretical next set of pinups

Yeah, it's the most recent poll winners. I'm guessing the theoretical part is an attempt to not overhype them in case they don't turn out as expected? Yes. We do? Edit: for the second link, it's got the "?" because I'm not sure if it counts. I mean, Grace is wearing sweatpants, but she's still topless and still looks like Sarah, sooo... ? And then you triggered my notifications by quoting me quoting mlooney.
  5. Story Wednesday April 12, 2017

We know Adrian is a 15 minute walk from Tedd's, don't know which direction it is in relation to the mall though, walking 15 minutes could take you a mile maybe, depending on how fast you walk (average walking speed being 3.1mph, Nanase could probably jog it in 5-10 minutes). Considering we've seen none of the characters walk to the mall, it's probably more than a couple miles, might be a 15-20 minute drive.
  6. Things You Find Amusing

It's only the real thing if it's got real sugar in it.
  7. Things That Are Just Annoying

I imagine you had very good training on situational awareness in the military, needing to know where any sound is coming from seems like an important skill to have.
  8. Theoretical next set of pinups

Personally I was hoping for seeing f!CatElliot instead of Tea!Diane, I'm rather tea'd out now.
  9. General Note on NP strips

I'm thinking his reasoning for doing so is that he's going to be pushing the limits of what can be consider SFW in this set. Wednesday's comic with Grace being in a state of dressing herself might be consider as such. There might be other instances where she (or maybe an extra or two) might end up showing more skin, or otherwise looking subjectively sexy. Dan's made HD versions of comics from "Escape from the Mall" that fit that theme so one can assume that it's why Dan's planning on doing the same with the comics from "Fun at Work". Also I wouldn't mind seeing these coloured at some point as well.
  10. Story Wednesday April 12, 2017

While I do agree that Dan seems to be leading the story to having crap hit the fan at the Mall, there is one thing that might not make it so. The the fact that Sirleck is targeting the big vampire attack on Adrian Raven. Of course the big question is why would Adrian be at the mall? Maybe Noah's with him buying something, maybe someone (or something) lures him out there, I dunno, it's not really clear at the moment, but as Dan said "It's Wednesday morning".
  11. NP Monday April 10, 2017

The more I look at the first panel with Susan and Sarah, I can't help but think Susan is shorter. She's supposed to be 5'8" tall, but if she still is then that must make Sarah's beefy male form around 6'6"-6'8" tall. For reference Elliot ended up being 6'3" when he transformed before doing their first review video. Sarah has to either be at least another 5 inches taller than f!Elliot was or Susan is several inches shorter than normal.
  12. NP: Wednesday April 12, 2017

As long as they're not Mopervillains. We don't need them learning Grace's secret techniques and using them against her.
  13. NP: Wednesday April 12, 2017

In the commentary for the MV5 page I linked, Dan referenced the Gaming Webcomic page with the line "Ellen presumably suggested ice cream as an alternative after panel two". Just re-read all the commentary and he doesn't mention anything about continuity. It's definitely one of those "may or may not be canon" sets but Dan certainly seems to have written it in a way that makes it appear canon and then referencing a scene from it in a 100% confirmed canon NP raises the possibility as well. Certainly not every comic in the Gaming Webcomic set could be taken as canon. Grace talking about being able to look up in games could be less canon and more Dan making an observation through Grace. Grace playing Skyrim might be as well. But the scene of Grace watching the let's play with Ellen sleeping on the couch is definitely a continuation of the first comic of the set despite being released after the Chrono Trigger portion. I thought that as well, but the more I looked at it, the more I wondered if it wasn't just Grace's hair and her posture being different that gives the illusion of it. In the first panel Grace's legs are spread apart a bit and she may or may not have her knees bent a bit too, in the last panel, her legs are together and she seems to be standing straighter, that could make her seem slightly taller.
  14. NP: Wednesday April 12, 2017

The MV5 and Sister 3 examples I gave has the couch very much in focus with the people siting on it. There is also the "Gaming Webcomic" NP series that includes Grace playing Chrono Trigger and has a short haired Tedd, while there is a question of whether this series fits into continuity, MV5 suggests that it might (panel 2 possibly having happened before Grace learned of her favorite let'splayers playing A Link to the Past), but for it to work, the Chrono Trigger portion would have to set in the future (upcoming spring/summer) while the other gaming comics before and after are from the previous summer or else there's some weird paradox. Most simple explanation though is the couch pattern was a casualty of Dan simplifying his drawing style partway through "So a Date at the Mall", where he stopped putting lines in hair and such.
  15. NP: Wednesday April 12, 2017

As does the couch. Actually, the couch did change. but not in relation to this NP story. In 'Identity" the couch has a pattern in it, which is what it's been throughout the main story and even Playing with Doll the couch has a pattern and that's very recent in the timeline, but the day after Playing with Dolls, the couch no longer has a pattern on it. In MV5, the couch also didn't have a pattern, and it's supposed to take place before the card tournament, but still fairly recently in the timeline. So as far as the timeline goes, that couch has shifted appearances several times.
  16. Things You Find Amusing

Someone at the Bank of Canada has a geeky sense of humor. For Canada's 150th birthday they rolled out a new $10 bill design, but is someone was to use the Konami Code using the arrow keys (and B A) then the site will start playing an 8 bit version of our national anthem while smaller $10 bills float down from the top of the page.
  17. NP: Wednesday April 12, 2017

