Comic for Monday, Mar 17, 2025 Immortal not understanding human moral judgement - Hope does not get the concept of keeping others secrets. Hope seems proud of herself for the reveal, for remembering and figuring things out. Grace seemed to anticipate the issue, maybe not expecting Hope to be so direct, but I assume she was guessing it was Rhoda. The main cast are in shock, maybe because Hope is a bit of a loose cannon, 'I might be next', or maybe because the reached the wrong conclusion previously regarding Rhoda and Catalina. Jay/Jill seems to be a bit put off. Probably senses something weird just happened, but not sure what. Maybe sees Hope a bit too bubbly about Pandora's past actions, but she's be unaware of much of it. It's getting interesting.

Comic for Wednesday, Feb 26, 2025 Susan is the Jill Whisperer. Excited Jill is very appealing. I think that's the first time she's let her guard down in-comic. And apparently, she likes Susan calling her out. This is going to be a fun relationship.

Comic for Friday, Feb 21, 2025 I'm not getting why Grace facepalmed. It must have to do with being misunderstood. Also not really getting the group's shock that Hope had a previous husband. She is ancient, and they know that. Is it that she had a relationship with a human in the past? Also curious if she is linking Jill and Susan or Jill and Tedd.

Comic for Monday, Jan 27, 2025 The big reveal recap of Pandora empowering Jay begins. TBD if jay reacts badly because it was traumatic, or if she is aware Pandora saved her life. I suppose that will be explained. "I'm why you have magic" seems like it would also carry weight. Not sure why Grace is expressing surprise. She barely knew Pandora, and barely knows her 'friend' Jay. Or she just shoved an acorn in her mouth. Maybe?

Comic for Monday, Jan 20, 2025 Presumably, Justin is still there, off panel. Seems like the doorway should go off in some weird dimension they couldn't see, no matter what. Would she trust just a smoke screen to keep intruders out? Someone is likely to stumble in if it connects to the inside of the shop. Last panel looks like she's owning being an immortal. I like the pacing, moving forward.

Comic for Monday, Dec 30, 2024 Susan is giddy. Is this a good thing? Elliot's in yet another female form, which (s)he may have used before. (S)he and Ashley are out with Liz, talking about magic. 'bout time Liz gets face time. She must be hard to write for, preventing her use. So, even with graduation, they may continue doing reviews. Good plan.

Comic for Friday, Dec 27, 2024 Susan realizes she matters, that she affects others. I guess this will come up with Jill?

https://www.egscomics.com/comic/hope-146 How Susan maintained her illusion of anonymity for so long is the real mystery While watching a televised poker tournament, I saw that one of the contestants was actor Gabe Kaplan. Between hands, another player walked up and thanked Kaplan for teaching him English. He had regularly watched "Kotter" when he immigrated to America in the 70s. While that was a generally pleasant scene, the disturbing truth is that if you have any degree of celebrity others will will use it to claim ownership of you. "Helped make me a better person" is not so bad by itself. But what will the next fan claim? What will he think he owes Susan? What will he think Susan owes him?

Comic for Friday, Nov 1, 2024 Well, that went quickly. They are both plenty observant, although reflecting back, if Jay knows about immortals, wouldn't she recognize what Hope was claiming to be? I seem to recall a comic stating that 'all wizards are descendants of immortals. Was there such a statement? She might not be aware of it (indeed, maybe Arthur isn't), nor who the immortal was. Last panel, mlooney's ship is making progress in the shipyard. That wasn't quite a proposal. Pretty damn close, though.

Comic for Monday, Nov 4, 2024 For a comic that is mostly a posting of coming matches, this comic has a lot of activity. Jay backpedals a bit on her marriage proposal, I guess realizing what she said. Susan has no time to respond. (I think the ship still has structural integrity.) Sam seems nervous to be paired with George, fearing that George will notice his actual sex change. Susan, paired with Larry, is distracted. By thoughts of Jay? They left a lot hanging. Sarah and Hope are happy to be hanging out. Jay and Tedd are nervous to be hanging out. And the chapter ends, to be resumed midweek, next week. I hope the pace keeps up.

