For all we know, Dragons might have the ability to enter the immaterial plane and that was where the scene took place. They might still be around, only extremely leery of showing themselves due to the possibility of an encounter with a rocket launcher or a Gatling anti-aircraft gun... Hmmm, also possible. Or, Dragons might have ability to travel between universes and simply left. Or maybe they all moved to the other half of Earth - actually, that's the most likely explanation. The ones who agreed to follow rules found asylum on other half of Earth and the ones who didn't were killed. I just explained dragons are unlikely to fear gatling gun. But yes, any dragon entering physical plane would be likely tracked by radar and after not responding on radio (well ... assuming they can't respond) fighters will be send to intercept them and shot them down with air-to-air missiles. Unless they would fly close to terrain, but in such case they would be even more likely to noticed by people. (In fact, it IS possible that one or several incidents of dragons being shoot down by military happened in EGS main universe and DGB kept them secret.)

We know that Dragons once existed in the main universe, one is seen flying by Pandora when she was 150 years old, so the question is, what happened to them if the new magic system was being kept secret? Noriko's ancestors, maybe. We know Dragons existed in main universe, but Magus world might have more of them or they are stronger/more powerful, so it wasn't possible to make them extinct secretly.
  3. Story Monday 4-23-2018

I though Andrea is too busy doing research. I though the reason why it's rude to refer to intelligent life forms as "things" is because they are supposed to have soul. If you believe in that. Or, in terms you are used to, Ren, Ba, Ka, Sheut and Ib (, , , can't find the remaining two). If it's not soul, they at least have some emergent property not present in any parts they consist of.

Kind of like a CEO who majored in marketing. To be fair, that CEO is probably capable of vast adaptability on topic of what to have for lunch or where to go for vacation. I'm also sure he is able to fill the bathtub correctly even without explicit instructions. He just doesn't show that as part of his job. Re-read the description of what was will of magic doing. To quote: Keep certain forms of magic from being possible. Those "systems of magic" WERE consisting of some kinds of magic being blocked. Most likely, dragons in magus universe fly high and fast and are armored and possibly have magic defense. Anti-aircraft artillery already misses very often, with first world war airplanes - which were still using lot of linen in construction - routinely evading it. The battlemages likely have homing fireballs or something at least as effective as guided missiles. Of course, guided missiles need much more than just gunpowder - those needs computers and radar and/or infra. Conclusion: Magus universe can easily have guns, but not missiles. Yes.
  5. Story Monday 4-23-2018

Technically she kicked the soccer ball at the griffin, but yes. Also, griffins are not things.
  6. Main Wed April 25 2018

Yes and no. Yes, she could deduce a lot of it on her own. But not all of it, and some of it -- specifically that all sorts of magical devices are coming to life, old and new -- may well be important for her to know in maybe only minutes from now. The distinction might not seem to matter but to Magus at least it could be an indication that big trouble is on its way. I don't think it will be useful to Magus either. Like, maybe later, when they would have time to ask for some details or maybe talk about it with Edward and/or Adrian ... but in current situation the "Leaving time is now" is the part Ashley needs to pay attention to. Worse. It may actually go by fixed program with no adaptability, much less ability to learn. The kind of programming which would make golem continue to add water to bathtub even if it's already overflowing.
  7. Main Wed April 25 2018

Technically, yes, but I don't think Dan would use this excuse. ... to us. Not that useful to Ashley, especially in her current situation. The previous systems are not completely independent and wandmaker is type of wizard who can use spell by imprinting them to wands. Apparently it IS possible for current wandmaker to put non-working spell into wand in way the wand starts working when the spell starts working. Also, it's possible Kevin is using mix of previous system magic and new system magic. Yes. Again, ability to view auras may not be limited to system, but auras from older system would be unrecognizable. Old magic artifact still giving auras could actually help attract thieves to the facility, although it's possible they only started giving auras after reset. (Magus's comment can be taken either way, it's not like he saw the place before) Well Ashley DID thrown Kevin on him ... but yes, I think her action wasn't as threatening as the magpie's, and also it's possible the golem would give more chances to human than to artifact obviously too stupid to negotiate with.
  8. Main Wed April 25 2018