    ...WOW... Dan's good......
  18. Story Wednesday April 12, 2017

I'm beginning to think that Tedd's "Dangerous Rarity" has more to do with what his second purpose as a seer is. The first purpose and the missed ability that Heka is fine with telling Pandora about must be pretty tame compared what the second purpose is supposed be. It's like what Tedd's doing now with his known ability is fine, no harm being done, if he happens to learn of his other ability it shouldn't be a big deal. But if he happens to get into a situation that triggers his second purpose and he's not in the right frame of mind? Things could go very badly, and that's what would make it dangerous.
  19. The NP section update

I tweeted back at Dan that he should has just done it an not mentioned it until after the change blindness story is done, it was the perfect opportunity to do so and see if anyone noticed.
  20. Story Wednesday April 12, 2017

As I said in the previous thread, Dan's said that Pandora is the least likely to be chaotic, Voltaire on the other hand, "Plan CM" seems to be on track for creating lots of chaos. While his goals don't make him personally seem chaotic, I do wonder what he'd be like if he succeeds. He complained that Immortals had restricted themselves into impotence, and today's comic not only shows that Voltaire planning is kinda chaotic and even Immortal hindsight isn't 20/20, but what he's set in motion seems to be done with the hopes that it would force Immortals to drop Immortal law and break the restrictions, allowing Voltaire to mess with mortals in ways he couldn't do before.
  21. Story Monday April 10, 2017

Dan's even said in commentary that Pandora is the least likely character in EGS to do anything truly chaotic and that you wouldn't want to play a game of chess with her. She wanted to be surprised with the outcomes of things she did but there was a linear reason for her doing them and as I've said before, it's apparent that the things she's done was never with the intent on harming anyone, aside from killing Abraham, although letting her son fight him was bad too, but she's since realized that it was a wrong thing to have done.

Although the NP for April 3 still has 2017-03-03 when you hover over it
  23. More Speculation.

Magus is most certainly involved in Sister 3, and judging by his dialog, he's regretting his partnership with Sirleck, well he never liked having to ask Sirleck for help anyway, but he certainly has to be thinking "what am I doing with this thing!?!". Yeah, Sirleck says it's Magus' plan, but I'm thinking Magus didn't expect Sirleck to go to this extreme. Something tells me that Magus may do something to try to make things right again even if it means possibly not being able to get his physical body back, but I still think things will work out for him. Yeah but none of us knows much about them before their reset beyond the fact that they gave Nanase and Susan magic, and that was it, it'd be nice to know more about that and how Magus knew. Then again, Pandora could have easily just told him; "Fair warning, Elliot's guarded by two other Immortals, they shouldn't be too difficult to deal with though since they were recently forced to reset and should be very disoriented". She could just apologize for giving him the runaround? And she probably has the ability to make it easy for him to get a physical body without making anyone jump through hoops. The other thing I'm thinking, is with everything Pandora had gone through in this arc and what she's doing, it seems possible that by the end of Sister 3, Pandora may reset, either by her own choice, or forced to reset by the other Immortals. It would be fitting if she fixed as many of the things she's done first.
  24. Story Monday April 10, 2017

I suspect that if Heka went through with manipulating Pandora, and she discovered the deception, she wouldn't be able to kill Heka, but she could easily still be a thorn in his side while at the same time just being out of reach of any retailiation. Immortal law does seem to prevent Pandora from outright killing Heka, but Heka seemed confident that she would die by his will as well if she attempted to force her way past him so he's probably strong enough to do so, but then Tara was prepared to fight Voltaire and Edward said that odds were in favour of Wolf, Cranium, himself or any skilled magic user winning if an Immortal played fair or didn't have the safety of multiple planes of reality to retreat to. So it's possible that Heka doesn't have any advantage that negates Pandora from doing things to him from outside the physical plane. I will concede that it's not clear whether Heka can also travel to other planes of reality, but even if he can, I would expect Yakety Sax to be playing as he attempted to find Pandora.
  25. More Speculation.

Immortals are known for meddling with the affairs of mortals for their own enjoyment, Magus must have known that Pandora would not directly tell him what to do even though it frustrated him greatly that she wouldn't. He was certain Helena and Demetrius wouldn't help him but we don't exactly know why he believes that, there might have been a misunderstanding somewhere, maybe their vow to protect Elliot made them consider Magus a threat to that vow regardless of the fact that the plan to get his physical form back was safe. Magus didn't even attempt to find any other Immortal because he didn't trust any of them to not give him the same treatment Pandora did, which is probably good because I can only imagine what could have happened if the next Immortal he asked for help turned out to be Voltaire. Pandora seems very much focused on making things right again, removing the energy clog, vowing to help Sarah get magic regardless of whether magic changes or not, realizing that what she'd been doing for the past year at least has been doing more harm than good, and finding out what Tedd is. Yeah Magus has reason to be upset, but Pandora has plenty of reason to not jerk him around anymore, the longer Magus is stuck in the Immortal realm, the more desperate he'll become, and the more dangerous his attempts could get as evidenced by his dark allegiance with Sirleck. Pandora would have to be aware of that if not now then soon when crap hits the fan, she'll have to realize "I gave Magus the idea for getting his body back, I introduced him to Sirleck, I put Tedd's friends in danger."