Comic for Monday, Oct 28, 2024 Hope went right to dumping the frijoles. She is more confident than she was minutes ago, this makes sense how? Still, it works, and it is keeping a nice pace going. Jill is confused. I'd be confused, but she has the advantage of already knowing about magic, and Hope just mentioned, "I'm an magic bean" (frijole). We all know the hazards of magic beans, they make big plants that climb up to the clouds overnight and let huge giants climb down. So don't plant Hope. Susan figured it out right away, authenticated Hope, and is hopping down the bunny trail. I like that they stepped up the game quickly.

Comic for Wednesday, Oct 30, 2024 Hope is still finding her way, no confidence. Panel four, she was at her limit, running on fumes. But everyone was agreeable and accepting (not something I expected from Jill). Panel seven, Hope is shipping them as well.

Comic for Monday, Aug 26, 2024 Mark had better win if she's that out of it.

Comic for Wednesday, Aug 14, 2024 Stuff is going to happen! Cool! Tedd is aware. Curiously, Hope is not shown. She must know what is going on.
-
Comic for Friday, Aug 2, 2024 A fair amount of awareness of her past, nothing else new, really, she already determined she needed to talk to Sarah alone.

Comic for Friday, Jul 26, 2024 Jay is working on becoming a more likeable character. We need more backstory, why was she kind of a jerk in earlier comics? 'Susan is exhausted' suggests Susan prefers to be genuine. Some folks thrive on being phony; I think it energizes them. Is Jay even aware of Susan's aversion to touch? Will it kick in when Jay attempts to hug her?

Comic for Monday, Jul 22, 2024 I like this quick summary that moves the story forward. The detailed games in the earlier arcs made sense, there was character building as well. At this point, it seems little would be added by detailing each game. That said, I am curious how Susan's deck operates. And Guy's, even though he's barely a character. Sarah would be able to run better if her mammaries were canine rather than human. Beats boobs on a reptile, though. Or a bird. I'm looking at you Howard, with your Playduck magazine. We have yet to see Hope playing.

https://www.egscomics.com/comic/hope-085 Tedd & Tensaided have developed a banter that could serve them well for mutual support as they find themselves on the bottom rung of their respective academic ladders next semester at the University. Have we determined if this tournament is before or after Rich's RPG with Ellen et al? That will make a big difference in how he treats Susan. Can I trust my memory? The last time Rich encountered Susan was with Larry in Salty Crackers where they were severely hammered, by Catalina with a plastique replica of Mjölnir.

Comic for Monday, Jul 8, 2024 As portrayed in the comic in the past, rebooted immortals are kind of clueless - the couple that have been hanging around Elliot, perhaps selfish - Zeus, who is watching out for Susan and Diane. Pandora rebooted retaining much more than normal memory of her relationships, yet the outstanding feature of Hope is that she is hampered in functioning, more so than others who reboot unencumbered. Was it just a bad idea? I have the impression that is not what Dan intended. I expect her to be dialed in more quickly than a normal reboot; able to reconnect with her past. Of course it could be that Pandora was discounting the affects of her own actions and how it would affect her future self. She clearly does not understand people all that well. I hope she connects and gets guidance. Jay's response is a bit odd. Is she surprised that Susan has friends? Implying that she does not?

Comic for Monday, Jul 1, 2024 VS list with some mental images. Tensaided looks fierce, Tedd looks apprehensive. Susan and Rich both look freaked out. I think George is getting ready to stomp AJ. Hope still looks worried and withdrawn. She needs to pull Sarah aside and talk to her.

https://www.egscomics.com/comic/hope-074 Jay, you are not blushing. You are reflecting Justin.

https://www.egscomics.com/comic/hope-071 Didn't Susan confront her retroactive stage fright a long time ago? Or perhaps she takes steps to avoid thinking of it. But it still hits hard every time she lets that thought cross her mind. I wonder if Dan will seriously explore the plight of people who become famous without wealth or institutions that can protect them? Those can be some of the scariest and most miserable tales ever.

https://www.egscomics.com/comic/hope-070 First, if I remember my Trek Lore correctly, Picard used the "Picard maneuver" when fighting Ferengi. Does a fight against Ferengi that does not involve Latinum actually count? - - - - - Next, I need some help identifying the last panel party - - - - Outgoing is a relative term If Sam's experience with gender questions has largely centered around concealment, then a genderfluid individual with Tedd's level of confidence must seem outgoing.

https://www.egscomics.com/comic/hope-061 Please recall, most of Susan's dates have eventually involved monster hunting. - - - - - Tedd's cat Jeremy does count as a monster. Right? Or is Susan a monster to Jeremy?