However, the ones from current system are unlikely to cause troubles. As shown on the magpie, which definitely was not causing any trouble to the golem, being easily crunchable. And if the magpie wouldn't be so stupid, it would already notice LAST PAGE that the golem is too big to fit inside her AND too heavy to carry. As I noted on last page comments. Apparently. The creator likely had no idea that they are blocked by Will of Magic ... ... ... ... vast wisdom. Right. Not sure why Jarvis, but note that it was the golem which weight was commented on. EDIT: Wait, did Dan said hundreds? It's not thousands? YAY new info!
  9. Story Monday 4-23-2018

And cats looks cute and elegant and beautiful ... even the big ones which can and will eat you. And bright color in nature usually indicate poison.
  10. Story Monday 4-23-2018

Ashley threw Kevin at the golem while yelling "Get away from her!". Voltaire thought it was stupid for Ashley to try to save Elliot, but Ashley did save Elliot and she might have just saved Ellen because the golem was distracted long enough for Magpie to go to work. I meant that what the MAGPIE did was stupid. Ashley, well ... I think she's very lucky with her throwing things distraction skills. Although personally I don't think the golem wanted to hurt Ellen.
  11. Story Monday 4-23-2018

I think it might be more that Kevin thought that Ashley must be "too dumb to live" and that thus she was about to get herself killed by having antagonized the golem. After all, she has yet to say anything intelligent to Kevin since he first addressed her. Technically, yes, she didn't say anything intelligent ... she barely said anything ... because Kevin is talking nonstop without break so she CANT say anything without talking over him. That won't change that trying to hit the golem as it obviously did afterwards is stupid move. There is also the matter that official policy was to limit the number of active mages as much as possible, so a tool for aiding potential wizards in Awakening would have been counter to their goals. If left in open, obviously. However, DGB needs trained agents and it may be easier to hire someone with right non-magic skills, motivation and loyalty and awaken him than to hire someone awakened and try to motivate him, teach him other skills and make him loyal. On the other hand, people who really fit working in DGB might really not fit teaching tool like Kevin. ... also good point
  12. Story Monday 4-23-2018

Maybe something like this? No. THOSE were definitely dangerous. I'm thinking Ashley being surrounded by artifacts which mostly wouldn't be dangerous but might look that way, especially if they are all around you and you don't know which one you should pay attention to. Also, half of them would be talking, but given they will be talking over each other it would be impossible to understand them even if they were speaking english.
  13. Story Monday 4-23-2018

I hope that doesn't undermine democracy around the world. Let's ask Lord Tedd how well it went in his world. Hmmmm .... makes sense. It would explain why it was shown that something is escaping the pieces of diamond. Also, it's possible that the diamond used to be magical "battery" before last reset and therefore contains LOT of energy. He IS useless as long as number of wizard needing training is so small they don't need devices to teach. Because she's unconscious. And not a wizard. And already awakened, so possibly not classified as possible pupil. (Magus IS wizard presumably.) He MIGHT've started to react and be interrupted by the magpie. But in any case, he may have hair-trigger temper but is not evil or something. Might be that it will be number of artifacts as opposed to single artifacts making her go 9EK. Like, she will probably be surrounded. That, or it will be some artifacts getting CLOSE. Some other than Kevin I mean.
  14. Story Friday April 20, 2018

I would assume he does, however I think Elliot should totally recommend Ashley to get tested by Edward. ... or, in general, is able to generate whatever detailed description the magic detection wand is able to generate. We didn't SAW the details, but it was enough for Edward to say how often Elliot needs to change, and I suspect that required analysing his SPELL as well.
  15. NP Monday April 23, 2018

I am not sure anyone has ever asked Dan. I might give it a go. He's referred to as he on wiki. Of course, that only means I'm not only one who though he's he. WAIT: SUSAN thinks he's he.
  16. Story Monday 4-23-2018

It also looks metal. The wings specifically shows no attempt to be from feathers. Good luck with that baking. And, of course, it TALKS like computer. Soooo ... does Arthur think that it will be better if professionals will handle the PTTAOLUTASF, or does he hope that the artifacts will fight each others so the place will be safer few hours later?
  17. NP Monday April 23, 2018

So, this answers how can Dan totally include penetrative sex in story without losing PG-13 rating. I mean, obviously that's not what's happening now, but he can do it similarly. ... I was convinced it's male Demonic Duck, although I suspect it was based on him being attracted to female humans. Which is rather weak reasoning considering he shouldn't be attracted to humans at all. Dan doesn't NEED it. Can still use it. At least in non-canon story. DC, meanwhile ...
  18. Story Monday 4-23-2018

Sooo, Kevin doesn't really think he can deal with angry Golem? Or was it suggesting he won't help her after she threw him? In that case he changed mind quickly. Also, maybe it really was useless even without being affected by reset. The magpie meanwhile ... seems bigger than the real bird, but I still think it has some error in programming if it thinks it can "acquire" the golem. And if it WAS created after moon landing, why it activated now? Did it not detected any valuable magic before? That MIGHT be true ... or did something else activated and started recharging artifacts which were not rendered inert by magic reset but simply went out of magic? Hmmm ... true, we probably are outside of moperville magical anomaly ...
  19. Story Friday April 20, 2018

Seriously? Seems more annoying to me, although possibly less scary. That is possible. However, even that would suggest that sentient items are not EASY to build ... until some seer found how and build several of them. On the other hand, in past, knowing ABOUT magic was not so close about knowing magic. Today, revealing existence of magic means that LOT of people starts trying to find out how to get it. In past, people would automatically assume that magic is just for mages. So, sentient items didn't necessary be that big problems. Now, sentient items designed to teach people magic? Hmmm ... Kevin is talking in different language than the golem, but that doesn't necessary mean they are from different reset. They may just be from different areas. Final note: Kevin is probably artificial, but the golem might be transformed person and/or mind of person transferred to golem.
  20. It was a combination of things. A perfect storm if you will. Say, 51% Ellen more impulsive, 29% mixed signals, 20% Elliot knows Susan better now?
  21. Story Friday April 20, 2018

I'm curious...I was about to ask what makes a Seer awakened, I had originally thought that Seers didn't need to awaken, but it might be obvious enough that they do since the WoM stated that one of the requirments for a Seer to be eligible for the meeting would be to have used magic. So my question would be when was the first time Tedd used magic? Initial response probably would be when he first "saw" someone using magic, but given his family that would mean many chances throughout Tedd's childhood. But, the very first time might have been when Tedd first resisted the Magic Analysis Wand, thought it's also quite possible that Tedd "saw" the wand's effect at that moment as well but it was likely that moment that unlocked Tedd's Seer potential if he wasn't born already awakened. Personally I think that seers awaken when they use their magic analyzing talent on their magic analyzing talent, but I don't think we have canonical answer and it's true that Tedd was using all seer abilities, even the wand making, long before this ... which would suggest the awakening itself was offscreen. ...Gets shot by he who lives by the summoned gun. http://www.egscomics.com/index.php?id=2443 Actually, usually they are killed by vampires in more traditional way, probably eaten as well.
  22. To be fair, Elliot and Ellen didn't really know Susan when she first started being included in the group, and it's possible that As Elliot got to know Susan more he probably set up his own list of things not to say or do that could hurt their friendship. Also to be fair, Ellen might have been getting mixed signals from Susan, she did come across as being seductive when she invited Ellen to her bedroom and took her shirt off. I can imagine when Susan made her request for Ellen to transform her, Ellen probably thought "Oh is that all? Sure!" While that could also be part of it, it's mostly that Ellen decided to be more impulsive.
  23. That also suggests that Susan insisted at least multiple times. Cus you know Elliot wouldn't feel right about it otherwise. She definitely must insisted more than when asking Ellen, but it's possible she explained how she doesn't mind allowing him more than other people meanwhile.
  24. Dan's said the third goonmanji will likely be with males though. That suggests Elliot won. I mean, if it would be just Susan, then Justin winning could also explain that, but it's also Ashley. I don't think Susan would ask any other winner.
  25. Story Friday April 20, 2018

Yeah, if we take the relative statistics of number of potential Seers vs. number of Awakened Seers as being representative of Wizards as a whole, then only one or two percent of potential Wizards ever Awaken, and probably 90-98% of potential Wizards didn't even know that Magic was real before Arthur's announcement on television last year. And the same is probably true for other magical talents. Except the weapon summoning talent. Those tend to be awakened more often. Also dead more often.
